"Party member shall I be, why not have me? Me and my brethren are wise and can defend thee. We have different elements that make us. We crush enemies that go against us. So, party member shall I be, why not we?"

I stood tall whiles many died, I won many wars while many tried, My bark and branches have experienced more than the oldest sunrise. Me  in your party makes you wise.

Given the problem animating it, it would have to be a sapling. Or a bonsai tree. So don't be a sap and start pining for it. Just leaf the matter alone.

I find this a great deal funnier than I probably should have

Er, trees aside, I'd rather have a party I can take with me to have a drink in the nearest tavern.

I mean, I can just imagine walking into the tap room with the super exotic party members some people keep suggesting here.

You walk in.
The barkeeper stares at you and stops cleaning the mugs.
The piano player stops playing.
The patrons stop talking and stare at you also.

And then you just cheerfully tell them: "What's up? Never seen a walking tree, a desire demon, a darkspawn and a were-nug before?"

can i have a were-nug?:D i want a were-nug!:innocent: can i have a were-nug please? :crying:

I LOVED the rhyming tree in Origins. He/it was hands down one of my favorite characters.

Make the default main character a tree.

How would sex with your companion work though? It would hurt like hell regardless of which gender you're doing it with.

As long as it's the rhyming tree, I am 100% on board.

I heard this before and people still bought the game they said they weren't going to buy. People always complain or disapprove of the wrong things. There are at least 30 to 40 things I disapprove of on this site but I know they won't keep me from buying the game.

Some people play as Human, as Elves, Mages, and you might like the Dwarf. This shouldn't both you or anyone else because you have what you want and they have what they want. What's so bad to have a creature or group as an allies? This is puzzling to me.

It's gonna hurt at first, but at the end of the night they will be begging for more!

Demon? - Well, the mad trees, sure, the rhyming tree could have been a spirit, too

also: we could have those trees as stand ins for golems (if someone did destroy the anvil of the void) after all they are pretty hard to kill...except for fire-mages :)

greetings LAX
ps: i love "strange" (as in "you have not had them before") allies, even more if they are capable (the trees surely are and if mages protect them from fire they are as effective as golems...even more if they have some form of tree-abilities like rooting etc.)

yes let's have the 10 ft tall trees as companions, that won't be a complete clusterfork of clipping disasters let alone how completely ridiculous it'd look

This only takes 5 seconds to figure out why it'd be a terrible idea, so unles the topic creator types super fast i'm wondering how it took longer then 5 seconds to not see what a mes this idea was?

I'm also guessing you know "Dragon Age has a new engine to allow us to add things the fans want". This is from a developers mouth.

what do we see in this video?

youtu.be/FIg4y-KQVoc

Trees!! In doesn't take from the game and Dragon Age has a superior engine.

I don't know where you guys keep getting the companion and LI from, Shale or Dog never has either.

So you really like sentient trees and LOTR. Dragon Age much like all fantasy already lives in the shadow of Tolkien, why start making it more similar? I thought the olyphants were great, but I don't want a baby one in my DA party.
