<remember that they need to do DA so they can run it on consoles also,(GC,HD space....) I guess that is the reason we sometime find it lacking.with sidequests openess & depth but the storymaking is the best yet i think...

I'm sorry you are disappointed with the game. I do agree it felt more like ME than BG. One of the parts of BG I did like was the wandering between points of interest. I always felt so exposed to ambush in the wilderness between spots of civilization in BG.
I don't get that with DA:O. But I still get some fun story, some very well written and voice acted characters, fun barbie-dress-up armor sets, some unpredictable combat (at least on nightmare), and a bunch of other things that make this recognizably bioware.
But I do miss stumbling around in the huge open wide outdoors that BG allotted. I also think it is fair for the OP to criticize the spiritual successor BG/BG2/NWN whoha. EA/bioware is the one that expressed that in their marketing. This game is close, though. I'm willing to wait and see with the expansion.
