He's trying to tell us that when the new roomie moves in, he gets to continue sprawling all over the house like a ficus in the Florida sun, and we're SOL about our **** even though we pay half the rent and do all the cleaning/maintenance ****.

I'm going to go **** elsewhere, must remember that this is a happy place.

The only feasible reason would be a medical one, if you were to ask me. . .And even then, it wouldn't so much be asking as supporting what, i'm assuming, is a doctor's opinion...

Otherwise it's just greedy, wanting to lower his sensitivity to up his longevity or whatevernot.

Yeah, I've heard of this. And it's usually a discussion that ends the relationship, because the one asking is usually adamant that the boyfriend does it and the boyfriend is usually just as adamant in his refusal.

Then be VERY glad you do not live in an Arab or Muslim country..... It's commonplace in that region of the world for women to have a rather sensitive bit cut off upon reaching puberty.

I editted my post too late. It's illegal here, but it still goes on in secret, I'm told. In the UK it's seen as quite different to male circumcision which is still carried out legally for non-medical reasons. (Usually, it is different in that it's much more drastic).

I think it can be difficult to go against your family, neighbours, culture and society. I think that can have even more weight than religious beliefs (or add more weight to them). Not an excuse, but maybe a reason, sometimes. As humans, we seem to be driven to fit in.

I find the insistence on genital mutilation of any sort equally abhorrent, as I do with a number of cultural/religious practices that go on in the west (we do it, too; see circumcision discussion). I just wanted to warn people not to look it up unless they know what they're on about.

I think that if non-medical male circumcision was introduced now, it would be only allowed for people who could consent to it.
