It's all about immersion.

A couple of months ago I bought ME3. After playing it a couple of times I HAD to get 1 & 2 (as you do) :D

One of the things that struck me going back in the series is the consistency of character faces. Even though the faces in ME1 were made with different tech the player can easily recognise them. Even minor characters, like Dr. Michel, look the same throughout the series.

Generally I play female characters. If I'm going to spend a whole bunch of time looking at a computer generated approximation of a human being I'd rather spend it looking at a computer generated approximation of a female human being.

Which brings me to my gripe.

There is no consistency of look for the default female Shepard. Playing that is like playing 3 different people. All the way through my playthroughs of 1 & 2, I keep thinking to myself  "You're not Shepard".

To me ME3 default female Shepard IS Shepard. It's a well-constructed face - certainly better than anything I could make - which suits both the voice and the character.

What I would really like is dlc for ME1 & 2 which makes the ME3 default female Shepard face available in those games :)

Many might prefer a patch to make the ME3 default Femshep look like she did in 1 & 2 ;) But since there's a face editor in every game it's no biggie, and it's highly unlikely that 3 and 5 year old games are ever going to get anything new added to them now. Personally I only ever played the default Femshep once and the default Blokeshep never just because I like all my Shepards to be distinct.
