I love the Volus and seriously love the Drell point

No Volus will ever taint my screen. Either I boot them or I leave simple as that.
Reading these sort of "crossing arms, making declaration" posts, I'm seeing a pretty strong resemblance to conservative public response to social change. Just saying.

Other players searching for games have no right to expect the team will be to their liking.

If your looking for political statements then this isnt the right place.
I made a singular statement of my personal preference and I am holding to it. I dont care what others decide to do with the Volus. Play with them for all I care, I just wont.

One of her power evolutions allows her to knit mittens and warm booties for the icy maps. You know how grandmas are.next DLC, Admiral Hacketts grandmother character, which can only equip shotguns and moves around in a wheelchair

A fourth and efficient team member putting out some serious DPS would be peferable.
My mic will be on, and the kick button will be ready.
Once you see it, you'll know that it was I who brought down the final judgment
+45% damage expose effect on bosses, faster team cooldowns, shield healing. And they're just as capable of equipping a good gun as any other class. Volus with the Locust, Harrier, or GPS? I think so!

Anyway, I hate Volus but from what I've heard, I'm willing to try them out, regardless, I'm NOT going to vote to kick anyone just for commiting the crime of .... *gasp*... picking a character from the selection screen.
EDIT: This weekend's operation, play with an all volus squad!

I think that the lobby leader has a right to decide what kind of game he wanted to play. So please respect those wishes.
Other players searching for games have no right to expect the team will be to their liking.
Every player has the right to expect a team to their liking. It doesnt mean they will always get it. And when it doesnt happen then either you boot and find somebody new or you leave and play with others.
Either way you are able to actively contribute in the making of each and every team you play on. If you dont like a particular character or player being on the team then you have the option of doing something about it.
Which is what I do when I see those turd balls show up in lobbies.

The problem is, if you dont want to play with them, that is fine, but thats on you. You should be the one waiting for a game, not the other person.

You know that's pretty childish? It's like seeing ****** on the street, shooting them off and saying "They ruin my life!!!"

Just report them for griefing. Then that cancer will taper off soon enough, like missile glitchers.
How is it greefing when you are acting upon a personal preference? I dont like playing with Krogen so I either leave or boot. Thats not greefing its expression of personal preference.
If you want to leave fine. But you don't have to right to deprive another person of playing a class they want just because of your bratty intolerance.
Especially if the classes are actually useful on the battlefield.
I have every right considering it is also my gaming experience, not just yours. Its no different than booting somebody for taking till next year to ready up. You mess with my gaming experience and I will do something about it.
Its not greefing in the least.
Also if one of those crappy characters happens to appear in an ongoing game of mine I will quit as I refuse to play with them.
The ONLY way having a Volus on your team negatively affects your gaming experience is that you have to acknowledge his existence. Whereas a person who gets kicked as a Volus, just doesn't get to play it period.
So you really have no argument there.
Feel free to quit though, you're within your right there.

I don't know if you realize this, but it takes 3 votes to kick someone, not one. It's absolutely absurd to claim that they should all find a new game without the Volus.

I'll make it easy for you, go ahead and report me now 'cause if votekicking Volus is wrong, I don't wanna be right...
Oh yeah, one more thing, if my votekick attempt fails, I categorically refuse to revive any downed Volus teammate. Creds be damned...
Now there is a good reason to kick someone, intentionally sabotaging the team's chances for success. Way worse than playing a "joke" character.
Pretty sure that's a legitimate reason to report someone too, since it can be viewed as griefing.

It is is it? Comparing a choice not to play with a particular character in a video game is akin to hate crime? Freaking Wow...Mr Cloud wrote...

I'm going to play them and have fun. I just recall a couple days ago that, along with many "smell my greatness"es it was bandied about that if one doesn't like Volus, they should kick them from the lobby, and I knew the moment somebody actually did that there'd be a whine post. It is petulant but so is this whole thing.Zjarcal wrote...

Mommy, mommy, I don't like what he did!
It is more efficient to just keep shooting than to revive the liability. Doing the efficient thing is not a reportable offense, and believing that you are entitled to revives is childish.

Umm they are taking up a spot on the team that can be far better filled by another character which has a higher DPS as well as survivability. Hell yes they negatively affect my gaming experience. I dont care what you say about their abilities, they are a liability in any game as they have no durability, no offensive worth.
I play as a AJA alot and I am a supporter through most of the game with my bubble and spamming reave to set up BDs. I rez people all the bloody time and my bubble provides not only DR but DI to mooks within its range and lets me set off my own BDs. And I dont have to worry about going down from a stiff breeze cause my shield and health are decent.
I have no issue with their abilities. My issue is with the species themselves. They have absolutely no business being in any sort of combat roll what so ever.
