DAO had great replayability!;)

I played human noble and got sacrifice^_^
I reloaded a save and got dark pact:ph34r:
Then I played the other origin stories and exited when I finished that! :D

^Heck yeah that's like 2 playthroughs, AWESOME!!!!

<_<

You people give DAO too much credit, it was same regardless of orgin except sometimes they said my lord or dirty elf. In fact most of your choices in the game felt like it only changed what hat someone was gonna wear.

...

Did it ever occure to you that some replay the game to try other classes and specs? For crying out loud, this forum sometimes. Some of us enjoy BIOWARE GAMES FOR THE GAMEPLAY!

Ok my comment wasn't completely true, I played a mage to awakening but let's be honest at the end of the day rogues were nerfed warrirors. Useless because they can't use any of their unique abilities during combat till the end of the game. :P

Uh...Rogues are a lot better than Warriors in DA:O thanks to the backstab.

And they could tank just as well.  Dex tanks were probably the best tanks.

Except the had more trouble holding agro while any warrior would find it child's play, i say it again rogues can't use their unique abilities during combat till you reach the end of the game.

In the end warriors have
greater combat control (warrior abilities, champion, reaver)
durability (wear plate, more health)
approximately same dodge chance (all warrior classes need dex)
More/same dps (duel wield, reaver, berzerker)
also dodging is worthless vs range and mages.
Backstab would be nearly impossible if you didn't have warriors building agro
Stealth gives you a crit that can miss at the cost of putting  you in danger all on your own.
Of all classes rogues have the most difficulty soloing.

I have nine Wardens finished (including Awakening) and one or two others partway through.  I think I only ran DA2 five times, though, to the end.  The DLC really added replayability, for me.

ME1 I've finished six times, I think, and I've got a new character about a third of the way through.  I could only face ME2 four times and ME3 one full run, though.  Part of the reason I don't have as many Shep's is that she always ends up with Kaidan, though I had a one each for Thane and Garrus.  And then they pumped him full of steroids while Shep was in jail which apparently stifled half his biotics.  :(  But that's another thread.

know what has the most replayability? Food, we always seem to come back for it; almost as if we NEED it.

I think for me one of the reasons why I replay the Mass Effect franchise more then Dragon Age is because of New Game+, for me I don't always like restarting at level 1 with going though "relearning" my spells and skills. I could admit my completed games for all the different BioWare games, but I am not willing to admit that publicly.

DA:O I must have replayed countless times. Somewhere between 15 - 25 times and that is not even counting the ridicilous number of characters I've quit part way through. It always takes me around 60+ hours to beat it (and thats not couting awakening) which feels very daunting to me. So I often think, once I've beaten it, that I'll never do this again. But nope, here I am doing it again because DA 3 has been announce. My mage is almost done with the game. I'm on my way to Orzammar and then the Landsmeet. Oddly enough, I find Also odd is that I've never completed a mage playthough before. lol

I must say my favorite parts of the game are the Elven ruins where you fight the werewolves, The Deep Trenches (it feels epic), the Landsmeet and the prison break before hand, and the final battle.

Oddly enough, were most games feel like they drag on and on, DA:O is at its best (for me at least) at the end of the game where it just gets better and more epic as I go. The Awaking expansion, while I think its fantastic, I typically don't bother comepleting except when I plan on exporting a character to DA 2. Which is not often. I typically just use a pre-made history to play through DA 2.

DA 2 has had a lot less complete replays but the combat is a lot more fun. Lets face it, DA2 is very repetitive but I do love the companions and their banter a lot more. Not to mention that I enjoy playing a Mage far more in DA 2. Mage combat just feels more exciting and faster paced (as with everything in the game).

I'd say my replays of DA 2 are about 1/3 of my DA:O replays.

ME 1 I've replayed twice and the rest I've played only once. Fun games but I see little reason to replay them. Not to mention that they feel much more like shooters than RPGs. I usually much prefer sci-fi settings to fantasy but in this case Dragon Age wins out hands down. And the fact that I love Dragon Age's companions a lot more has a large part to do with it. Nor do I care for werid looking aliens. (Little shock that I played renegade)

Most bioware games I've only replayed once or twice. DAO and NWN are exceptions to that. Far as I can tell, the thing that makes me want to replay is that each playthrough feels unique and still enjoyable after multiple playthroughs. So things that are repetitive or very linear or have limited customization options might be a hindrance.

But then, I've played through Ocarina of Time at least six times. So what I'm saying is I really have no idea why I replay games and everything I said before was a lie.

I suspect they're all soft criteria under the overarching umbrella that I really like the game to begin with and want to replay it simply because of that.

I got a lot replay value out of the differnt origins as well as trying out all the classes as well as their variants. I'm also a big fan of banter and with all the party combinations there is some really great nuggets to be discovered. TBH I never really get tired of the cinematic when you take down the archdemon; I love the music and its wonderfully epic. I also just like the characters so much that I get something out of just playing the game. I'm hoping DA3 will have more of this feel to it.

I haven't replayed DA2 as much, but once I figured out the cross class combos, it was a blast gameplay wise, but not as rewarding in terms of the story and characters.

I think I've had five full playthroughs of DA:O. More than any of the ME games. I played ME1 three times, I think, and ME2 twice.

DA2 was so horrible I gave up a bit into second act. ME3 I played on a friends rig, and was about to go and buy it, until the ending. So, no playthroughs for DA2 and one for ME3.

Various playthroughs of DAO.
DA2 has little replay value for me, because the same environments ever and ever again and I don't like the gameplay(combat etc.).
I think, the reason for what people replay DA2 is, because it is much shorter than Origins.

I finished DA:O half a dozen times, DA2 once or twice. Thinking of re-playing DA:O again, but I'm done with DA2.

I finished ME1 half a dozen times and ME2 three or four times. ME3 once.

I'm probably not a member of the target audience anymore. :)

I've played through DA:O 1/2 times, DA2 once, Mass Effect 1 & 1/8 times, and Mass Effect 2 and 3 once. I'm not one who replays games that much unless I get stuck at a certain point and decide to start from scratch. But that's just me.

I like Mass Effect a lot more than Dragon Age but I find Dragon Age has far, far more replayability.

It probably has something to do with Mass Effect, for me, feeling like I can only play through as one Shepard, the Shepard I've had for all three games, where as with Dragon Age I feel I can play mutltiple Wardens or multiple Hawkes.

Only on my 3rd full play-through of DA:O, but have got through to a halfway point to twice as well, so time-wise the equivalent of 4 playthroughs and I am loving almost every single second of it as much as I did first time round. I can see me finishing the game many more times due to different class/race/companion combinations.

DA:2 I forced myself to playthrough once, it made me feel ill and i'll never touch again.

EDIT: All DA:O playthroughs include all the DLC + Awakening

DA Origins = 3 times with Awakening 3 times, Golems and Witch Hunt each twice, the others at least once
DA 2 = haven't finished once yet (waiting to gather the points to get all DLC first)
ME 1 = once or twice with a third file being in progress
ME 2 = same as ME 1
ME 3 = haven't even touched single player after watching the ending on youtube

Lacking? Quite the contrary, I find that the Dragon Age games have an extremely high replayability for me. I've actually lost count of how many times I've played Origins and DA2 is four times so far. Curiously enough I'm planning to start a new playthrough soon from Origins through Awakening and on to Dragon Age 2.

DA:O - four times (and struggled to force myself to finish the last one...)
DA2 - currently on 7th replay and still finding new things to enjoy
Didn't play ME1
ME2 - twice
ME3 - once

DA:O - 5 finished, 1 accidentally deleted, 1 in-progress
DA2 - 6 finished, 1 eaten by crashed hard drive, 2 in-progress
ME - began a game, hated it, and put it aside unfinished
ME2 - began a game, hated it, and put it aside unfinished
ME3 - learned my lesson (I just don't like sci-fi)

For me, Dragon Age games have great replayability, even if I almost always play mages. Then again, I read books I like more than once, too.

Played DA2 4 times so far. The re-used environments do mean i have had to give myself a break between completing a run and starting a new one. That's probably about equal to my Origins completions though too.

As For Mass Effect
ME1: 5
ME2: 8
ME3: 1 (really medicore game unfortunately)

DA:O: four times with CE Warden. Two with DC Warden. include three time Awakening.

DA2: one and half. I have started one, than went frustrated with the little choise and the pre-imposted character. started another game a lot of time later, forced myself to finish the game. Maybe before DA3 I will restart. Maybe not. That depend if I buy or not DA3.

ME: two times (F/Shep M/Shep) and one in-progress

ME2: four times (three F/Shep one M/Shep) helped the comic for PS3...

ME3: two times (one each gender)
