I hate, hate, hate, hate, hate that they're ultra-rare. A week of buying PSPs and still no Biotic God.

Considering that they can't shoot over cover, grab over cover, vault over cover, attach to cover, and have low weapon damage, their shields are way too weak, even when fully upgraded.

Although the Volus have an obvious support role they can also be played aggressively . In essence they have four powers. The mini cloak allows them to sneak up on enemies & kill them. The new drill round allow them to shoot from behind a wall. Being height challenged makes game play a lot more difficult but damn are they fun & CUTE. First time my Volus died and rolled down an incline I couldn't stop laughing. Almost as funny as three Volus heavy meleeing one trooper to death.

I can not wait until the Volus Vanguard unlocks I want to scream cannonball when I charge!

(After downloading the DLC I saw a bunch of classes beyond a bunch actually, the next day they were gone but come to find out Bioware is slowly releasing them. I am glad to have found this out because I thought I was dreaming them up/ going crazy)

Love 'em! :3
I couldn't stop laughing the first time I played as a Volus Engineer. It was so awesome, running around recon mine-blasting collectors on hazard-dagger.

They're well implemented and it's good to see them contributing just like everyone else. Also, this is my +1 for Elcor and Hanar operatives.. and Rachni! Seeing how you implemented the Volus I am certain you could implement these guys as well in a good way.

except..

a) they have huge shield defence (perfect to stop rockets or strong shots) as HARD MELEE
B) Light cloaking  on light melee.
c) you can spam shield restore like a boss.

also, nothing more hilarious than screaming LET's ROLL! while rolling everywhere as a volus. XD

Sorry if this has already been asked.

Does the volus Shield Boost stack with the stim pack/demolisher pylon/geth turret?

the description says they stack, but maxed at 90%
so
if other sources are already protecting to 50%, the shield boost will
only give 40% to a max of 90%. and not 50% like it should.

aaalso, best acompluishment?
survived round 9 as volus on silver when all team down.. against collectors.. took me almost half hour D:
shield spam ftw!

The Volous are fun.

Due to their short roundness, I named named my Volous Engineer 'Rollo' after the candy. After hearing my Volous Adept shout "Payday!" after a mission, I named him 'Payday'; also after the candy.

a)Doesn't last long/ hard to time if you aren't the host.
b)Doesn't last long
c)Not if you're actually using other powers.

Same here, the Volus are a welcome addition to the MP roster. I have to admit at first I was concerned about their inclusion being nothing but a joke but Bioware did an excellent job in explaining why they are able to fight.

If your species has control over galactic banking you can be pretty sure they can afford some nice toys. I would like to see what Bioware could do with the Elcor / Hanar, should they chose to implement them.

That being said I would prefer to see some of the existing races get some lovin' (Brand new "Never Before Seen powers, new skins, models, animations, ect.) Geth Hopper kit before Hanar Spectre please.

I've been playing a lot lately and got both Volus (I want the damn Turians) promoted the Volus adept and re-spec it without adding anything to stasis, and focus on fitness and shield boost, when i got to level 16 or so the skill points showed as -17 (aprox, i don't remember exactly the number but it was negative and above 14)

every time i leveled up it went down to -13, -9, and so on , but when I reached level twenty the total point sum was normal (84 i think)

BUT, when i got the Volus Engineer i did the same thing, this time skipping proximity mine since i consider Recon mine to be more useful, and it happened the same thing, but this time when i reached level 17 it suddenly handled me 66 EXTRA SKILL POINTS, which of course maxed out every skill while still being level 17.

This only seems to happen with Volus, i trained a Destroyer skipping the Missile launcher skill and still got the normal 84 skill points

Did anyone else has experienced this? is it fixable? Is this an isolated issue?

I'm loving both of my volus characters. I have been hoping they would make them. They are the 'healer' class of ME3 multiplayer. The healers that blow **** up. :-)

It does make sense that they are Ultra rare :)  Seeing as most Volus detests violence, I'm guessing these Volus were some kind of police officers who recived military training for law enforcement or something..

They are lots of fun :)   And very different to play.

You need to add point's for restoring peopel shields, Shield boosts, Geth turret, what ever.
Support roles should be awarded with at least a few points.

It would also make people support their teammates more.

before this DLC I never thought the volus would be put in multiplayer because they are more vulnerable from a suit puncture than a Quarian, but they proved to be invalueble asset to any team that wants to stick together and survive; However, I don't think that they within the theme of this pack's name like the other characters did. I know it doesn't really matter, but personally I would release the volus in a pack called Desperation with Elcor, Hanar and maybe an asari matriarch, but don't worry they're awesome anyway.

I'm loving the Volus Engineer that I unlocked today, but I have to say that I agree with shodiswe; there should be some exp for boosting shields and saving the day. This class is doomed to be on the bottom of the points scored for every round, despite being obviously useful.

The volus are doomed to be unplayed after the new wears off unless their offensive abilities are improved. Particularly the adept.

One thing that is lacking is that you should give it like 50 or 80 points for every block of shield restored for allies

reward helping your team mates, lots of other games do the same

there really is not no reason to not give exp for healing? it helps the other guy kill a monster by saving him half the time, so reward it really

also adept needs buffing but eng is fantasic

Bit late on the ball on this one, but thanks for creating this thread, Bioware. Before it, there were approximately infinity-billion threads on the Volus. Well-played, Bioware, well-played.

Also, Volus are awesome, generally. I prefer it when they actually stick to the support role, because they're worse at basically everything else than every other class in the game. Was with one earlier that must have kept an ear out for 'Shields down!' because he was always quick on keeping us alive. I wanted to do the Krogan headbutting ritual, but I worried that he would misunderstand and take it as a sign of anger rather than a sign of respect.

I did that in a few platinum games, my point's went doen terribly thoguh, but the results on the Squad was phenomenal :)  Sheilds were keept up and they had damage reduction when they needed it, I even hit it jsut as the enemys bighitters were incomming and it made the fights look really easy.

If the Volus dies for soemreason.. Banshe jumping in from behind to break their puny little necks... then the squad starts dying because they were used to taking little damage and not worrying about it too much because they had gotten used to it. It's all good as long as the squad sticks together.

What's really needed is healing points.... doing that shield boosting and focusing on it gets you low on DPS and kill points. I don't even think there is an achivement for shield boosting or those biotic balls for the Adept...

Having one Volus on the team for a Platinum game is absolutely worth it, the poor Volus won't get many points though unfortunately if it's doing it's job.

I love these guys! I'm all about the Recon Mine. I just wish it were possible to get an Elcor, I understand trying to get a large, slow, quadruped to work in the game mechanics would be a massive headache.
