Huh... I've gotten plenty of blade armor kills against Brutes, so it must scale SOMEHOW. Is it possible that like the DR thing, it's actually 75% of what's listed?

I think its a bug related to the cap(2000). I believe when the damage returned reaches the cap (or more) it doesn't do damage at all, instead of dealing 2000 damage.

Enemy health bars flicker when they hit you, but I've yet to see any substantial damage dealt by this ability. A phantom melee'ing you for around 800 shield damage, should be returning 800 damage (a significant portion of barrier damage to her) but it currently isn't doing anywhere remotely close to that.

Maybe it related to what Motz said and we're better off skipping the 150% damage evolution to stay under the 2000 cap.

I got the feeling this was going on when I was testing the new Batguard. I never use the Armor on the Sent or Soldier so this was my first real taste of it. Didn't seem to do much of consequence to guys that whacked me.

I teste my Broguard on Bronze and Silver before taking a spin with the big guns. I noticed that on Bronze and Silver, the damage returned was working quite a lot, but on Gold it barely worked.
I figured the cap was bugged, but who knows, Phatnoms sometimes stun without taking damage on silver, which is very strange.

I've not played with BA since the new brawler release but be4 that I had BA specced on a BSen for the challenge and had no issue with it returning dmg.
Killed a few brutes with BA
Durability/Dmg return/Durability
Was how I have the BSen specced

So far as I understand, enemies have a "Damage" stat. Then they are scaled based upon the difficulty. Is it possible that the damage returned is being based off the the "Damage" stat without the difficulty scaling applied, then reduced by the Armor DR as well? This could explain really low damage numbers.

is this just with the new brawler class? i cant watch the vid. if it is, or hell, even if it isnt ill add my observation. i havent played any batarians too recently til yesterday when i got the brawler. i spec fully into the tanking skills, but i saw almost no recognition that BA was returning damage. what i remember from playing the other batarians was that enemies that melee'd me would stagger back after hitting me, but yesterday i was just getting staggered to no end and majority of the enemies just didnt respond. it did randomly work a few times but im talking once or twice a match out of 12ish matches yesterday.

With all the buffs in the past in a effort to make gold harder be4 we had plat I don't see them having scaled for gold sooo it could be the effect is working right its just that its against buffed up units vs a non scaled up effect(if that makes any sense)

Well blade armour used to be able to deal some crazy revenge damage on charging brutes and the like, often killing them.
I do agree though I have noticed things not being hurt by blade armour of late.

Yeah I've also been noticing Blade Armor not damaging as much as it should be. I've got the full 250% damage return option and although I have killed things with it, they've been down to one health bar anyway. On enemies with better health I don't think I've seen it take more than one bar.

It seems to me that a banshee grab work funny, both in silver and gold I got grabbed with the Broguard and after the animation started for the sync kill I got dropped. It looked like the return damage from the grab, being a mele, stunned the banshee and I got dropped as a comseguence. Even a pretorian dropped me when the animation started, I was dead but not sinc killed. There was a lot of crossfire, so I do not know if my teammates stunt the banshee for me.
So far I had two banshee drop me in silver and gold and one pretorian. The phantom killed me thou...

I think you are on the money based on all my tests. Bronze and Silver melees returned nearly outright kill the troopers, but on gold the stronger melees do little to no damage at all. If the damage was not dealt if the cap was exceeeded, this would explain it.
That being said, it seems as if always a little damage is dealt, as I will occasionally get kills with BA on gold.

Based on the test results I have so far, the damage bug has nothing to do with the damage cap.
First of all the damage returned is irrelevant to the amount of DR you have. BA, BA + cover, BA + heavy melee all returned the same damage.
For cannibals, damage returned on the first three difficulties were 320/660/160, which is nowhere near the 2000 damage cap.
According to predicted values, damage on gold should be double of bronze. Maybe they mixed it up and halved the damage instead?

It's never worked above Silver. Not since the power was first released. They proceeded to buff it, but I never really bothered to test it. That said, I'm not surprised to learn the buff had no real impact on the higher difficulties. BW screwed up with this power. Period.

It might not require a patch. Some things have been shown to be fixable with .ini tweaks.
