Player Shield/Healthgate removal is the worst thing to happen since the Vangaurd Glitch.

I don't play Silver, so I cannot say. Though, reading some of the posts, this *new difficulty* seems to have affected all levels. What I can say is--  I play daily and, according to my friends, play skillfully. However, since the installation of Ret., the game (in both my and my friends experiences) has become far more difficult on Gold.
Pre-Ret.: Usually my squad and I get full extractions.
Post Ret.: Last 5 games-- one extraction (even that was partial).

Healthgate still exist even post DLC. Had that constantly against the Geth on my Krogan Vanguard.
I never pay attention to shield gate so I do not know for sure, but if healthgate remains, I am fairly sure shieldgate does as well.

Also, it's definitely since patch, had it noticed with my friends playing, while the 2 games I played after DLC were all pug. I, for one, welcome the change as improving the difficulty of the game.

Obviously, ME3 isn't even a year old, so the analogy is kind of silly, but wouldn't you think it was just ridiculously stupid if pawns could suddenly move as far forward in one turn as desired (in Chess)? Changing a basic game mechanic isn't good for ANY game.

Has there been any confirmation on this? I thought something was off. I played over a dozen Gold games Monday without a single failure and we were struggling with Silver today.

Proof, proof everywhere. Seriously people, show me dem proof! I played platinum after patches and I seemed to be saved many times by all the gates.

How exactly would one prove such a thing?

Many people in the thread have also responded saying that the OP is mistaken, that Shieldgate exists, but that something's wrong with it. A few, myself included, have concluded that the momentary delay between shields falling and taking damage again was eliminated, which is why burst-fire weapons and enemies can take you from full shields to dead much faster.

I reckon the Nemeses were complaining about us on the Cerberus Social Network.

"It has been EIGHT MONTHS, and shield-gate is STILL absolutely broken. Snipers are useless in this game! If you don't have an insta-kill, you're just fodder. Especially with all the enemy buffs, lately - Phoenix Adept is so OP! How come the N7s get to play as him and we don't?!"

And then, on some lonely space station, drifting silently past a dying star in some dark, uncharted corner of the Horsehead Nebula, a battle-scarred technician curled his lips into a grin. Typed a single sentence, to be broadcast across all secure channels:

"- Enemy shield/barrier damage gates on weapon damage reduced from 100% to 75."

Between Dragoon gangrape, Praetorians synckilling from evvery angle imaginable, getting synckilled straight out of Charge, removing healthgate and shieldgate, seemingly removing invincibility frames from Nova, even more stunlock for the Geth, and plans to take 12 frakking weeks to release every character, it kinda seems like Bioware hates our guts.

This is not a "I want all my character naow!!!1!!11!!!!!!1one!" thing, but rather a "the manifest glitched and let slip that the characters are already in the game, so why aren't they releasing them now or at least in weekly group of 4 or so?"

Wow I thought it was from my time away, I had only been gone a few weeks but it felt like I was going down alot on silver when Id been doing gold for months before. Like the new enemies and the new map styles, just going to take getting used too.

There's something going on, whether it's the shield gate or something else. I was dropping at seemingly random points in matches, even from having a quarter shields left to sudden death. (In a few cases I have no idea what the cause was; at one point the killfeed blamed my death on a turret that hadn't been deployed yet.) I rarely use health packs unless things aren't going smoothly; today I used several in the matches I was in. I had some decent squadmates on a few Silver runs today, and they were dropping regularly, too.

Some weird spawns at points, too. There were five Guardians grouped within 5 m or less marching towards me at one point on a Silver mission, and I also saw strangely large packs of husks running around. Anyone else seen stuff like that?

All that said, I'm enjoying the DLC so far and don't want to be too negative about this. But I do hope BioWare can track down what's going on. Difficult's okay, but unpredictable death is a very different thing.

One gets the feeling that most of the new changes (especially the equipment that allows you to carry more consumables) were designed to increase consumable usage and consequently, store revenue.

Also, I think the Collectors' ship looks like a giant piece of poop.

For me it livens up the dying horse. Spent 2 weeks in Borderlands 2, brought back only by patch-DLC combo.

Yeah, instead of having the last bar blinking a warning that you're about to die, your character just flops over like a ragdoll and...dies...

Kinda retarded to fix this glitch this way.

I very much agree with this.
Something has seemed off since the patch if you ask me-- it seems the health gate is gone, though people say it isn't. I find shields to be working fine, but I seem to just... drop... a lot of the time. It could be the new "animation" of the camera that's causing me to feel like my death happened way too quickly compared to what I'm used to though.

Dunno. Something seem off.

He uses his stimulant pack, and shields are at full. Scion shoots ONE bullet at him, and he is down. WHILE his shields were up! A couple seconds later, when he is revived, you SEE his shields still dropping!

Something is DEFINITELY wrong with shield gate. I don't know if he was hosting or not, but that shouldn't have happened if the gates were still working.

I was hyped beyond belief to play the new DLC. I'm a competent gold player with many different classes. Between the collectors, gate issues, new troll enemies and the attempt to punish farmers, this seems like a giant **** you to the MP community. I made the mistake of trying to roll to the left at the top of the steps on glacier to avoid the 3 incoming dragoons only to find out that the small room at the top was blocked off. Jesus Christ.
