I've found two methods to take them out..
1. Biotic explosions (human sentinel do it well).
2. KROGAN CHARGE!!!! FOR TOUCHANKA!!! (hmm... not really :P )

The Collectors are tough. They require teamwork. A lot of teamwork. Having everyone scatter to the four corners of the map will get everyone killed real fast. Praetorians and Scions can be difficult to deal with unless you have anti-armor powers and weapons, then they become a cake walk.

Collectors are kind of easy actually, untill scions start spawning, then is automatic mission failure.

Gold Collectors are brutal. My whole team died except for me. The Ghost was an absolute beast, though. I have my Harrier IV to thank for that.

I think the health values are a little high, but so far I find them pretty entertaining. Their aggressive and forward mechanics force players to keep moving.

The only thing i would change about the Collectors is the Praetorians health. A slight decrease would sovle the problem

I would only nerf the Scions. Preatorians are hard to kill, but they're supposed to be, and spawn rarely. Also, missiles.

Scions are supposed to be the Ravager equivalent, but are way tougher from what I can gather, and are pure murder machines when possessed (those grenades!). They are no slouches in melee either, and can sync kill to boot.

Also, making the projectiles of the troopers and captains more visible would be appreciated. As of now my shields drop and I haven't the slighest clue as to how it happened because no tracers. Gimme tracers dammit!

I love how the people disagreeing with this failed to see the point.

These units are too strong compared to their counterparts, which they should be roughly equal to. They do more damage, are faster, and yet still have higher health. This is obviously in need of change so one faction isn't noticeably stronger than another.

And then on top of that Collectors have the possession mechanic to make them even stronger.

Disagree. They're fine how they are, boss units are meant to be meaty.

The one I agree is a problem is Scion. he is strong at range (problem to shoot from distance) and strong on melee (+ sync kill) = problem.

I have a feeling that half of the posters haven't even tried gold collectors let alone gold matches. Scions spawning from wave 2 IS a problem, provide that they serve the same purpose as a turret.

And not to mention the possessed state.

Exactly. Everyone is trying to bring opinion into this, but it doesn't apply. The fact is these enemies are significantly stronger than their cognates from other factions, even though the basic enemies aren't weaker and the possession mechanic exists. If anything, they should be weaker because of potential possession. Making them stronger was just silly and needs to be fixed.

Yes, fixed. It's a problem and saying "I disagree" means nothing in the face of actual numbers.

IMO, the boss units are fine, its the troopers and captains that all nail you to the wall and kill you in half a burst of fire.

I think both units' armor levels are fine, but I don't think boss units should be able to get possessed. That's just messed up.

The same goes for Reapers, which isn't new, and players can easily prioritize their targets.

Not with Scions spamming grenades around every 5 seconds beginning from wave 2 apparently.

That is correct, however...imagine the Reaper forces being almost ALL Marauders and not Canibals...with their super marksman and Phaeston XXIV. THAT is the Collector main force, CAR XXIVs with dead accurate shots, and then make them "possesed"
Thats the main issue, the cluster nade spam IS an issue though.

Honestly, I think the collectors need a slight buff. The praetorians are far too weak and don't nearly use their LAZORZ enough!!1

Or maybe I was just using a harrier x with AP IV <_<

I am ok with the bosses its everything else that I am not. My friends and I do gold runs against any other faction in 20-30 minutes. My friends and I struggle to get to wave 10 on bronze against the collectors. There is no reason for this. I can solo bronze against the other factions but the collectors i can't seem to do it with a group of 4 players who all play very well. This group is way too powerful.

Rarely my N7 Armored behind, in a gold match vs collectors we got to wave eight, EIGHT.
Guess what we faced, multiple smaller opponents, four possessed scions and afte we cleared that, FOUR PRAETORIANS.

Something is rotten in Denmark.

Then give us the numbers.  Exactly WHAT level of Armor do Scions have?  What impact does possession have on a unit?

So far people are just saying they seem more powerful without actually giving any mathematical values.

I'm not the kind of hardcore player who goes into all the data files and look for updated numbers right after each patch/balance. But It is obvious when an enemy unit is possessed the health is almost doubled and comes with a barrier as well. I won't mind possessed foot soldiers, but possessed Scions and Praetorians? That's just ridiculous. Remember not all of us have a Harrier X.

Question: does possession also boost damage output?

I find that the possessed Collectors are appropriately powerful (except the Praetorian... super fast and super dangerous times 2? No thanks), but I do agree the unpossessed ones should be made squishier.
