Considering those are the requirements in 2 years time, they aren't exactly horrible. I currently meet the minimum as it is and have been thinking my next gpu upgrade would be to a 600 series in a year or two when their prices go down anyway heh.

Another update from Chris Roberts Facebook page:

From FB, pledge people pledge!

Hi Chris Roberts Here!

We’re at $941,488.

I would like to get to $1M by 10am PST. So if we can raise $58,112 in the next 11 hours Roberts Space Industries will add 500 in game credits to everyone’s ship packages that have contributed to get us to $1M as a little present to the early backers!

It could be the difference between the basic targeting system and the upgraded one that can track multiple targets simultaneously!

So let’s get out there and show the world the Space Sim is coming back at http://www.robertsspaceindustries.com

Man, these Kickstart projects are killing me. They all keeping popping up at once and a lot look soooooo good...

The only problem is waiting on these games...

In about two years, PC gamers will be in gaming bliss from Kickstarter projects...

Chris Roberts is on Reddit answering questions!

My personal favorite.

"Will there be "boarding parties"? I loved that element in Battlefront IIAlso, can you tell us more about the use of spacestations? The 10K donator package spoke about "private clubs". Can you elaborate on what clubs will be?Finally, will there be vacant spaceships or stations that you can salvage from? Imagine if squatter communities eventually formed inside a stripped, dormant spacestation :O" Redditor

"Yes - you will be able to board, both in the single player Squadron 42 and also in the MP SC.

A private club is your own piece of real estate inside the SC Universe that you can set how enters - think of it like your own exclusive club that you can invite your friends to in order to hang out, plot or chat. If you're not on the list you don't get past the door!

There will definitely be some abandoned places -" - Chris Roberts

And another long term goal.

"It is possible to have a seamless transition between space to a planet (landing on it)?"

"Not in the initial release if you mean actually flying down through the atmosphere and exploring it in the same level of detail the ships are built. The design is already ambitious as it is. It's something long term that I would love to be able to do, but its a matter of content - We can build a whole universe as we're not having to detail each world out to the fidelity of the ships. To do this you would need a whole other level of computer and content."  Chris Roberts.

Boarding Parties? Yarr! Just keeps looking better and better. I think of all the kickstarter-eque projects this one feels like the most ambitious and most likely to make me sad if it can't deliver.

RPS is doing a multi-part interview too I'm kinda worried it's too ambitious.

You & me both - this game cant get here soon enough!
That said, I'd still rather wait longer to get a top notch game than have half the wait with an underpar effort.
At least we'll get our hands on the alpha next year...

Look like the next 'Crysis' . Pushing graphic to the gillz. Which is a great thing. We need more of those people who want to use every asset available to them. Graphic not only improve fidelity but, also improve gameplay in more way than one might think. Less loading for instance and better world interaction or higher fidelity physic. Who know what they will be able  to pull with this.

I still think console can pull some amazing thing with  the right developper who know how to beat the system. Halo IV is a great exemple. Great looking game until you start looking deepskin (Not trolling .. HALO 4 look great for a console game. People with good eyes will know what I meant)

Can't wait for this projects. Crysis 2 was an uppercut to the face. I guess this game is the next Crysis. Yet it's a simulation game. Which is a PC thing.
