Oddly enough he'll still do the kiss thing even if you've kissed him yourself.
And the rose thing can happen after you've slept together, which is what makes his blushing in that case so very silly.

Oh, darn. Now I just have to start a new character to get him to kiss me first.

I think it makes him sort of cute. And in a certain way the rose IS more intimate. I mean, you can get a f*ck in the pearl for 30 silver (or for free via Isabel), you can sleep with various people you dont know etc... but nowhere in the entire game you can get a rose except for this dialogue with Alistair.

It takes a lot longer. And I think you have to do his personal quest in order to trigger him asking you to sleep with him. I'm not sure if it happens otherwise, as I'm almost to the end of a game now where I didn't do his quest and he hasn't asked. He did initiate the rose and the kiss.
I'm playing an "evil" character that has romanced him almost entirely on the basis of gifts and accepting his rose, saying what I know he wants to hear. One ally away from Landsmeet and he still hasn't asked. I'm not sure you can trigger that without doing his personal quest. I'm choosing not to do so to purposely keep him weak. My narcissist character wouldn't want him to stop having her desire be his command. Him standing up for himself doesn't suit her.
So far, Wynne's dead, Zevran's dead, Shale's not activated, Leliana never made it out of Lothering, Morrigan got sent away from camp...it's just me, dog, Alistair, Oghren and Sten, and I'm not helping anyone or doing their personal quests, I'm just giving Alistair everyone else's gifts to keep his approval up no matter what evil thing I do, including siding with all the bad guys and killing Connor myself.
At this point I'm such a **** I don't really like him for falling for my crap anyway. So if he doesn't touch me I'm fine with that. I just think the most "evil" thing to do is to feed him to the archdemon and my character knows she's going to do that, and he has to be in love for that to happen.

Alistair never asked anything even though his approval was at 100/Love... Funny enough Leliana thought we'd have had sex even though I hadn't even kissed him, damn it. I wish I could've told her there IS no such thing between us.
Sounds like a bug. The sex sequence with Alistair should have triggered upon returning to camp right after getting him to 100 / Love. But if it was just 100 / Adore it would not have. I think you have to do the Goldanna thing first before Alistair will bring up having sex.
Also, try hardening him next time. With the right dialogue choices he won't dump you.

I know that whole "Your desire is my command" line is so much more romantic than "What is it you need, my dear". Uggh, sounds like we've been married for twenty years or something when he says that.
By the way, you can get Morrigan to leave camp? How? I'll have to try that.

I know. I cannot STAND being my deared. I hate it. It's part of what I hate about hardening his character. Not to mention the quest itself being uber icky.
I'm in love and I'd never call my husband "my dear" that way...and if he started calling me that...I'd probably file for divorce. UGH.
My character took all of Morrigan's equipment away, put her in commoner's clothing (with the patches) and asked her to leave. I had hoped to be able to turn her in at the circle, but Gregoir didn't seem to care that I had an apostate with me. So I just asked her to leave. Since she doesn't have a staff I'm assuming she won't last long and I'll never hear from her again.
I'm seeing what kind of train wreck of an epilogue I can get.

Wow, I've never tried asking her to leave because I thought she just wouldn't really. I thought she was needed for the dark ritual so the game wouldn't let you get rid of her. Good, that's what she gets for saying Alistair has the brain of a dead calf
Being called 'my dear' sounds like how my father-in-law addresses my mother-in-law when she sends him to do errands or something he doesn't want to do "yes, my dear

I wish they would come up with a patch for Alistair that when he loves you he says something like "I will follow you to the ends of the earth, my beautiful goddess" or something similar
. LOL
.
I always associate "my dear" with someone being obnoxiously condescending.
Too much time on forums in political arguments, I suppose, will do that to a person.
Beautiful goddess is definitely better. That gets my vote too.

HOWEVER...you can't get a threesome with Isabel in the Pearl if you are at that stage - haven't slept with him yet...but each way I keep getting Alastair going "Hey...what about the boundaries, you know?!" or something to that effect...then both of the two responses I have as options - "I just wanted to see how you'd react" and something like "Why not?" both result in Isabel saying "Oh, I didn't know you were taken" *sighs* I'll just have to do it with a human PC, Zev, and Lilliana. Isabel never gave me an option when I tried with my Dalish Elf. I think she is a tad prejudiced, at least against Dalish women :-P

Weird. I've done this order exactly....hardening quest, go to camp, have him ask to sleep with me, go to Isabel and have a threesome.

I also just got Zevran so...I'm afraid in this playthrough, since I am an elf anyway, I will dump alistair and try Zevran. I hope he will take it well! I'm glad I got the nice romance story with Alistair before that through

And I think you just need a high enough coercian skill to get the you, ali and izzy threeway to happen. Or you could just watch the whole scene on youtube ;x
And I don't mind the "my dear" stuff so much, because I guess its kinda like their way of showing that your relationship's beyond the infatuation stage, and more at a comfortable partnership. In other words, "The honeymoons over! Now get me a beer!" XD
@Reci You MUST report on your epilogue--It sounds amazing XD

Heh, Ali dumping you at the landsmeet is no bug -- sad but true. And with Alistair, it's better if you wait for him, but with Zevran, it doesn't matter (I've gotten up to 22 approval when my PC has initiated it with him, and 17 approval when he initiates it). But the dialog when you wait for Alistair to be ready is so much better. Also, the companions don't see to care if you're having sex, only if someone else adores you. Heck, I've gotten the lecture from Wynne about Zevran and my PC keeping her up all night with the wild sex before my PC had sex with him -- makes me wonder what exactly he did do with those Dalish gloves that pushed him up into Adore . . .

Yeah, I think you need to harden him to get him to ask you to his tent or whatever, because its only then that he gets really confident. And you can still do his sidequest and keep him whiney--just choose any answer other than "People only do things for themselves" or whatever it is. And even if you =do= choose that answer, you can still save him from being hardened by afterwards saying "No! I didn't mean that at all!"

I don't want to get past the infatuation stage. I'm still entirely infatuated with my husband and it's been...about 15 years. The day he "my dears" me, I'm informing him I'm checking out my other romantic options since he clearly doesn't have his heart in it any more. Time to go heart hunting! Open Marriage Time!
I'll have to finish that game. I have to admit I have succeeded in hating every party member for being so dumb. Except Dog. Can't blame Dog. When I walk off the roof with Alistair dead and Sten hopefully unconscious so I don't have to say an awkward goodbye, I'm taking my earnings (not donating anything to armies either) and retiring to an island I buy with the sovereigns I've earned from helping nobody and hawking everyone's belongings. Dog and I will search for treasure in the sand dunes. Not that we need it, just that my character loves it when people or animals bring her pretty things, so Dog is perfect for that. There probably won't be an Epilogue other than Anora's. And I know she'll trash the Elves, so there's 1/3 of Ferelden's population down right there. Everyone else is dead. My only sadness is I'm not a mage, so Cullen won't snap because of me. Awww.
If the darkspawn find me, I hope they can swim really well. That'd be worth it anyway. A flotilla of darkspawn come to find little old me on my personal island? Narcissist's dream.
