Battle reports confirm that the Volus have indeed joined the war efforts against the Reapers.

What do you think about having this new race available?

I think that the MP team should have to run their ideas past the SP team.  Between this and the typhoon firing modern day bullets for some reason, I have to wonder if the MP team knows much of anything about Mass Effect's lore.

I love the support role they fit into so perfectly. Between the Tac-cloak, the fact that he legitimately rolls, biotic orbs, and that shield business I find that they are amazing.

I totally get why the Volus are now on the scene, and why they are 'ultra rare'. For those of you who didn't know this, the devs have already verified that the 'ultra rare' status of the Volus does not take up an 'ultra rare' weapon slot in the store, so relax.

Except it does in the simplest sense.

Does it take a slot in your pack?

If yes: It's taken the slot of a potential Ultra Rare Weapon in your pack.

Actually, even getting another UR in a pack doesn't stop you from getting yet another. I got a Volus Adept AND my first Harrier in the same pack yesterday.

I'm pretty sure that you don't understand how the odds work.. You have a 10% chance at an UR gun in a PSP. Adding other content that 'could take a potential slot' doesn't lower that chance at all. So no, it doesn't take any chance away.

Also, fix the bug where shield boost will render a squadmate unable to fire his weapon until he does a melee attack.

It's annoying as hell when squadmates follow me trying to help, but are actually undermining my ability to kill enemies

Ahaaa! I was wondering why my Claymore suddenly decided to stop shooting at random times yesterday.

It was the shifty-looking cow volus.

Otherwise, I've still not warmed up completely to them. Honestly, I was so much against them but looking at them trying to run next to me, dying constantly and being well... kind of cute honestly, I started warming up to them.

The curse of being a girl... make something cute, and I'll like it in the end. :o

And didn't the single player team change alliance weapons from infinite ammo to needing thermal clips?  Besides, the typhoon 'ammo' as you call it is small thermal clips being ejected so what is the problem.

I enjoy having a Volus on my squad. A Volus engineer and my lvl 15 Human soldier did a Bronze run on my first play through against the Collectors on FB Dagger. If it hadn't been for the little dude being there I would have faced some serious challenges successfully extracting.

Thermal clips are not ammunition.  The guns still operate the same way, they just changed the way they deal with overheating.  The typhoon is spitting out shell casings, not small thermal clips.  That's an incredibly stupid reasoning that the fanbase came up with for why it operates like a modern gun while still working on thermal clips.  The fact is much simpler: the people who designed it don't know how guns in ME work.

I wanted Bioware to create a Volus trading post where you could exchange excess ammo/gear/weapons. Only in flights of fancy did I think of taking the battlefield as  A BIOTIC GOD!!. Thank you guys. Uhh.. not to be greedy, Just putting it out there....  BLASTO THE JELLY FISH and ELCOR LIVING TANKS... don't rule it out because technically Blasto is a fictional character just make Hanar Spectre, heavy melee is tentacle garrote w/biotic pulse. See I've already done all the hard work now just tell the computer to make it; that's how it works right   ;)

This One has no time for your solid waste excrement.

Badassedly: Whatever I'm few days from retiring; then I won't have to deal with your cowboy ways.:P

This One mocks you for "retiring" from a video game. This One laughs at your "rules". This One has a gun for every tentacle.

Jokingly Badassedly: Tell it to the Drell they will care, I'm thinking about the little cabin north of Vancouver I just made last payment.
Curiously: No I don't watch the news, Why:unsure:

This One now understands your "retirement" and congratulates you. This One is still laughing at Drell for being squishier than This One is.

This One does not know of what "news" you have spoken of. This One will find out in This Ones own way.

I wasn't sure how they would be used, but I'm glad their a support class and they don't have any melee moves (it seems logical this way). It's cleverly done. Also I love rolling to the rescue.

Revive teammate > restore their shields > Feel awesome

Don't have one unlocked yet but I saw one in FB Dagger Hazard and I thought it was awesome. I saw another on FB Giant an Engineer, he too was freaking awesome, that recon mine was blowing my mind I thought it was the Geth Bomber at first...

I also like the description on the Volus Adept stating that his powers are nothing short of "godly"

I really don't understand this issue. They're under as much threat as everyone else and if they've got some useful skills to add (and the ones they have don't seem too at odds with the volus, unless Biotic God aside there's some codex entry I've forgotten saying they don't have any biotics) then of course they'll fight, even if it's not their preferred method of sorting out conflicts. They seem to die easily, which is consistent with the lore about them.

Yes i understand that, but what i am telling you is, the things you are calling ammo cases are spent thermal clips. They are small and used one per shot to visually simulate the look of a belt fed machine gun as per 'the rule of cool' . They are not the weapons ammo, which is still shaved off an internal block unless otherwise stated.

I wish Biotic Orbs was on a different character. I love the power but pretty neutral on the character. It is hard to carry with a Volus, particularly on maps without walls to provide cover like Condor. It wasn't as bad as I thought it would be but I would have rather had different characters. If there was just 2 of them it would be easier to take.

Loving the Recon Mine. Watching a group of little red figures gather and then fall down dead is rather satisfying.

The Volus are a great addition. They bring something to the table that is hard to come by, and they're fun to play given how differently you look at a match from their perspective. If I had any gripes, it would be their shields could be stronger. I'm fine with them being fragile, but shield technology strikes me as something they would be heavily invested in for ground troops, even if they lack a powerful military.

Overall though I like the little guys. It makes me smile when I see one running around, especially if they're dodge rolling around. ACTION VOLUS YEEEEAAAAH!

Thank you Devs for adding a Volus Adept to Multiplayer! I asked for them
on my multiplayer wishlist post about 6 months ago, and I am gratefully
appreciated that y'all listened. Thank you for listening.:D
