If I get those, I'd like to see crossbows for warriors (yay ranged weapons again!), chain weapons for rogues, and a style for mages that involves small levitating spheres.
After that, whatev.

Without changing gameplay a whole hell of a lot, not well. There's essentially nothing a magebow can do that can't be achieved with special arrows, so the way I see it you either get rid of special arrows and have mages imbue arrows with spells or you just avoid magebows altogether. That being said, if it can be done well it's a concept I would love to see, I just think it can't be done well.Dhiro wrote...
How does a stave longbow hybrid works? o_O
Anyways, mine would all be refinements on current weapons, mostly staves. Battlestaves, but instead of just adding a combat animation for when enemies get close actually allow it to double as a sword. Same thing with bows, would love Arrow-style bow combat (or even just Legolas-style if that's too much) perhaps with the ability to wield a knife, perhaps smaller than current daggers. Speaking of knives, would love to see throwing knives, perhaps make them a consumable like special arrows. Would also love an ability to throw daggers, but then have to fight one-handed for a cooldown period. Would like to see smaller staves that could be wielded at the same time as a knife or one-handed sword. Would like to see a return of dual-wielding warriors that can fight with two longswords (or other one-handed weapons) like Ariane. Finally, would like them to fiddle with stats so that weapons that don't do as much damage as swords, like maces and mauls, have more utility and are actually a viable option. Essentially the direction they went in Dragon Age 2 with weapons, I want them to go back to Dragon Age Origins and then go as far as they did in DA2 in the other direction.

But what kind of self-respecting mage uses a wand anyway?PsychoBlonde wrote...

Crossbows would be appreciated, though they have to actually make them semi-useful, differentiate them from bows a bit.

The sneaky kind. I would imagine that apostates on the run wouldn't want to give away that they're mages by carrying a staff around. Wands are easier to hide.

I care more about the underwear my character will be wearing than what weapons they use lol. As long as it's not huge/ridiculous/buster-sword then I don't care.
I kinda wish that they made it so that many staves could be mistaken for walking sticks, that they weren't obviously magical ones. Nevertheless, most Templars can tell a mage on sight, and from there it's not hard to figure out which ones are apostates. Everyone else is probably smart enough to not engage magi unless they're backed by quite a few soldiers.
Also, I was quoting an easter egg from Witch Hunt.

-Crossbows. Good for shooting chevaliers and templars, I'm sure.
-Blade on a stick. I liked that mages could have then in DA2.
-Something similar to a main gauche. A parrying dagger/swordbreaker as the off-hand weapon.
-Flail. Yeah, I realise it'd be hard to animate.
-Knuckles. A way for fighting 'bare-handed' to be possible.
-'Magic bows'. Ssimilar to how Dragon's Dogma did it. It shoots bolts, similar to a staff, but it happens to look like a bow. Just to spice things up a little. The Inquisitor could just use the same basic animation as a rogue archer. Except when casting. I don't know, it could work.

Next up would be a single-weapon style without a shield (like a rapier). So the dual-wielding dagger rogue and the archer rogue are both cool. But another iconic rogue is the single-weapon rogue that just uses one weapon. The idea of playing the precision rogue seems cool.
As for polearms, I'd like to see them in the game as well, especially if it felt different than using a slashing two-hander.

Rapiers and sabres with the requisite feather hat and spec tree.
Conjured weapons TES style.

I like it when you apply a rune to a weapon and it shows the electricity, cold, or heat etc. They should have that visual effect.
I actually didn't like this... but maybe tone it down some. The weapon changes colors and glows subtly. SUBTLY lol
I want them to look more realistic. Yes the two handed swords looked silly. But the bows could also look ridiculous, with all kinds of bukly, absurd ornamentation on them. I like prettily crafted bows, but please nothing out of this world ridiculous!

One handed warhammers
One and-a-half handed swords aka. bastard swords. (two-handed weapon, faster than the greatsword but less damage)
Two handed spears
One handed spears
Halberds (The perfect weapon for the Orlesian chevaliers)
Flails
Shotswords, falchions
Warforks
Hybrids:
Goedendag (Spear-club combination, one-handed)
Missile:
Slings, one handed
Crossbows

Vigilance needs to make a comeback. Bonus if you can somehow give it back to the warden.
I agree the Vigilance and Starfang should make a reappearance. I don't think the warden will get them back because I remember in the epilouge of Awakening that Vigilance was stolen. Hopefully the new protagonist will claim them both.

Goedendags are just plain nasty weapons. Arming swords would be nice to see, and yes falchions (which are one handed no matter what DnD says, the 2h version is a grosse messer)
