yeah, this. Sten would've stayed though, despite having awareness of his situations. Which makes me sad for the big guy.

Sten wouldn't stay. If he didn't get his sword back he would have taken on the entire spawn of the Deep Roads by himself and died. If Alistair is leading then Sten can't be around (without a major change in lore). He won't be led by someone he doesn't respect and even though he respects the Warden he still tries to overthrow the leadership when he feels the Warden is wasting time.

Alistair alone is a big waste of time, so unless Sten's personality is changed in this alternate universe, he wouldn't stick around. Alistair can't find his lost sox so finding Sten's sword wouldn't happen. Poor old Sten would die, alone and without honor in Ferelden and it would all be Alistairs fault.

Thinking about how this DLC is lore-breaking... can anyone even imagine Flemeth saving only Alistair? Flemeth isn't stupid.

I now know who replaces the PC. It's Walter of course!

The tower-guard's most triumphant comeback.

Not a particularly original shot, I know.  But this is the first time I've tried to make any quality screenshots so I'm pleased with myself for getting a decent angle and appropriate timing there.

Oh, why not? All he has to do is live long enough to impregnate her daughter and then Cammen can kill the Archdemon for all anyone cares. And has, in one universe... Image IPB

I believe the "Sten staying" comment was about his Dream in the Fade, during the Circle quest.

Alistair and Morrigan never get past Lothering - they are stuck on the steps arguing about what to do. The only reason Morrigan hasn't turned him into a toad is because she wants his sperm. Eventually, she knocks him unconscious, has her wicked way with him, then Flemeth flies over, plucks Alistair from Morrigan's arms and deposits him on the roof of Fort Drakon. He kills the archdemon & dies in the process. Morrigan flies away with her mother, never knowing what Flemeth intended to do with her. Ferelden is laid waste so Orlais decides its not worth having. And the Dwarves take control of all of Ferelden because they are the only ones left alive.

The End.

By 'dies in the process' you mean from wounds, right? Not died because he killed the Archdemon?

LOL, the best part is, that kitten has his coloration! XDD Maybe I should try to get a photo of him? Though he's probably asleep in some randomly-unreachable part of the garage-office now, not staggering around in a stupor.

Alistair is attacked by hoards of darkspawn and has nobody covering his back while he battles the archdemon. With his dying breath he summons the last of his strength and strikes the blow that kills the archdemon. When Sandal explores Fore Drakon, looking for loot, he finds Alistairs corpse lying across the corpse of the archdemon.

I like this story...

i now realise the DLC is $5 (£3.30) which means it most likely going to suck, remember what other DLC was $5?  RtO which gave us couger Wynne.

Tell you what Bioware let me play an Ogre and I will think about it, if it gets good reviews.

@Aro - I love the story about your cat...it shouldn't be funny but it is.

.... I just watched the trailer for it at GameSpot. Meh. I likely won't get this one. I bet the "Epic Darkspawn item" you get is comparatively shyte when compared to Awakening items. Which I still need to get, but won't until AFTER the fix is released.

The trailer is well done, but the premise of the DLC makes me go WTF. I know it's AU-style, but still.....

Since folks have asked after him: My elderly, b*tchy cat with the infected face (Dream) went to the vet today, since the antibiotics didn't wipe out the problem. They had to gas him into a stoned stupor to go near his face (I think L believes me now about three hands + a blanket being needed just to pin the cat down, lol, and Dream actually trusts us) and they lanced an abscess between his eye and nose. I'll be cornering him multiple times a day to wash his face off with pau d'arco to keep it from getting infected, and putting a numbing agent on his eye once a day.

The poor cat is currently stoned out of his gourd. I opened the carrier so he could climb out whenever he wanted, and he sort of stumbled out crookedly and proceeded to tilt his way around the room. XD

Old man is stoned.

[/randomupdate]

Hope he gets better now.  Did they check to make sure he doesn't have an infected tooth (common reason for an abscess in that location)?

It could be ok, but I'd have prefered DLC that allowed use to continue our characters or Romance DLC for Awakening.
One of my problems with this DLC is I think I can see how it's going to go, each area will have a different companion that you have to kill until you reach the top of Fort Drakon where you have to kill the last four. I doubt there will be much, if any customisation character wise I reckon you will most likely choose your skill and thats it.

As fun as killing Alister and Wynne would be,  I'll wait for the reviews and decide then.

Oh, Dream has a history of that, it in fact had him almost dead of starvation when I first came out and said "Oh look, the cat's a skeleton because he can't chew and his mouth is way too hot to the touch. Mouth infection. Vet time!" (current roommates couldn't do much, it's the one we kicked out who refused to give a sh*t), and this vet's treated him for it before. I wasn't there this time, but I suspect it was the first thing they looked for.

They shot him full of some pretty potent stuff on top of lancing the abscess, so now I'll just keep it open and clean until it heals up correctly. I've handled worse, animal and human alike. If it looks like it's coming back anyway, he goes straight back to the vet again.

It's not the first, second, third, or forth time I've had to pin an animal -- or person! -- down to do wound maintenance, lol. Thankfully he's a pretty forgiving cat, despite his legendary crankyness. If I glomp him afterwards and then set him down in front of a fresh can of food (the only way we can keep any weight on him now), he generally decides that I'm awesome again. Go bribery!

Edit: Re DLC -- yeah, I'm not opposed to the idea of the DLC, especially if it's really cheap, but I'm not going to be rushing to buy it immediately either. I really wish they'd do something with their characters they had us spend 40-60+ hours per playthrough with. They went through all the trouble of getting us invested in them, and now they... don't seem to exist in any meaningful way? Aggravating.

I'm sure I'll end up grabbing it eventually, though. Especially if you can "take over" an Ogre. Those guys are awesome.

The darkfic writer in me approves of that trailer. The rest of me is going :crying: I hope Zev isn't there!

Hahaha, I'm going soft. Stupid romances. <_<

Though I still bet I could entertain myself dodging the majority of the party while bulldozing the rest of the map down.

Have you ever put off knocking Zev out during his ambush until last? It's kind of hilarious to have him chasing you around trying to stab you in the face while you maul his allies. All the same battle-quotes from him, but with face stabbing.

I guess I'm kind of torn on my general feelings on this DLC. If it's the last we get of the Origins companions, it sucks. If it's just something quick they threw together for a few bucks, preferrably while working on character-driven stuff that was the game's original appeal... okay. Mindless rampage can be fun!

Meh. :P
