Geez, I love this, soignee.   Ace of Swords upright - sword of change, new beginning & victory, success out of adversity.  Perfect choice.   Probably right about the fan, unfortunately.

@Mischievous:  now I have "Tiny Bubbles" running through my head, lol.

@Aro:  Your userpics are a great read all in themselves - love em.

edit: hee- page top. nyahnyah, already had a pic in the post! Posted Image

soignee, a second thought about the fan - if she holds it so it's up behind her head, it would follow the line of the card to frame her within an 'X' of lighter colors- if you know what I mean. So you'd have Zevran's face, follow the line of his arm to the lower right, then the light card on the lower left to go up to a point behind her face.

On the other hand, the fading into shadow is a cool look too. : )

I painted the fan first here and then realised feh too much clutter before I worked on the deck. it seems to be too much of stuff being held, unless Zevran holds the card? IDK...

The top card in the deck was meant to be lovers, but it was too distracting detail so I loosened it a little.

Gorgeous! The cards really add a different focus, maybe the fan is too much. It gets better and better.

You must be my lost (not very much evil) twin or something, it's my favorite film too, alas I've never seen the stage show. Liza Minnelli so beautiful in the movie and fantastic actress, I can watch it over and over and never get bored.<3<3

I think the fan looks great, it fits. But it really is a distraction. And you are right it's a bit weird if she holds things in both hands...*shrug*

I think hive mind works in fandom for many things.

How she draws Zevran is not exactly my cup of tea, but it's ok ... and there are dwarfs! Indeed, it's all about hot dwarf ladies :D

Yah, good point.  Also, the position of her hand at her face is so graceful it would be a shame to detract from that.

And holy crap that's a beautiful pic, Mina.

I'll agree her Zev seems a little off. I prefer him a little less smooth looking, but WOO BROSCA/ZEVRAN :D

I died a little inside today when I read the new Gamespot preview of the Darkspawn Chronicles DLC.

In the Alienage, the city's elven slums, we led the charge to "crush the
spirit of the elves" by torching the tree at its centre. The tree
succumbed to an emissary's fireball, as did the elven rogue Zevran
shortly after. It's a shame most former party characters expire
unceremoniously, with nary a cutscene to mark their passing, especially
given that Bartel says BioWare intended to "tug the heartstrings" by
making you slaughter your former allies and love interests.

I don't think I need a cutscene for it to affect me. At least there wasn't a video to go along with that. I was (surpsingly - or not) hoping Zevran wasn't going to be included in the DLC. Maybe the Alienage can be avoided? I would be interested to read the codex entries regarding Alistair's choices (of course, I'm thinking, "They'll explain why he recruited Zevran" which is a pipe dream, I'm postitive. I bet he sides with Harrowmont, Caradin, The Templars and the Dalish).

Worst part about it, is that even though I don't want to support the 'Zevran dies' DLC, I'll probably buy it - a purchase motivated by curiousity, consumerism or maybe it's just that I wouldn't mind seeing Wynne explode in a setting where it would be acceptable to kill her (if only Velanna were there too...). But if the Alienage can be bypassed, it will be. I wonder if it'd be possible to get out of there without killing him or if he's a trigger to allow access to the next area.

My first guess would be that the companions are area bosses... (and therefore unavoidable) but who knows.  (Can you actually *not* kill the generals in Denerim in Origins? I never tried not doing so...)

I think whether or not we get any details on the PC-less story depends on how much focus was really put on "tugging heartstrings", vs. just giving an outlet for running amok as the darkspawn.   I'd love to know how the alliance got built, yes, and how the companions get along without the PC to make nice (or not) with everyone.

Eh, I wont be buying it..So I dont have to see my sweet sweet Zevie croak. *LeSigh* though I would love to slap around Morrigan...

Rant On...

Im putting my foot down with BIO until they give us a damn Romance DLC at the very least. How about the ability to Romance in Awakenings, how about the old group IN Awakenings..that would be nice. There seems to be a TON of people begging for it, moreso then asking to play Darkspawn..at least that I've noticed. I got my hopes up a little when I saw that they commissioned Corrine for some Leliana VO for a DLC, but I guess with the release of the Darkspawn Chronicals we found out why...so that made me a sad panda and Im pouting. *hrmpft* Posted Image

Rant Off....

That was in the interview too.

In fact, the Darkspawn Chronicles' alternative canon is all determined,
according to Bartel, by "the choices a tormented Alistair would have
made in your absence." Much of this alternative history, but for a
devastating final cutscene, is left for the game's codex entries to
relate.

Which is why I'm at least curious about it. What I wouldn't give for the developers to go crazy and have them mention Zevran convinced Alistair to 'hop borders'. Hillarity in the making.

And to my recollection (it's been ages since I actually did the final siege), Riordan tells you that you can skip the areas with the generals - it's up to you to decide if you want to kill them or not (they make the final battle tougher because they show up there? Who knows, I always went and killed them.) So it might be possible for you to skip the area, but if they want to "tug at the heartstrings" - probably not...

If you don't kill the Generals they show up during the Archdemon fight, I am not sure if its triggered at any health percent or anything but I know I ran through and didnt kill them, and noticed as I was running to the next platform one was killing all my mages.

A-ha.  (Things will be better once I get home and can read said interview... surprise, GameSpot's blocked! Posted Image)  Hmmm... actually, now I'm wondering how these codex entries would mesh with your own codex -- I think they'd better be pretty clearly marked as AU!

Re: Alistair hopping borders... LOL.  I was wondering what would compell Zevran to stay after Taliesen was killed, assuming that happens... maybe he stays for Alistair.   . . . . .  Posted Image

Well, if (most of) the companions don't get special cutscenes for their deaths, sounds like there's nothing stopping them from having an epic final battle all together against the darkspawn, I guess, like in the situation below.

Zevran in the Alienage is interesting, considering his thoughts on them...
*eta* I can see though if a city is undersiege, that's where he'd be though.

I'm sure Zev and Lels hook up in the AU. They wouldn't do anything too awesome in this DLC. And as long as it's the modded Leliana a lot of people use, I wouldn't be too pissed.

Still not buying this POS. Someone can give me a summary, or those codex entries will go up on DAwiki soon enough.

I didn't say it made sense.  There just seems to be a consensus that he wouldn't stay unless he had someone to stay for (because he doesn't in the actual game).  The (il)logical choice for this frass-storm?  The other rogue.
