There's no way you had trippier cartoons then the sixties and seventies. Everyone was on drugs those decades! My little brother went through a phase where he'd watch the old reruns on Boomerang nonstop...everyone involved with those shows were on drugs. The writers, the producers, the characters...

*presents trippiest cartoon ever*

Ladies and gentlemen, DR. Snuggles! They had a spotted camel drinking tea on pink clouds.

I was a late 80s girl so I got to watch cool stuff like Jem and the Holograms, He Man, She Ra, Captain Planet, Thundercats...X-Men also had the coolest themesong ever and fuelled the beginning fires of my geekdom and finding gents and ladies in kickass outfits saving the world fun.

...I won't list the weird English crap no one will get, but LOL BROOM CUPBOARD AND GORDON THE GOPHER

The above is why I am in fashion, no word of a lie. I can still sing the themesong word perfect. GLAMOUR AND GLITTER! FASHION AND FAME!

I wasn't born in the 80's but the TV shows and movies from back then have convinced me that everyone had horrible hair that decade.

I feel so ****ing old for that.

I was made in the 80s baby! We had the best kid cartoons. And by best, I mean "woah dude, this is trippy."

True dat *hi-fives 80's kids*

*High Five*

About drinking, started going out drinking at around 16 (screw the UK drinking age, I feel sorry for you Americans, you can't drink until your 21 and you have cr*p beer. Although I do prefer Cider and Ale's).

I have a had bit to drink  tonight for the first in a few months (damn medication), although only three pints because someone made me promise to behave. <_<

I had a "god, I'm old" moment when Sarah asked me where "I Will Always Love You" was from. That song was the equivalent of Celine Dion's "My Heart Will Go On." You couldn't get away from it!

That looks like a camel and a giraffe spawned something...oh, and it apparently started in the 70s. Image IPB

Would it make it worse if I mentioned that I looked it up and when it came out in 1974 my parents weren't old enough to have kids? Image IPB

yeah but that's the Dolly Parton version. The crackney Whitney Houston version is famous in the 90s due to the movie she did with Kevin Costner.

They also dedicated an entire episode to finding "golden dust" to make one of the characters happy again.

...totally not a metaphor for drugs.

Well of course they'd say that.

Google says that was 92? Not much better on the 'was I supposed to be aware this song existed' front.

The Bodyguard (1992) At first I thought it was from Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves but that hit was Bryan Adams's (Everything I Do) I Do It for You.

It is the main reason that my main occupation was drawing imaginative monsters with crayons during my childhood.

Simpler times, better times.
