I come bearing gifts for y'all...

I decided it would be cool to have Zev on my phone. So, for anyone wanting to use Zev for a ringtone, the file is here: http://www.mediafire...m/?gn3mzreqjnw

The mp3's are named by numbers.
#66 = You call?
#70 = Your wish?
#71 = What say you?
#72 = Here I am.
#73 = Oh, this should be good. What would you like to discuss?

Bioware has allowed this kind of thing before so I don't believe its infringing their copyright. Enjoy!

You, ser, are too awesome by far.

Edit: Wry?!?

I would rank them, from least favorite to most: Jack, Jacob, Miranda, Samara, Morinth, Tali, Garrus, Thane. Grunt, Legion and Mordin.

I do not include downloadable characters.

LOL Charsen, you almost made me spit my wine on the keyboard.  I think the sexy scottish engineer should rate above the space hamster though.

My son and I saw (500) Days of Summer. Both of us loved it, and both of us sympathised with Summer. It was amazing how many people seemed to hate her. And yes, I got the impression that the same thing was going to happen with Autumn.

It was a really good film about relationships, I thought. There are so many love stories, and not so many about couples where one is infatuated and the other isn't - yet it happens all the time. I thought it was very well done. Especially the way he didn't actually listen to her, or care that much about her feelings - just about his own feelings for her.

Nice Guys - I know the type.   It annoys me when Nice Guys say that women always go for bad boys because they wanted to be treated mean.   It just shows that they (tne Nice Guys) know nothing about women, and that what they believe about women is pretty derogatory.   I don't know if you've noticed that some of these Nice Guys tend to aim above their level on the attractiveness scale, then if they're turned down as they inevitably will be, it's the girl's fault for wanting a bad boy instead of an unattractive nice guy.   They can then be pretty dismissive of women who are at or below their level on the attractiveness scale.

I am not talking about adjusted, nice men. I'm talking about Nice Guy Syndrome.

I knew a Nice Girl once.  We were friends for a couple of months, and very early on I thought I felt like, tension.  I told her I wasn't looking for that, and she said that wasn't what she was hoping to hear, but she was cool with that.  But then she invited me to a party, and when she introduced me to her friends, they were all like, "Oh, so you're so-n-so!" in that really weird tone of voice.  Y'know the one.  There's implication.

I just told myself I was being paranoid.  But I kept showing up to her apartment and there would be things like a candlelit meatloaf dinner when we were just supposed to be watching a DvD.  I kept on telling her for weeks that I just wanted to be friends, is that cool? and she would be like, yeah, that's cool.

I asked her at the point when I thought thing were really bad, "Please, could we just be friends?  Go back a few steps?  I feel like you've emotionally gone in a different direction than me."  And she replied that she didn't think she could be just friends.  So I thought about it and said I was sorry, but I couldn't hang out with her anymore.

THEN things got crazy.  I wanted to leave the apartment, I was getting physically restrained and kissed in what I think she thought was a very dramatic way like in the movies but was actually sort of scary.  Which is a feat, because I'm not a small dude.  And there was this really, really un-PC thought I had at the time, but I was like, "Whoa!  I thought having male privilege meant not having to fear for my safety like this!"  Please don't kill me.

I stumbled out of her apartment, sans my flannel shirt.  Later she messaged me and told me she was wrong, she could totally go back to being friends.  I said I thought that was a bad idea, and that I thought she was a nice girl but we should both just acknowledge that sometimes things get too weird.  She got very insistent, she was my friend, she needed my friendship, she knew we really had a great rapport, blah blah blah.

Anyway, montaging the rest, I got eight months of text messages that rapidly oscillated between really angry/mean to really conciliatory to occasionally really bad, drunk sounding poetry.  It was strange because it seemed like a lot of effort towards a friendship (or whatever she wanted) that was obviously six feet under.  I am not really a handsome dude.  I have no idea what happened.  But there are sections of town I actually avoid now.

tl; dr, but cool story bro

I had a friend who was like this about being *friends*.  Then she left me in the cold for three hours without a ride.  We're not friends any more, and she can suck it.  Those sorts of people are utterly terrifying.

This is a really nice picture, but whenever I look at it, I think of Christopher Lloyd.  Maybe it's just because of the hair.

And not necessarily a bad association!  I love Christopher Lloyd.

Clearly, I am bored this morning.  (And don't know how to photoshop pictures).

I know (from reading some fan fiction), that it's generally accepted that a mage/healer is needed to make people better after a fight.   But in my game, my characters just use injury kits or return to camp and heal on their own.   I only use mage healing during the course of a battle.  Even in battle, the characters can use health poultices.

I know it's the game that is unrealistic in this case, but it means that there is a DA universe which exists in my head, where injuries aren't a problem.  And I think of mage healing as a battle skill only.

He's got arrows in his shoulder.  I don't care how they take care of it, but that's not exactly prime conditions for any sort of activity.

Oh, I just meant in my head, it would be fine, the way I imagine it. My characters are always getting arrows stuck in them and the arrows just melt away if they leave them. It probably wouldn't even need an injury kit.

In real life, yes, injuries aren't quite as romantic as they seem .

I attempt to engage in medical realism in writing, at least until it interferes with narrative (you have to lie to get the truth across, sometimes), so even in my twisted, oh-lawdy-this-H/C-thing-is-hawt brain, that's a little, uh... yeah. Arrows actively in the flesh =/= sexytiems.

I suppose in fan fiction, writing things the way they are in the game would be so far into the realms of magic/science fiction that it would be a different sort of story. Some things don't make sense (like everybody popping up at the end of a fight unless they're all dead).

I wonder what it would be like to play with no injury kits, health poultices or mages and never go back to camp?

I guess he has a Black Knight attitude in that pic--"It's just a flesh wound."

I write that magic heals, but I did write that recovery is needed. I'ved used recovery as a plot mechanic twice now in DDW, and will probably use it again.

Yeah, I'm kind of proud of my IO in light of this discussion. I made Zev run away from almost-dead Alley to go get the other healer. XD He hated it, but he did it.
