Does the SMG get an extended clip/mag mod? I'm pretty sure lack of that might be the problem for both Collector weapons.

After all the PPR goes from (Rank 1) 100 ammo to 180 ammo with a Extended Mag V attached... nobody uses the 100 ammo unmodded version for good reason.

magazine extension & at level X and half way through the clip it starts refilling again making it last even longer. I for one really like it. No ammo required, great stability, OK accuracy and weight. Might become my second favorite SMG after the Hurricane.

I could go do the same thing right now using a GI and the Geth Pulse Rifle, and make arrogant claims about how the gun is fine and everyone else is "doing it wrong" but I wouldn't be right.

'Cause as soon as it got a whooping 4.4 extra damage, it went from "Worst UR in the game!" to "OMG BEST THING EVER!!!". I'm not even kidding...

A week later when already considered good, it got a "fix"/buff so it's ammo actually scales with level, making all PPR II - X's better. But it was already forgiven for it's sins by that time.


The new Collector stuff just needs the Prothean Particle Rifle treatment of actually figuring out how to use, getting small buffs if needed. Seriously, 4.4 damage, major? Those 10+ damage buffs on other weapons must be of Earth-shattering proportions then!

a 4.4 damage buff to a gun that did about 20 per shot is a HUGE buff. thats a 20% damage increase. Use your math dude

I had great success with this weapon on gold. You must be misusing it.

Extended magazine + damage barrel + CC ammo type (explosive/disruptor/cryo) + character kit that benefits from not having to make trips to ammo box. What's not to like? What are you trying to do with it? DPS everything to death? Why would you even try to use it for that?

I get the feeling you're trying to use the CMG discussion as a guise to brag about something not worth bragging about.

only extended mag works. Dunno if it's intentional or not

The Collector SMG isn't that great, but the sniper is amazing. It is best to shoot in rapid bursts rather than hold the trigger until it overheats. It woks wonders with a Turian Infiltrator specced for weapon damage. I have killed almost all player sized Cerberus enemies on gold before it overheated.

Irrelevant, IMO. Hurricane requires trips to the ammo box. CSMG doesnt. Apples and oranges; different applications.

Collector SMG is ok at lvl 5 but u absolutely must use extended clip on that thing and put the AP barrel on there for good measure. Its fairly accurate so doesn't need stabilizer
