I don't say I don't approve of camping - just that i'm glad we now don't have maps where the default assumption is that it will be camping. On Giant (I think) for example, it's possible to do a bit of camping at the top of the stairs. However, you are exposed on the right so you can get hit easily enough. That I approve of - camping but not a place you can just stay indefintley.

As for being in the army - in case you didn't notice, this is a game; not actual war.

@ka243 - that's a fair point. I'd be interested too. I didn't know about melee charachters ignoring the decoy. Some abilities should probably be revisited. Engineer is one class i've never really played so can't comment much on it.

What a noob i was on f/b giant, running round for like 5 waves looking for a trap or expecting something to randomly go down.... then it clicked, its the lightning flashes from the cannons and the dark O.o please make harbinger a hazzard, i was kinda hoping that you had after see'ing the trailer, more traps and hazzard maps FTW! plz do all the maps including dlc maps there fun and im already missing reactor!

would of been sweet if when a collector was possessed we got ASSUMING DIRECT CONTROL.. what happend there, its not the same! i'd hear that while playing me2 on insanity and my balls would jump back up inside me! XD

If you're playing a hazard map in a u/u/u game, do you get bonus xp for both the unknown and hazard?

Also, I would love to see the hazard maps flat out replace normal maps (as they are beautiful), as well as getting new hazards for the dlc maps. Pretty please?

Have to say I'm disappointed with Giant. Dagger was better since it still limited the player with some mechanic and made things more difficult to justify the bonus xp. Giant is just Giant again with lighting. No challenge added really. Free 15% xp.

I wasn't hoping for swarms of varen to attack, ok maybe I was. But there's no real hazard here...

All the other hazard maps so far have been excellent. I am actually scared of ghost now, which is a good thing! Does that damage scale with difficulty? And it only eats barrier/shields right?

Oh and I recall something being said about credit bonuses for hazard maps was that ever going to happen?

New hazard maps look substantially better with brightness toned down. At -3 they're good, -4 they're awesome and -5 they are BOSS.

I just wanna say the two latest hazard maps are awesome.
Giant is even more atmospheric than dagger, the 'lightning' flashes really add a huge amount to the experience.
And Ghost is awesome too, not just because of the awesome noir atmosphere, but because of how different the gameplay is. Having to avoid open areas really adds a lot.

I really hope all the maps become available all the time once we've cycled through them.
Like what happened with JEPs and PSPs.

Will not likely happen. It's alright if it's mostly just atmospheric to people who play it.

With a good team and coordination, just like you'd survive any other level at those difficulties.

The experience bonuses do not stack. (they're not set up to)

Hazard levels will not replace the regular versions of the levels. New hazard DLC levels have not been planned but we're listening to feedback. You never know. :)

I'm actually not sure about the damage scaling. I know it does in Reactor, but not sure about Ghost. They do only strip your shields, yes.

The credit bonus has been a question, but right now there is no credit bonus.

I don't know what that chance is. I don't decide things like that. I know getting all the levels is in the cards at some point.

Just to complete what you said above Jos.
Yesterday I was dying for Ghost rain. It seems to occur if you are in health gate only.
I was playing Gold.

Another random question now that I can't experiment with it.

Can a fury or slayer tele-dodge into and out of the reactor? Same deal I guess for a shadow who still has a lock on an enemy to perform shadow strike. I suppose that would always work though.

I just wanted to pop in and say I flippin' love the two new maps. So dark and atmospheric. They really have a different feel than the other maps. Giant in particular, with the guns going off and the lightning effect (one and the same, maybe), feels awesome. Ghost's hazard is pretty cool, keeps hunters from recloaking :). Gorgeous, too. I love the green highlights

And since you're taking feedback, +1 for more hazard maps :)

um about firebase acid,

its a bit much when on bronze wiht a lvl 20 kit evo'd for shields and health you get one shot by mooks during hack missions (especially wiht collectors) who like to hide out of sight and spam nades into the zone, wave 4 hack mission at the LZ and well it ended after not very long, seems like the wave budget for collectors is 10x larger than for other factions and fighting them on bronze /silver is harder than doing u/u/p used ot be before the dlc and additional balances

maybe set the rain on bronze to only take 1/4 of your shileds instead of insta stripping them completly, and for silver take half, with gold/plat doing full removal >>>>

I appreciate that and even though i strongly dislike the changes to white and glacier i appreciate you doing this thread and i do like the hazard maps.

I really think the new maps are strong contributors to the "unintended difficulty spike" other devs have talked about post dlc.

Could you please ask eric fangan to do a balance and balance changes q&a similar to this one?  

Would a "game mechanics" q&a thread like this one be possible in the future?  That would be really helpful too.

LOVING the hazard maps so far.

Sandstorm is Aesthetically engaging and i feel the need to constantly look everywhere to make up for the lack of vision.

Reactor is really tactical, and i will be sad to see it removed for the next hazard rotation as i think it trumps the hazardless version completely.

Ghost , with the Acid Rain is a very nice change from the ordinary version, the alternate colour scheme of the map is a big stand out, and i actually began to pay attention to the level design more and more, as i noticed that the Rain was coming through as patches.(I never noticed there were large overhanging structures in parts of the outdoor areas)

Giant: not really hazardous but it is visually stunning, and a refreshing alteration that totally revitalises the playing experience of the map. I have noticed that invisible targets are a bit harder to see though, so that is tricky.

Really looking forward to White and Glacier now, they are two of my favourite maps from the original six.

TL;DR : I really enjoy the variations of the new maps for their aesthetic and gameplay alterations.
And i look forward to playing them all.
