Player Shield/Healthgate removal is the worst thing to happen since the Vangaurd Glitch.

And still do. Their fix for ops packs has been as successful as their various fixes for the vanguard glitch.
I wasted 10 to 15 ops packs that didn't do anything as I instantly died right after using them last night. They're just as useless as they were last week.

what's with people talking about rapid firing weapon now killing you faster, marauders and such never gave a **** about gating system and have always been priority targets

i'm not ignoring the fact that people struggle, i'm merely stating this is not the reason for their struggle




So, what you're basically telling experienced Plat and Gold players is that they're wrong because you don't experience it and/or don't realize it. And you're also insulting everybody by saying that we "need an excuse".

I find your entire post pretty damn offending if I might say so.

This reminds me so much as to when they changed the game matching to match you based on N7 level. Bioware was very slow to admit they changed anything and only provided terse statements after much complaining by the player base. It is definitely possible to get use to the new game mechanic, we're back to u/u/p. This is ME3 multiplayer 2.0, no camping, no farming, and best to stay together since your likely to be quickly downed when exposed to fire.

Yeah - I'm definitely not seeing the supposed patch change to ops pack use, and I'm certainly using them more frequently now - to very little or no effect.

To add - Not only am I going down much more often, with health and shield gates seemingly dropping quicker than ever, but on many occasions I have found myself downed with no offender listed in the kill feed. Sometimes it says what got me, but other times it's a mystery.

It seems like the big bosses aren't the ones putting out the damage either, even with the fixes to primes, banshees, etc. It was easy enough to adapt to their changes, adjust tactics, and commence to successfully take them out. Now it seems like it's the little guys you really have to watch out for. One cannibal that you didn't see will take you down in a fraction of the time it takes for a boss to down you.

Second:  I agree something feels different, I notice it more with my beloved Shadow than any of the other classes, but there is something...off.

That said, absolute domination of the enemy is is still possible, even with pugs.  I had a pug last night (2 Krogaurd, 2 Gethfiltrators) absolutely steamroll Glacier/Cerberus/Gold in 16:36 last night, probably the most statisfying game I've played in a while.

Ha, it sure feels that way. Something is definitely changed - never died this much before the patch+dlc.
I really don't like it, but I guess it's just something to get used to - unless it's reversed back to how ever it was before.
No BW post about this anywhere yet? It took quite some time for the N7-rank based matchmaking to be confirmed.

I agree. Something is definitely different, I think the lack of a delay on damage taken after hitting the gate is probably it, but still, in the last two days I have not died any more than I usually did. I have not had any more trouble than I usually do. I haven't used any more consumables (in fact, I've barely used any), and I've succeeded (at least partial extraction) on all matches (more than a dozen; mostly silver, one or two gold). I can recall maybe one or two times when I died that I think it could be attributed to this change.

And I'm not a good player. I'm mediocre at best. I guess it's a difference in play style, I never play the tank classes and I hate CQC except for the Shadow (which I'm still equally effective with except having to learn not to use shadow strike on possessed abominations Image IPB ).

Again this is a phenomenon noticed by most people I play with and with several people who log a lot of play time on BSN. Some are very good to exceptional players.

I've logged well over a thousand games on Gold with mostly full extractions, I think I'm cool on the patterns of new enemies. Thanks.

If this takes another patch, that may not happen for several months, I might finally be done with this MP game. I don't care about buffing or nerfing of guns skills or everything else, but a radical shift in gameplay that may not be fixed is pretty bad.

I noticed it before the DLC as well, but it never happened anywhere near as frequently as it seems to now. Maybe it's because I'm going down more often, making the odds a little higher, but it doesn't make it right and it just feels... off.

i'm an experienced plat and Gold player, i do experience the 'dying more easily' thingy against  mostly cerberus
geth got easier, nothing changed with reapers, and i have yet to figure out collectors entirely
and yes it was meant to be an aggressive post, after what the other guy told me

shield and health gate are working properly !
it never saved you from marauders, centurions .... which is what a lot of people complain about
and it still saves you from OS which is what it always did

i do not believe that this kind of issue would only apply to some and not to others
it's everyone or no-one
it still works, for me and every of the PUG mates i've had so far ( when a volus survives 2 geth prime shots without having used Shield boost, it means his gates worked)

so if 'dying more easily' isn't coming from shield and health gate, then where is it coming from

see, you noticed something different, something, something, something, it doesn't mean it's the gates
at first , guys asked if gate got changed because something felt different, and without any word from BW nor any test from our usual testers, it's been like if it were a fact that shield and health gates were gone

i've noticed differences too, but then agains couldn't that simply be .. i don't know, a lot of things, including new units and new faction, along with the huge patch from a week ago

Last match nemesis killed me about 10 times, this is getting seriously annoying, as I was rocking a destroyer with shield booster V :/

That small immunity after shield gate I never was aware about is really gone. It doesn't bother me tho.

Pretty much this, which would explain being downed more often by troopers than other units.  That small time of immunity could let you get to cover from sustained rifle fire.  Now shields + 2-3 bars of health will go.

Until then I will put it in as simple a way as possible so no one mis understands.

1. A player with 1600+ shield a week ago could survive almost anything, even a Nemesis shot only took 50% of your shields, now they take them all and if you were even slightly low shield you also have their damage bleed into your health.

2. Just because you dont notice it does not mean it isnt changed. Try looking at coins or money in your wallet, bet you wont reconize most of the fine detailed changes. But they do change all the time.

3. If you think the shieldgate and healthgates work fine right now your very wrong. You are just a troll and are the reason the game is broken right now. The so called "Balance" complainers wanted a harder game, even though it was never easy to begin with. We got trolled by all the complainers, which is what they wanted.

Yeah the invulnerability came from gaining a bonus shieldgate, with them removed we get nothing.

Makes ops packs useless, heck I have noticed that putting LESS points in fitness helps me now, at least all my other powers are full that way. Cause as is I notice no difference between a character with 1600 shields and one with only 500 shields.
