very nice!Bill Casey wrote...
Once knew a Volus named Uh Cold.
He was by 'emself, Cerberus had 'em dead to rights on Vancouver.
It was a guddamn miracle he survived.
Used hit an' run tactics.
When all of your enemies tower over you, you learn to fight smart real quick.
Little bastard could use biotics better than most Asari.
Had 'em tied up in stasis fields while he picked 'em off one by one.
Killed a ton of 'em, an' then Cerberus tucked tail an' ran.
Never underestimated a Volus since.
a few gifs to fit this fine tale:

And so you made this post to proudly announce to the world that you wasted more than an hour of your time... because Bioware made an achievement? I am thoroughly impressedWhy did I do it? I saw the lone wolf challenge and figured I would get it the most ridiculous way possible...never again.

You're either a complete dick, or I'm just not understanding your sarcasm.

I'm impressed. More impressive than squirreling away an hour on 3 gold matches doing nothing notable.

Claymore / Acolyte would be an alright setup, you would probally use it more like a sniper than a shotgun though.Deucetipher wrote...
Nice! I tried a biotic orb/claymore/shieldboost spam plat solo with less than ideal results. Wave 7 kerspalt. Claymore is a bit too risky

How does anyone even solo platinum at all?

Just learn spawn control and be aware of wave budget.Sgt Reed 24 wrote...

Knowing how to aim and shoot is also a plus.
Situational response is important as well, it's like the equivalent of twitch reaction in a FPS.

What do you mean by number 1? Spawn Control. ... You mean like how if you are on this side of the map, they spawn on the other side? Wave Budget?
2. I know how to do this as I play a lot of MP games (Gears of War, Halo, etc)
3. Again, that's not a problem.
The problem is there are just so many enemies and they do so much damage.

Spawn control in gears and halo is simple and relies on keeping players trapped but in me3 it's more about being in a good spot as the wave starts.Sgt Reed 24 wrote...

Soloing platinum you need to have a route in mind you can run when **** starts getting out of hand and when waves start what I do is I find the "reset point" of the route to pull the mobs and kite them as I run the route.
Heres an example:
Soloing FBW I run counter clockwise as I kite enemies and my reset point is behind the ship on LZ.
I can pull every enemy on the map to that reset point and then run my route without being hit from behind until I kill an enemy. Whatever enemy you kill will either spawn behind you or close by as you run the route so you need to be aware of that.
In terms of spawn control on nuke waves 5,8,9 are waves you want to rocket spawns and standing within reasonable running distance of a known spawn is crucial for getting successful killstreaks.
Wave budget is a fairly simple concept and is accurately broken down with a spreadsheet here.

Well played sir, i haven't seen a Volus used well in anything above Silver.
Engineer Volus can carry teams through gold, as long as they work well together and take full advantage of his epic debuffs.
