1. Purists
This group, which includes myself, views the introduction of Volus as playable characters as a giant ******-take. It's like Bioware doing a Saturday Night Live skit goofing on ME3 MP. The genesis of this whole thing was a funny joke in ME2 about a drug-addled "biotic god" and they've just ran with it. Purists are offended by this, drawing a distinction between things that are funny (e.g. Javik and his air-lock comments) and things that are silly (Volus as N7 operatives).
This group was hooked by the setting, atmosphere and lore of the ME universe and has respect for it. It's the same group that tell Asari lore jokes like "Did you hear about the automobile accident on Thessia? No? It wasn't a big deal, it was JUSTICAR..."
To this group, the skill set the Volus characters have is irrelevant, their objection has nothing to do with whether the kits as implemented are effective, their problem is principled and philosophical.
They read descriptions of Volus as "auxiliary" forces and view interpreting that to mean participating as a member of an elite combat strike team is an exercise in mental gymnastics that strains the limits of credulity. Trying to fit a square peg into a round hole as it were.
2. Pragmatists
This group views the Volus' (Voli???) lack of durability and overall DPS as a hinderance to overall squad efficiency and seeks to avoid having these characters in their parties. Their objection is with the design and implementation of the kits and the value, or perceived lack thereof, that they bring to the ME3 MP experience.
tl;dr - Purists think Volus are silly bordering on insulting. Pragmatists think Volus create squad inefficiencies. Both groups vote kick but for different reasons.

I played several matches as a Volus Engineer and no one kicked me. Even after I outscored a Krogan...

Yep, that's how it seems to me. They're under attack like everyone else and are willing to do their part. The lore argument simply doesn't stack up. Quite frankly it makes sense to have them in the game. Not wanting them in because they make the team far less effective is a valid complaint but I bet it won't be long before someone works them out, discovers how to use them to make everyone else indestructable, and people are calling for nerfs.afb2271 wrote...
I didn't like the idea of Volus at first because of lore but, given that they seem to only work well in support roles and they tend to die in frontal combat i feel like they fit with the lore. Besides, who in their right mind turns down a mobile healing station.

Yes they can be supportive, but that somehow gets lost by the fact they die in 2 hits from anything unless they are using their defense shield.
Volus need some buffs to health and overall survivability as they do not have damage in the current state. I dont kick people unless they are bad, so I will give you a chance as a Volus one game, but I would bet ANYTHING you will die again and again and then you will get kicked.

I got the wave 10 survivability medal on platinum. Their shields/health are fine IMO, what could use adjusting are the cooldowns.Deathcrave wrote...
Volus die instantly, they are not anywhere near on par with other kits.

They're a troll character bioware put in as a joke, since they probably want to end ME3MP with a bang, and they're entirley useless. if anything they are support characters like Demolishers or Justiciars but they can't fight worth a ****
