ok, so i have not played the new glacier map, but i have heard of it.... im just curious as to how the seeker swarm works, so ill give a few questions here and post more as i think of them

does it follow a certain route? (dont need to tell me the specifics, just yes or no would be nice)
how much damage per second does it do?
how large is it?
how fast does it move?

im asking these questions mostly because i wont be on for a while.............

I believe it gravitates toward the closest living being (friend or foe) rather than moving in a path.

Exact DPS idk, but it's minimal, just don't hang out in it.

It starts, I would say, only slightly larger than the seeker swarms of the collectors and moves around at what I would call a slow walking speed. However, if someone shoots the swarm, it will go into a frenzy, making it larger and quicker moving, by what I'd guess is maybe a 50-60% boost to both attributes.

These ain't exact numbers, and I'm not a bioware employee so... don't quote me. This won't hold up in court.

Now that I've seen them all:

I love the changes to FBW. The level feels less claustrophobic, and while I realize that the main idea was to reduce/eliminate farming, these changes seemed to add to the level and give it a new dynamic. I enjoy the new White. White-out White is just as awesome.

I don't like the changes to Glacier. These managed to seem like nothing more than a deliberate and swift kick in the farmer's wedding tackle. Didn't add anything to the level, really. It feels even smaller. But, I do like the electro-seeker swarm in the hazard version. Go figure.

<3Ghost - is nothing less than beautiful, both visually and in execution. The sound of nemeses out in the rain complaining is music to my heart.  The only thing that might make it more awesome in a completely random rain pattern.

Giant - I kept hoping there would be a random chance of getting struck by lightning. Or of passing thresher maws shaking the map on occasion and throwing off aim/staggering all, including enemies.

Dagger - Interesting hazard, and one that affects me, since I commonly snipe what I can see, even though I do not yet have a target acquired.

Reactor - I don't like this one - it looks like a nice idea, but it doesn't serve. There is too much going on for me to ever hear the reactor warnings. It has no meaningful effect on the enemies, but every PC build I've seen in there during a vent has been radioactive toast. Dead right there. I've also never seen it vent automatically. In PUGs this makes it nothing more than a griefing mechanism. If you want to make it totally nuts though, make some enemies who are caught in the reactor randomly Hulk Out and become more dangerous. 'Radioactive Brute' anyone?

And a parting note about Condor, though it has nothing to do with the hazard levels. It's bugged. It's always bugged. Please... please... fix it. Everytime we roll Condor, at least one person:

Cannot see any enemies and/or cannot shoot anything
Cannot find any ammo in several of the boxes/Ammo taking forever to respawn.
Cannot take cover
Must drop from the game and try to rejoin in order to correct the worst of the issues

Every time. If there were a "Anywhere but Menae" random location selection that would be cool too. Now we either manually cycle through the maps, or there is a collective groan when the random map selector sends us to Turian hell, followed by someone glitching out of the game.

^ Since when does snow pass through walls?

Okay, from the starting point on the landing bay; to your right is the huge divider/edge wall and it has a walkway with an ammo box at one end out in the open and leads to the new corridor extension following the wall. The snow actually comes through the wall on that walkway and even the sealed door before you get inside.

When I first ran into the Swarm hazard, I couldn't see them. The same thing happened with the Acid Rain hazard. There's something wrong when you initiate certain hazards, they're invisible to some people the first time they encounter them.

Is there any chance that these hazard maps will be coalesced for the weekend events?

I like what the team is doing as far as offering new maps with new hazards, but I also like hazard maps like Dagger and wonder if it could be playable during future weekend events.

Going so far as to make the hazard maps part of the weekend events would be great as well.

I want Ghost back. That's my absolute favorite map, and the hazard version really impressed me.

And for Vancouver, I was thinking heavy rain at night. Both the rain and the dark would dull out the greys of the area, making long distance sighting a challenge.

With Firebase White Hazard, I realized hunter modes flaws. That map makes it hard to see with Hunter Mode unless your inside.

But Id like to see Hazard maps for DLC maps, I keep thinking of what can be done on other maps that doesnt involve a Reaper in the background shooting laser beams at you. But Id like less visual Hazards and more damaging Hazards like Ghost and Glacier when and if you make the dlc maps into Hazards like the original 6

 Hello!

I am a HUGE fan of the environmental hazard maps!! You have literaly made me rediscover the first original 6 maps! Now, this is not a request... more of a wish. I would like to have environmental hazard on EVERY MAP!!! lol

Here are some ideas that I came up with:

- Fire Base Hydra: Dense fog

- Fire Base Rio: Knee deep flood in bottom levels lowers movement

- Fire Base London: Day time with blinding sun (a.k.a. Rio sun set)

- Fire Base Vancouver: Nightime and gusts of wind that staggers everything

- Fire Base Condor: Reaper laser attacks from distant giant reapers in the background

- Fire Base Goddess: Dark, night time, power outage, flashlights

- Fire Base Jade: Tropical storm

And I'll push this even further as to suggest 2 more maps for a future multiplayer DLC (unlikely)

- Fire Base Collector Ship
(Hazard: Blackout with flashlights)

- Fire Base Citadel
(Hazard: smoke screens and fires)

Have a nice day!!! :P

So... Now that we have had all six original maps "Hazard-ified" what's going to come on Tuesday? Reuse the hazards we've seen or are new ones in the works? (Apologies if this has been asked before, I can't be bothered to look through 25 pages of a thread at the moment)

I was wondering if you get extra XP for playing a hazard map even if you aren't hosting. Thought I saw that as the case in a lobby before, but didn't quite remember. Anyone?

Edit: Never mind. Figured it out. That's an affirmative

Hazard Ghost is awesome. I want it to stay in place of the regular Ghost. I haven't made up my mind on Dagger yet. Trying not to get geth hunted in the middle of a haboob wasn't very fun.

Q: Will all 6 hazard levels become available at the same time at some point?
A: Currently it is set up on a 2 level rotation basis, but we are and will be monitoring all the feedback we get on this topic.

Q: Are hazard levels part of the Unknown map rotation?
A: Yes, they are.

I hope I speak for many of us fans in this topic when I say 'Hazard maps = fun' :o

I hope they All get on permanent rotation, with more added soon!!!  It may even work well to add a 'RandomHazard Map' option to the mission selection tab to keep everyone happy :innocent:.  Or even 3 random map settings - 1 ea for hazard/standard, and another for both.  First idea is prob most effecient/user friendly for programmers and players both.

Either way great job on all the new additions!  I'm back in the game and will be staying for a while.  Keep up the good work, and keep the new stuff rolling out.
