3 old,7 new companions

There are a lot of characters that I like/love from previous games, for example, Isabela. Sadly, I think her history has come to an end, we learnt a thing or two about her past and present motivations and I don't see her interested in getting involved in this war. The same happens with Aveline, Fenris or Merrill, they played their part in the series and having them in your party again would be a little bit too much of fanservice (well, like getting Cassandra or Cullen...). And...there's Varric, a character that has a lot background that we don't know yet and with an useful spy network, he can be a possibility (another fanservice but...please!).
In the end we are having new companions or some companions that were NPC in previous games (Isabela in DA2, Cullen DA3, Cassandra DA3...) or that they were playable but only during a brief time (Merrill, Anders, Justice in DA2...).

Though in the minority, I think those of us who believe we'll have all new companions are right due to all the variances of "who's alive?" or "who died?", and since Bioware tried that with Leliana in DA2 and several fans got mad at the retcon. I like your two examples btw.Sable Rhapsody wrote...
I must be in the minority in that I want all new characters. I know and love the old companions, but I've played with them and followed their story arcs already. I want people we've never seen as companions--female Kossith, Orlesian chevaliers, that sort of thing.
Then again, DG already said they've got the cast set

Especially when you learn he kills a bunch of apprentice mages when he goes loony in Fereldan and does a runner. ****.

So if my counting is correct in the leaked survey there were only 7 new companions
1.Cullen
2.Cassandra
3.Mage
4.Dark skinned female(most likely Antivan) rouge
5.A grey warden
6.Mage n2
7.Elf rouge
If they said there will be 10 companions, would it make sense that the other 3 comapnions are old ones coming back, well i ceirtanly hope that way,Post here your favourite companions you would like to see come back in DA
Mine is:
1.Isabella
2.Leliana
3.Sten
I think there is a 90% chanche that Morrigan is coming back altrough i hope for these three the most.
i hope this... except i don't really get the thing with cullen and cassandra^_^ i mean my mage would HATE cullen and cassandra just seems... suspicious all the time.

(Sorry. I really enjoyed that DLC.)
Oh god no
(Don't get me wrong, that dlc was fun, and I love felicia day, but I found tallis so annoying I wanted to throttle her)
Erm, they could always make some Companions optional...
Like, Sten, Leliana, Dog, Zevran, Wynne, Oghren, Shale, and Logain.

I have no idea where the russian DA wiki gets the information from, but there was a list of companions for DA3 there... Some of them even with names.
Could be the survey leak. Only name I remember though is Iron Bull, kossith fellow with distinctly anti-Qunlike behavior.

Dorian: Dorian Pavus is a magister. The title conjures fear of arcane masters who once enslaved nations. Dorian may wield power of the magisters, but he delights in not being what youd expect of them. Brazen and clever, this outcast is on a crusade to rid his homeland of its corruption. Sera: Sera is young, frenetic, and a brat through and through. She revels in the athleticism of being an elf, of being different. But her culture isnt elven, or, for that matter, strictly human. Its the underbelly of the city. In her network of rogues, what you do is more important than where youre from, and friends open more doors than [titles?]. Robs from the rich, keeps it. The Iron Bull: The Iron Bull is a long way from home, and prefers it taht way. A slap in the face of typically humorless Qunari, he loves drinking, killing, and looting-not necessarily in that order. The head of a vicious mercenary company, hes known for excellent pay and brutal punishment. Its been a ten year party, but the Bull may find that old loyalties die hard. Cole: A long time ago, a young man died a cruel death in a dark place. And now, somehow, there is Cole. Was he a spirit of a demon? Is he human now? Coles not sure it matters anymore. Hounded by memories that arent his, incisible in a world he can stalk like a shadow, the rogue must decide between joining the living or preying on them.

DG once posted on retcons--basically, when the writers kinda put themselves in a corner, which they frequently do especially in RPGs where the player ends up making a lot of the plot decisions, they retcon things. For example, in DA2 they felt Anders, with his friendship with Justice and his troubled history with the Circle, would be an excellent mouthpiece for the mage problem. So they retconned the event of his death, which doesn't happen in most games.
IMO it's an ok approach so long as they don't retcon things that are very personal to protagonists (and their players.) The Dark Ritual, for example, or who you romanced. Anders' DA2 death, for example, will not be retconned.

I think my Inquisitor might spend most of the game hiding from him. Maybe with a tin foil hat on her head.
He's scary as all hell, but super cool conceptually.

I think that the whole party will have trouble sleeping at night when he is around. I wonder how would other companions react to him...
...I just realized that I totally want him as squadmate. DA lacks creepy, scary characters XD He`s at least interesting to have around.
And if Dorian will be like Fenris or Sebastian or reversed Anders, I`ll leave him to the darkspawn. <_< Don`t get me wrong, I love all of them, but I really want something different.

I find him intriguing. So much things he can tell us. Plus, it's finally nice to have a proper insane character.
