If bioware only manages to steal how assassin's creed brotherhood & revalations handled running your own assassin guild i'd say it'd still be a huge succuss for bioware given how little other gameplay options they give players beyond "go here, talk to people, kill those people, here's some exp & a shiney new item"

Bioware DESPRETLY needs to offer up new gameply options beyond the basics and no bashing polygons with other characters doesn't count unless it's some kinda sex mini game

From what i know, the real Inquisition in history is the Church conduct investigations toward the accused heretics, sending Inquisitors to investigate them, if they are heretics then the Inquisitors will use any means to force them to repent even using torture, or else they accused heretics will be condemned to death.

I don't know what Inquisition means for DA3. Who want to conduct Inquisition on who? Surely the Chantry who want to conduct Inquisition on the Templar right? Like in the real history of Inquisition of Templars in France...

But if the Inquisitor is a Mage, then it is a nonsense at all.

The survey leak says the Inquisition is about investigating the mysterious mastermind who orchestrated the start of the mage-templar war(and destroyed the peace conference).

Why the hell is this even necessary? Why can't the war have started on its own? It seems eminently reasonable for it to have done so.

My thought from what I’ve heard and thinking back to DA:O and DA2 is that while, yes this was inevitable, it was a ways off. Someone is just impatient is my thought. They may want it done now before something else, like another blithe, happens so it’s out of the way. Or just so they can gain something from it, like power and control. Maybe someone fears that if the war happens later then the Qun will be stronger and will take advantage of it but right now the Qunari don’t have as strong a foothold and so the war happening now will allow what remains to be stronger.

There are a ton of reason that person might push something like this to happen sooner, maybe they are afraid they’ll be dead in a few dozen years it might take for the war to happen on its own and they want it to happen while they are alive so they can use all the mages death and deaths in general to summon a demon or seize Tevinter while its mages are being attacked by templar or whatever.

Edit: Also, from a story perspective it’s better to not have it have happened on its own. If it was natural then you could solve it that way, naturally, just get the two side to come to an agreement, nothing would be fighting it being resolved. But if it was instigated then you have something or someone actively opposing you which means you have to overcome that before you can work to resolve the issues of the two sides. This seems to be the most likely thing with an attack on a meeting that might have leaders from both sides being the spark of the game opening.

This is all speculation of course.

All of those seem like good reasons. I hope we wouldn't be forced into opposition with them if that's the case... unless they just want power/control and would interfere with the outcome for that reason.
