What's the average length of Alpha Protocol?

As far as I remember, a bit shorter than ME , I'd say about 20 to 30 hours. It really depends on the way you play though, like every game involving a stealth element. Replayability is great though.

If you like dialogue oriented games, you could also try the walking dead or Heavy rain (ps3 only). Though these are stories more than they are games (and neither have a good replayability).
Vampire the masquerade bloodlines is another old game that could interest you (though be warned the last third of the game sucks).

Also, if you like companions, I suggest trying out The Old Republic. It's recent, gonna be free to play soon, and you get 8 different storylines, each with 5 different companions. But it takes a loooooooong time and the in between missions are kinda boring (like in every MMO).

Finally got around to playing through Alpha Protocol. Thanks again for making me aware of that game.

That game is damn good in my opinion. Basically being a mix between a modern day Batman and Captain America...with some Bourne identity thrown in.

It's a shame that they won't make a sequel.

I'll tell you what game you probably shouldn't play...Dead Island 2. I got half way through chapter 5 and gave up on it. Ironically, for the same reason I stopped playing Witcher2. Got tired of the same damned combat in the same damned swamp over and over and over again. That, and no real character growth.

I was thinking of Fall out 3, but instead got the newly released enhanced version of Baldurs Gate. Started it today, and my heart got all fuzzy warmy the first time Imoen shouted hi at me. THAT was the game that endeared me to Bioware.

You should wait until 2014 for Witcher 3 Wild Hunt.

But for now, i suggest you Warhammer 40.000 Dawn Of War 2. This game have more RPG than RTS like first Dawn Of War.

You can also play Jade Empire, interesing and from Bioware.

Also i recomend you, play some old school RPG like Morrowind, Oblivion, Gothic, Dungeon Siege, Risen, Risen 2 and Fable The Lost Chapters. :)

Deus Ex: Human Revolution. It's a really good game. Don't fit all your requirements, but it has a good story and you level up and can choose between powers.

Alpha Protocol.

Very similar to ME in terms of game mechanics (uses Unreal 3) but it's set in the world of spionage. The story takes place in Mid East, Rome, Taipei and Moscow (my favourite set of missions), allows very different approaches for missions as soldier (all guns blazzing), agent (silent infiltration, my favourite) or tech specialist (creating distractions or sabotages), high impact of decisions, 3 different personalities or approaches for conversations ("Bond", "Bourne" or "Bauer").

The game had some flaws but trully great potential, hope to see a sequel sometime.

Yep, came to post this game as well.

It's definitely one of my favorite games now...and I would have never even known about it if I didn't make this thread.

What's such a shame is why it won't get a sequel. People tried to play it like a shooter and its not. Its an RPG. Old school with die rolls and everything and no one seemed to understand that. They tried playing it like a shooter and were upset that they couldn't run 'n gun. Brilliant game brought down by people not understanding the mechanics.

Ohh I love that game. Too bad with the boss fights and technical issues.

Maybe it has already been mentioned but the Walking Dead Videogame Season 1.

Why?

Because the character interaction is stronger than Mass Effect, remember how you can start a relationship with Liara or pretty much anyone else with a few pick up lines? Not here, in fact you never get into a relationship, because there is so much depth, the game has the maturity to make you form friendships after dozens and dozens of interactions.

Spec Ops - The Line. It's an incredibly overlooked game but it has choices and a lot of gray in terms of it's morality like the Witcher. It has the same shootermechanics as Mass Effect mostly. I haven't played through it, but i heard that some of the endings make great statements about human behaviour and such.
