This is a shoutout to anyone who feels stuck in re-playing the game. My idea had been for long to replay Da, awakening and da2 plus dlc to have an import for Da3. But I can't start because I am too familiar with the game. I can't decide anything from race, to class, to companions, to dark ritual or not. So stuck it's driving me crazy, where to begin? What kind of character do I identify with? What choices correspond with that character etc?

Anyone else have the same predicament and a possible solution!? Like advice on how to move on in my gaming life hahahaha! It's becoming ridiculous. But it is almost as if there is too much choice.

I mainly play for the enjoyment of the story.

Also I am scared to miss out on stuff in coming games because of choices I made in origins or Da2. Or that the choices mess up the logic of coming stories because the importing is not perfected.

Well, not to long ago myself I was stuck on this very predicament. I had played multiple times both games. What prompted me to run again was my gaming was in a rut because I had 2 imports of my own, in addition to borrowing 2 from a friend because I hadn't felt like playing all the games again. But I felt disconnected from the two games mostly because the friend made a few choices I just didn't agree with.

So to spice up my runthrough I decided to make a King Cousland (something I had only done once before and lost through an old PC and subsequent reinstallment). I put in some fresh morphs for my companions using the toolset (you don't say if you have PC or Xbox/PS3 version), and fresh morphs really helps me, esp the new one I made of Anora.

Then i proceeded to enjoy a run where I made choices I never had before, keyed specifically toward things that might affect DA2. The biggest change was, in Awakenings I actually saved the Keep instead of the City. Got the achievement and got to see a new quest open up in DA2, got to see scenes I never had before. A few lines were different because my boy was King instead of just a grey warden, and taking my time playing, only playing when I feel like it. I've reached Act 2 of DA2 now.

When i finish this story to its conclusion, I may go Dalish next, since the Dalish warden's clan is in DA2, and he/she gets mention. I have saved a Surana Mistress, a Queen Cousland, a King Cousland and a GW Cousland with "Loghain alive" scenario. I'd also like an Amell, because of the family connection. But it may take a while. Right now Dragon Age has to compete with my love of the Star Wars online game.

Hope some of these ideas help! Have fun!

Thanks for some thoughts on that. Question though: when DA3 arrives, which import will you use. And even if you may try many different ones, do you think of any of them as your own main canon and if so then what makes it qualify as such? Cause that is my problem, I kinda wanna feel that this one playthrough is what I want to import as my main experience of the games.

For me my 'canon' run is my Surana Mistress tale. I really enjoy elves, (esp the new take Bioware has with them in DA), and I love the mage class best. Also, she has the most 'complete' feeling to it. It's hard to describe, just I really enjoy her. Though I will probably use all of them for different scenes, that's the one I like best.

I know exactly how you feel. I also tend to get my OCD trips not being able to decide how to play. It's painful to know that you will only experience a rather small portion of the entire game (voice acting lines mostly). Unless you plan spending the rest of your life playing all the different combinations.
When I completed ME3 as male paragon I could not decide what to do afterward. The obvious choise was ofcourse to continue playing my renegade female from ME2, but I began getting crazy ideas starting ME1 again.
BioWare games can become dangerous for an obsessive mind.
My suggestion is to watch youtube clips of the different combinations, or just take a break.

On this note, I have a problem too. My most recent run, human noble, took me over 2 hours just to get to the night time attack. Why? Because I reloaded about 50 times, to hear all the dialogue. Just the story with Nan alone took about 10 minutes counting the load times for reloading.

I do that in every origin now. It really makes things take far longer then they should.

BioWare should really make a software that makes it possible to listen to all the dialogue and watch all the ingame sequences depending on what you chose to say or do. I would love to listen and watch it all but I hardly have a time for another playthrough. They should do the same thing for romance. I don't care much about hack'n'slash action parts.

Don't worry so much about your choices, though they matter a bit, it's not so much that you will miss out on key points of the story. Consider what you've already done in previous playthroughs and do the opposite,
