I should be playing ME2 like the rest of you, but I've gone back to playing Planescape:Torment, an ancient game!   It's a game I get out again every few years, and it's one of my favourite PC games even though it's pretty dated now (1999).   It used to be difficult to get hold of, but there's now a new DVD version..   (It's actually the old 4 CD version, rather than the later patched version for some reason, but you can download the patch).    I'm playing it on Windows 7 and it seems to be fine.

I would recommend it highly, except that is a very old game, and feels it.  I love it though. I wish there was a game just like this, but updated.

I <3 planescape torment

iv only managed to play through it once sinces its more or less a book its also the only game where dialogue stats are ALOT more important than combat stats

I played myself and got chaotic nuetral

o.O ew.

...So, if the post about a patch says, "The patch is expected at 12 Midnight tonight PST for North America.", does that mean it will be available then, or is that just to placate us PS3 users?

Group hugs fix everything!

So long as I'm left out of it. Claustrophobia has it's limits.

Luckily, I have such a bad memory that I can quite happily play it again if I leave a long enough gap.   I always go for the dialogue stats, even if it means I have to hide behind my companions during combat.   I've been doing a lot of lying this time round, which I think will make me chaotic.

I really feel immersed in the character when playing.   The fact that the character doesn't know who he is, makes it easy for the player to identify with him in the game.   I love that you find things out alongside the character.    I also like the way dying is part of the game, and part of the story.

I see that fish sticks (US) = fish fingers (UK). I was imagining crab sticks, those pink and white things. They would be even more horrible with custard.

Ewww... that's worse than sardines with ice cream!

Dr Who is an alien though and clearly doesn't have good taste buds. As far as alien tastes go, Sten has it right .... CAKE!!!

It has to do something with these group hugs, fridays and naked Zevran and my constant LOL at this thread. Me thinks he might be a little possessive. *hugs everyone anyway*

Planescape Torment is one of the best games ever.  I approve. :D

I've done at least a dozen playthroughs, possibly more, it's just that good.  I'm almost afraid to install it again, as it will invariably suck away hundreds more hours of time.

I have to stick to Dragon Age, I've got a whole pile of characters lined up.  And then there's Awakening.  It's been sitting on my desk for over a month but I can't play it yet since 1.03 is such a bug-ridden disaster.  After that I might want to do some Mass Effect 2.  And then there's Alpha Protocol coming out soon.  So much to play...

And I just got up to the good bit on my current Dragon Age playthrough.  Some Zev-shots.

It's great to see other Planescape: Torment fans.  It holds up well, because once you get into it you do forget about it being so old.  I think the atmospheric sound is very well done.   I tried to play another of my old favourites, Grim Fandango, a while ago.  Unfortunately, I had problems getting it to work, and even the bits that would work were frustrating - I had forgotten how impossible it was without hints.   The atmosphere was still great, though, and the dialogue.

Boyfriends - yes, they have a lot to put up with, don't they?  I make my boyfriend watch my fan videos, look at my screenshots and read my fan fiction.  He has to listen to me talking about earrings and Antiva.   I have one of Charsen's Zevran pictures as desktop background, so he has to look at that too, with me raving about it.   My boyfriend doesn't play games much.   We seem to have completely separate hobbies, which isn't a bad thing.

My gaming plan after I finish something really important: finish current DA:O playthrough, ME1, ME2, DA:O playthrough with male Warden, maybe DA:A with that guy. You have intrigued me by this Planscape talk, I've never played it but I love the engine (and I think it's still too awesome), so maybe it will fit somewhere in the plan too.

.....

Okay. If Sony says North America gets the patch first, the EU gets it later in the day, do the NA players have the right to be F*cking Pissed when EU players suddenly start posting that they are DLing the patch while NA players are sitting there going, "Where is our patch?"
