 I got the thing at I and tested it on a SIlver match. I could not drop a single mook without running out of ammo/overheating. I am trying to figure out if this thing is a joke or not. A teammate has it at V and said it was just as awful. What on earth was BW thinking when they made the weapon?

Sorry, this thread cannot die. You cannot make a weapon that is a UR virtually useless.

Yeah, it is absolutely terrible. Attempting to use it on Gold is as painful to use as a low-level Phaeston; almost no damage per shot, a small clip, terrible recharge if taken down to 0 ammo, and the supposed armor bonus isn't noticeable in the slightest. I refuse to use this gun until a buff because it's plain torture on higher difficulties.

I could not even get half a health bar off a Collector on Silver.

At level X it's...Meh, still needs extended clip and heatsink for it to even remotely have a chance of killing things and not running out of ammo.

Agreed, The collector SMG is absolutely terrible. Bioware must have been like "This will be the greatest trolling ever!"

You're doing it wrong.  Use it with a Volus.

Dont have it yet. Dont want to waste anymore credits until BW fix the wasted character unlocks on Turians.

But I have the Collector sniper rifle at max. Thought it's pretty silly. Shoot for 1.5 sec, reload for 5.0 sec.
The new characters are great. But the guns, BW just trolling us.

Prothean Particle Beam Assault Rifle
- Damage increased from [17.2-21.4] to [19.2-25.8]

'Cause as soon as it got a whooping 4.4 extra damage, it went from "Worst UR in the game!" to "OMG BEST THING EVER!!!". I'm not even kidding...

A week later when already considered good, it got a "fix"/buff so it's ammo actually scales with level, making all PPR II - X's better. But it was already forgiven for it's sins by that time.


The new Collector stuff just needs the Prothean Particle Rifle treatment of actually figuring out how to use, getting small buffs if needed. Seriously, 4.4 damage, major? Those 10+ damage buffs on other weapons must be of Earth-shattering proportions then!

The CAR is 100x better than the CSMG.
