A medium-sized indoor level takes me about 20 minutes. I'm bored. Somebody entertain me please.
What do you do while you are waiting for your lightmaps to render?

What do I do? I daydream about how life would be with the super computers Bioware level designers must use when rendering lightmaps. That, and I come to these forums!

My large outdoor level takes 4 hours to render lightmaps (with just sunlight, an ambient for shadows, and a light probe). I turn it on right before I go to bed.

If I knew more Python I might be inclined to write a script to do all my levels overnight.

Load up the X-Box and go blow something/somebody up. With just 2 rooms my cave level is already taking over 30 minutes to render lightmaps and I'm planning about 8...so pretty soon it'll be an overnight/during work thing.
