After a few matches, I found both of them pretty OP.
The Praetorian has been the nightmare of all players back to ME2, and I just found that they spawn too much of them even in silver, not saying gold or platinum.
The grabbing behaviour is also insanely "efficient". It's a walking nightmare for all vanguards(including the havoc and Shadow), as it will grab you instantly even it's flying or not. Even when you're striking its ass it'll immediately turn over to grab you.
The laser beam and the cluster grenades won't be your main concern, but that heavy melee really scares you to **** when it jumped to you. The next second you're stunned and grabbed.
I doubt if its health and barrier are even thicker than Banshee's.
The only good news is that it's relativelty easier to stun so there;s still a bigger chance for you to be saved when working as a team. But when it got processed, it just got way harder to kill.

Scoin: Mother of god make it simple it's a brute with cannons
That cluster grenade/ sharpnel round cannon is pure insane. I'm not sure if it's a lag or it's AP in nature, once I was playing Silver to test out my vanguard-style Havoc(hosting), the scion and I was both near death. I used my health-maxed stimulation pack(?) to bring back my shield. I saw my shield was fully restored but that cannon OHKO me, WTF.
The melee wasn't too strong, and I still haven't been grabbed by it so I'm not sure it it has one or not, but though it moves slow, with combination of the cluster grenades, its deadly(though not so accurate) cannon and its thick health, still this thing is a walking nightmare.

Please tell me what you guys think.
PS: Sorry for my poor english since I'm a not native english speaker.:P

I'll be honest i haven't got far enough into collecters to see them, but i've found the cerb dragoon is very strong with smash ohko's shields and multiple spawn per wave.

The Praetorian and Scion melt when debuffed by the new Volus Adept, and that is all I need to know. Also, getting sync-killed as a Volus is by the Praetorian is worth the death, it looks pretty funny.

They are bordering on OP, but I wouldn't say they actually are. Challenging, yes. Kind of annoying, yes. But still tolerable and can be handled if the squad focuses on them.

But man, the scions cluster grenade thing is pretty ridiculous. Easy to dodge with the new turians though. :D

They are challenging without being Geth(also known as absurd stunlocking). It's nice.

classes that rely on melee or close range attacks get absolutely wrecked by the collectors. Too many staggers, Praetorian is death incarnate, and possessed abominations instajib you.

However Collectors are very susceptable to biotics. So, what we've learned is some classes work well against some enemies and fail hard against others. I'm okay with this (even if it means I can't play my N7 Shadow against collectors *sad face*)

I would however like to see the damage of the Praetorians laser toned down a little. A spammable ranged attack that can insta-down me when I'm at full barrier/health isn't cool.

Yeah at this point I still prefer Scions/Praetorians to Geth any day, and that's after all 4 of us went down simultaneously from a single Scion while doing an escort objective.

Its more the possessed enemies that suck.

Especially the Abominations. When they explode, it sounds like the Cain Launcher went off.

It is easy to dodge, though. You (sometimes) see it coming from a mile away.

They seem a little too tough for their powers (the praetorian freaking flies straight to you faster than a banshee).

But I'll leave it to the rest of the community. I've said my piece.

Scions are the only ones I really have a problem with. Abomination burst amuse me enough for me not to care.

I've only played one match on Reactor/Silver against the collectors, but I get the distinct impression BW may have tried to do a little too much with them:

The Scions aren't so bad, provided you keep your distance, I can live with that, but the Praetorians spawn far too often even on Silver. The other units are fine for the most part, I even like the unique mechanics of the abominations, but what really makes it concerning for me is that multiple units can be possessed simultaneously (unlike ME2).

In ME2, possession turned a standard mook into a boss, and you had to turn your attention to it - much like the current boss units in ME3 MP (Banshee, Phantom, Atlas, Prime, etc). While the new possession mechanic is less dramatic, it still has a similar effect - only now in the later waves you have to deal with multiple Scions, multiple Praetorians, plus the usual trooper, captains and abominations - more than one of which may well be possessed. I just got the impression you end up with too many "boss class" enemies simultaneously.

Don't get me wrong, I'm glad the Collectors are back, and I hope to enjoy them, but they appear (at first try at least) to be a little too steep, compared to the other factions.

The entire Collector faction is outrageous.

I've only played one match (Ghost/Gold), but I didn't have a problem with them as a whole. Two of us (Kroguard and me, a TGI) extracted, and it was really fun to not have control of the situation at times. In fact, I agree with some others that the Possessed Abominations are a real threat. Watch out for them.

Let's let the new content sink in before we call for nerfs. That's how I feel at least. I like having a faction that is more organic and difficult for it.

Also, on Gold, the number of Praetorians was not so high. No more than Geth Primes or Atlases when fighting the others. Banshees still scare me more.

I think it's perfect the way it is. Had no problems so far, but I've only gotten to play them a couple times, as my damn 360 keeps freezing, ever since this new patch >:c

I think it's just the newness of the faction. We don't quite know how everything behaves yet, and haven't figured out how to most effectively counter what they do. I'll give it a while for everyone to get used to them before I start thinking they're OP.

Scions can be annoying, but aren't too bad unless possessed (cluster grenades are painful. You're forced to move and take enemy fire while repositioning). Praetorions are the real problem of the Collector faction. Very durable, can **** you up if you're not careful, and unlike all other large boss units, they are fairly mobile.

I've been playing against collectors on silver and gold and I have to say that the turian infiltator specked for assault riffle damage wrecks everything(at least with the harrier-i have it at 1)

Ok, so I play Gold/Silver. Tested Collectors on Silver and felt like a complete noob. We did one hack on Reactor where it was just non-stop death, non-stop death. I think I died like 10 times in a row with the demo... Central hack on London/Reapers/Gold has never been that bad for me. -_-' (thank god, we extracted all times otherwise my ego would have been severely hurt. Not that it isn't now)

Those Scion grenades! To tell you the truth, I did not find the Pretorian that intimidating, they seemed to drop a lot faster than Banshees. But DAT SCION. xD
