Your right.. Volus would be completely OP if they were put in in a lore friendly manner. More resiliant than Krogans, more recources than the Reapers, more technology at their fingertips than the Quarians..

People keep saying that Volus are a joke and I think that is exactly why they do need to be put in; to fix that misconception.

Even if the species isn't known for military prowess we're talking about individuals, not an entire culture. Cultural anomalies among individuals are quite normal. I kind of few the warriors in multiplayer like the French Foreign Legion. Recruits from nationalities are welcome to tryout.

Doesn't work when you have thousand or millions of rouge volus going to war out of the blue when they are not suited for it

Thousands or millions?

The amount of bsn users playing at them would make them be more then a few dear..

I guess we should remove the Asari Justicar then.

Since Samara confirms there's barely any of them left and the order might not survive the Reaper War.

I'm sure the Volus never had conflicts pre-space flight.

That completely ignores the combat flaws of the volus.
AKA exploding when shot off their home planet.

And also completely ignores the combat benefits of the volus. Volus can survive unsuited at higher atmos than every other major race. They live on a planet with 1.5x the gravity of Earth.

Also the idea that volus would explode is pretty stupid. Humans don't explode in a vaccuum. This might be a fatal problem over the course of minutes or hours, but its unlikely to be instantly fatal to a volus. A simple patch would fix the problem.

Name a map that would be suited to volus.
And I'm pretty sure a massive, sudden change in pressure would kill you.
Unless you're an astronaught or deep sea diver who has expierenced such conditions?

Humans do not explode when exposed to vaccuum. Known scientific fact bro. Complete vaccuum exposure will kill a person over the course of a couple minutes, and knock a person unconscious in less than that amount of time, but does not explode people. The difference between the volus atmosphere and the conveniently earth-similar atmospheric pressure is probably not the same as the difference between our atmospheric pressure and a vaccuum. Furthermore, having a suit puncture is not the same a complete exposure.

I'm pretty sure a krogan with a suit is more than capable to fight on a volus planet than volus with a suit being able to fight on a krogan planet.

I don't look at the whole of everyone playing at once as the sum of it's parts, at least in terms of the fantasy world. I see each individual mission on its own merit, in this case a maximum of 4 Volus working together. If you're going to go that far then you'd have to wrap your head around the Alliance doing millions upon millions of the same repetitive four missions on a weekly basis.

1.5 times gravity and 60 times the atmospheric pressure. Human out in space is going from 1 atmosphere to 0. Volus in regular atmosphere is going from 60 to 1.. huge explosive difference.

Now, they also have a suit that makes sure they do not explode. It would have many redunancies to keep the Volus from exploding. Unless the whole suit's power system fails, they won't pop even if shot.

THAT said, I want to know how a creature that can withstand pressures that would crush a tank like a ball of tin foil would be harmed by normal bullets. :innocent:

Volus don't fit physics.. They are unrealistic and tying to rationalize them as to why they could or could not be soldiers is stupid.. Take them or leave them when they come out people. They can fit if you suspend as much belief as one has to for them to even fit into single player.

It just doesn't come on as feasible for a non combative race with the genophage being cured and with the other races numbering in the thousands or millions or so working together to fight with the alliance to stop the reapers makes much more sense

The point was actually supposed to be that MP doesn't follow lore to the letter and certain mechanics get to ignore lore by their right as a game mechanic.

Things like "there aren't a lot of them left", "Cerberus on Condor", or "Medi-Gel can cure a bullet to the head or even a Geth" fall into that category.

If they actually removed anything that was somewhat limited in number, we'd be losing a lot of characters.

"Volus Haven't played a combat role in mass effect so why are they being added?"
So they CAN play a combat roll.

It's a non-cannon game mode specifically designed to be fun. Just go with it.

The multiplayer is still suppose to be connected to the lore of the singleplayer

So, how does one that can survive pressures that would crush a tank get hurt by bullets? Assuming their suit is built so they DON'T explode [I'm not going to explain how for the thousanth time... >.>] they would be impervious to just about anything that would normally harm something else.

One would have to re-invent weaponry to hurt them [partical rifle and reegar would probably work, but anything that simply fires a projectile would do just about nothing to something like that.]

As I recently already stated, you already have to suspend any sort of physics belief to assume that Volus can even exist.. It doesn't take any more than that to figure that they could fit into MP.

As long as there are 4 Justicars (plus Samara) it doesn't break the lore. In fact it would break the lore if they were NOT helping out against the greatest threat the galaxy has ever faced.

I just don't see the volus as fitting the lore combat wise or being added so I gotta say no on this unless they bring back protheans they're is no way that I'd support a race being added to the battlefield when they've never really helped out before

Do us a favor and go corner an animal that isn't a predator. See how non-combatitive a cornered squirrel is when cornered by the dominant species of this planet. ;)

We're talking about a maximum of 4 Volus working together, which is entirely feasible even if you dismiss the the possibility Volus being a combative people.

This is like someone complaining about Legion in Mass Effect 2, stating "All geth are evil, Mass Effect proved it and we haven't seen any friendly geth, remove Legion NOW!!!!"

...there's always a first, and just because it happens in the first, second or third game is of no significance.

That doesn't change the fact that the volus have always had others fight for them lol
