I don't think they are too of a problem if you have one of two to fight off. However, they can overwhelm very well...I think reducing the number of Dragoons might help.

armored units should not move silently... This reminds me of my old archenemy the Geth Pyro

Dragoons are agile and super fast, they also dodge.

They have ARMOUR too.

Somebody sees controversy? Either give them health&barrier as phantom has or make them slow and not agile. Dragoons also look exactly like Phoenix classes which often gets me killed.

That  would render adding them pointless, and the whole point of adding them is giving Cerberus a unit that can't be annihilated by using just 1 power :wizard:

I don't find them problematic, then again I usually play with Krogan and Batarians so, you know, MMRRAAAAHAHA!

Also, the Krogan Soldier with nades and carnage wipes the floor with them even if they come in packs.

I find I can stagger them quite easily with the Falcon.

Sure if they get close you are in a bit of trouble.

Falcon, maybe, but hitscan weapons do nothing.

The Revenant does. Theoretically, the Disciple should too, but it's not like anyone uses that gun anymore.

High-force powers like Charge seem to interrupt them reliably as well.

Sofar the only thing I dislike is that the looks made them hard to distinguish from teammates.

I dislike how they make no sound at all, and how fast they run. I got downed by one and then saw him sprint off like he had Adrenaline Mod III. The Smash makes no sound which is bizarre since it really should. And also, he fires his Hornet like its a light machine gun. What is the point of having him use a Hornet if it never seems like an actual Hornet?

Only things I dislike about them is their absurdly quick movement speed, and the fact that they apparently have no cooldown on smash.

They're relatively easy to deal with, but in certain situations the no cooldown Smash spam can be very annoying.

I would do the following:

Decrease Dragoon speed by 1/3
Increase armor by 1/3
Add different attack sounds
Add different shouting sounds
Remove the Hornet and replace it with Eviscerator (no long range SMG spam)
They no longer ignore cloak completely
They take cover sometimes when get shot at a lot

Reduce the number per wave, perhaps, but leave the actual mob's skills as they are. They're only cheap en mass, otherwise, any good Biotic on your team will kill them in seconds.

imo, Dragoons are there to ensure your entire team isn't standing in one spot for the whole match, with their collective heads in a scope. Kit balanced teams and moving as a group ftw.

adds challenge to Cerberus but Dragoons needs buff, like them to do lash and smash

From what I'm seeing in the thread, the most common point of agreement is
  • Give them sound effects for movement, chatter, and attacks so that we know they exist (the Phoenix class shouts aren't cutting it); this is especially important because Cerbies and Reaper boss units have almost the same presence as L4D special infected. Their chatter let's you know they're around and lets you prepare accordingly--even if that means bending over to kiss your ass goodbye. So some sort of chatter and attack sfx at the very least seem to be absolutely essential.
  • Give them a more complicated attack structure than blitzing. Perhaps make them flankers. That'll certainly stir terror in the hearts of campers everywhere. Perhaps with this give their a chatter a radius to players with those with power enhanced senses (geth hunter mode, MQ tactical scan) getting a wider radius to hear their chatter.
  • Give them a more varied attack structure than just spamming Smash and the occasional pistol shot. Maybe let them Lash campers from afar.
How do folks feel about this? Do these points sum up the general feeling of dissatisfaction with this unit?

They are so badly designed! So out of place.

Did they get added in Alpha stage of development?

1 They move too fast
2. Never take cover (EVER)
3. Make cloak useless
4. Make snipers against Cerberus super hard to use
5. Hard to stagger
6. Make no sound when running
7. Make practically no sound when attacking

The same people who designed those Pheonix characters

This thread should stay at the first page... There should be a change in the way the dragoons behave, they track the player way too easily. It is too obvious that you are playing against an AI

I first saw the Dragoon on platinum. Killed several of them with my N7 Fury, no big deal. They're most dangerous when they act together with Phantoms.
Volus are also good against them, they're a bit harder to hit with smash.

completely stagger resistant while meleeing or smashing, Hornet XLVIII, un-grababble. I hate cerberus right now.

I think they're pretty amazing. Tough as nails melee enemies like we haven't met before. Yes, they turn the fight into a big mess, but that's the whole point of them.

Dragoons do need a tone down in some of their actions cause they make hacks/escorts almost improbable on higher difficulties and a super chore hopefully it'll be fixed on teusday

only problem i have with them is their movement speed, the fact that they seem to ignore my tactical cloak and that the damage on their hornet feels alot more powerful than the hornet is.

They are not amazing or anything, as 100Renegade has said - you know that you're fighting an A.I. a robot, a dumb zombie who's only purpose is to melee you at whatever cost as fast as possible ignoring your cloak, ignoring your damage to them.

Dragoons being able to completely ignore tactical cloak is silly and should be changed.

OP is correct.

We all want new units and challenges. Dragoon is a bit over the top at this point. It offers less reward for skill and just 'cheats' its way through as opposed to making a player use new tactics.

See? This is what farming and missile glitching gets you! An open door for cheese right back in your face! ;D

The only problem with them is their sheer numbers. Fighting one or two Dragoons is easy, but when they're both spamming Smash and you're dodging away from them and into a group of Phantoms, Atlases and whatnot, you're pretty much ****ed.
