I don't hate Miranda, I just don't think she's as pretty as the game expects us to believe.

*is another Miranda hater who thinks she's ugly*

Then again I love Morrigan but think she looks terrible as well, so it's not just a case of lumping the two together.

Preview of my to be fanart, maybe this time with color and background as it is turning out rather well. Pose stolen. Dorky bookworms are dorky :P and Zevran with glasses that was someone's idea here too.

Well, folks, that virus I fought with? One of FF.net's forced ads reloaded the exact same thing onto my computer. I think I'm done with them. Recommendations on where to put a fic?

You can avoid the ads altogether if you make sure to do the 1-day ad-blocker immediately upon hitting the web-site each day you go on it. I really miss the 3-day ad-blocker but it's only a little annoying.

I know this is from like three pages ago ... but I just got here today and you all have been busy (not that I'm complaining, just aplogizing for posting so far from the original post).

Do you use Firefox by any chance?  It has a nice variety of add-blocker addons.  Personally, I use Adblock Plus, Flashblock and I have Noscript installed (but not always on, it intereres with some innocent stuff sometimes).  I had to use someone else's computer the other day ... I'd sort of forgotten what a banner add looked like.

Yes, I was going to say I don't see any ads on FF.net or LJ. I actually have all three of those add-ons.

It's not pop-up ads the ad-blocker stops from showing up. The page you are looking at is replaced by an ad and clicking the go back button takes you to the page before the one you were looking at so you have to click 'skip this ad' after it shows up.

Ooh, very pretty. Are we the only race with our own fistbump? I've yet to see a human or an elf one and if they started one now everyone would know they just stole it from us.

Aah, I'm not 100% sure about those.  Let me do some digging...

It's not pop ups the addons block either, the pop up blocker is built into FF.  The stuff I added blocks banner adds and replaces flash with a "play this flash" button.  I'm on a pretty crummy connection, not having to wait for flashes to load saves me a lot of time and headache.

After some digging, it seems Adblock usually takes care of the adds on those pages, but you still have to manually skip the page.  I'm not sure I'd risk trying it out on a known virus-add though.  Turning off javascript would apparently block them (and would work in any browser).

Hm, in my digging I'm finding references to YesScript instead of NoScript, I think I may play around with that.  It seems to let you pick sites to block scripts on, instead of blocking everything and making you hand-pick exceptions.

Heh, sorry, I'm being serious all over you all's Friday, aren't I?  I'll stop now.

@Tell: Way late, I know, but the NoScript add-on for Firefox will stop the hijacked ads from loading. You still have to close the window, but the script never runs. It won't stop some poor soul hopping over to read your work from getting infected, but you'll be safe.
