Human Warrior Crit Bug?

After playing through Ostagar I noticed that my crit chance was only 2.20% where as Alistairs was 5.20%, I un-equipped all items to find that Alistair seems to have a base crit score of 3.00% compared to the PC who gets 0%.
So I reloaded my other game to check the other Warrior companions, and sure enough all of them get a 3.00% base critical chance, regardless of their cunning score.
Why does the PC get shafted like that ? its a fair difference, that makes the 'Hero' PC weaker than its companions. Is this just a bug, or is it meant to be like that for some bizaar reason?
I really wanted to play a finesse Rogue, but i object to playing a 60+ hour game only to have my character look identical to what they did at the start of the game, but with a purple tint... oooh. Kind of kills the game really. Starting to go off this game pretty rapidly.

If I'm reading this right your primary beef with the game is that the starting armor looks too similar to the ending armor on a Rogue character. Have you considred that the primary distinction between an opening game rogue and an end game rogue is not apperance but damage output? It's not a dress up game, these characters are out to hurt each other.
Yes your right, but.. although there are only a few variations for other armour types medium armour gets 3 different skins straight off from ostagar, chain, scale and splint. Massive armour has several top level sets that although basically the same, actually look different, Effort, Jugganaught, Warden Commander, and soon the Kings armour.
I have never played an RPG that has such limited choice of apperance is all. The concept art shows many variations of light armour, but we just got skirt or trousers, brown or purple-ish brown.
And RPG's are meant to be dress up games, your meant to be able to customise the appearence of characters.
My original point was more a question about Warrior's actually, I just went of on a side track. PC Warriors seem to not get a crit chance bonus that NPC ones do. 3.00% Crit chance with no weapon equipped for NPC's. Why is this?

You haven't played a lot of RPGs then, I take it?Cranky Weevil wrote...

Are they completely naked? No other armor/rings/etc that could increase it? Hm, I'll have to check it myself, curious. My original point was more a question about Warrior's actually, I just went of on a side track. Yes completely nude, no epuipment at all. Nothing. I tried restarting with a new chararter, and same issue. Both Alistair and the Sten have 3.00% base critical, and I have 0.
As for RPG's.. i have played quite a few. Older RPG's yes, apperance was more limited, but we don't have those limitations any more... it would be easy for them to add variety.. they just didn't. Drake scale armour, could for example, hace a scaled appearence perhaps? rather than just being identical to studded leather.
All Im saying is that the light amours suck compared to the Heavy and Massive armour. Both of which clearly had more work and thought put into them. I read a discussion about it the other day and most people felt the same as I did, too little variety for light amour. I really was expecting alot more from this game.. I know hype should never be believed, but this game got such rave reviews I was expecting something pretty good. The game however feels very out-dated, with terrible graphics for a recent release, and not much in the way of variety.

I didn't even know it was a bug, which it most definitely seems like it is since every other game mechanic points to bioware making sure the PC is the most powerful in the group, which this obviously runs counter to.
Does it? I mean crit vs. crit sure but with a higher base damage and attack score I cannot help but feel the PC is still vastly superior to party members on net.

RPGs aren't meant to be dress up games, not visually at least. RPGs have always been about playing the role, not having it spelled out for you. Their origins lay not in graphics or visuals but in numbers and equations, the earliest precursers of RPG games having no GUI or visuals at all. To lament the graphics in an RPG as if they matter to the core of the game is to miss the point, perhaps you have this mistaken for a first person shooter where the graphics actually have a direct effect on gameplay? At any rate the observation that there are not very many light armor skins is absolutly correct and it would be more visually impressive if there were more. More distressing in my mind is the lack of variety in light armor stats. It would be nice if there were stat options other than dexterity and fire resistance for light body armor, for example.
In part I agree, however I dont see how having a varied and good looking array of apparel for characters is having things 'spelled out for me' I was in fact trying to do exactly what you said, and 'play the role'. The role of a slightly dark duelist/assasin, and the armour/clothes just don't match that role. It would have been better for BW to spend time making better armour than some cheesy 'Brothel'.
As for the graphics... I have not played an FPS for some time, I don't like shallow short lived games. Obviosly this is not going to match Crysis or the such, but the scenery in this game is more PS2 than modern game. Thats just my opinion. I paid £40.00 for this game so I will still play it.
It was down to the modders to fix Oblivion and Fallout 3, they too sufferred badly from lack of variety, but with the mods they were awesome.

I never said that the PC still isn't clearly superior to the companions. What I said was that, quite clearly, the crit damage runs counter to every other stat that bioware has stacked in your favor. It doesn't make any sense for them to stack everything in your favor except for crit.
