Some time ago I asked my BF about this (as he really can explain anything, lol) and he said without an extra thought "of course, that's because you want to join them" ... so maybe ... I just think not necessarily

Me too!   (Apart from some dabbling in my youth and the occasional, rare crush).  M/m pics are hot, because - I fancy men and it's two men.   I think that it's really that simple for me.  

ETA: I don't think it even goes as far as wanting to join them.  I think that for me it's pretty much the equivalent of straight guys liking f/f pics.   I just like the look of attractive men, and attractive men kissing each other, etc, is even better.

I'm not sure. Some people start posting around Midnight in their timezone, like say, CZ has done.

I think Friday should start as soon as it turns Friday somewhere, and end only once it's over everywhere.
