Are you kidding me? Tamlen's as dumb as a rock, no way my PCs are doing him.SurrealSadi wrote...
I find the HN origin the most boring and least compelling. 'Ooh, my father's best friend turns out to be a giant douchebag!' compared to 'I just lost my lover(because I'm sure those who play a DEM in this thread play Tamlen is their PC's lover), and will DIE a rather nasty, painful death if I don't leave behind the only people I've ever known and join a group of shemlan just to be "cured".'

Nah, the only thing wrong with Tamlen is that the story wasn't fleshed out. Hmm.. flesh... maybe he needs a kiss option...

That is his only saving grace. It's kind of like Cammen, more would ruin the entire game.

Aww Gorim, that made me sniffle when he came to see me in Prison, and gave me one last hug/kiss? Was so sad...

when you are in the cave you can talk to Tamlen. one of female options for why you are there is so you can be together...by saying that some of the conversations you have with others in the origin will be slightly different.
Wait, so if you try to set up Tamlen as a love interest (I didn't take that path, whatever it was..), it changes some of the other interactions? Whoa. XD I may have to go back and take a look at that.Verly wrote...

I did want to smack Tamlen for being a dummy, but my chica didn't dislike him for that.. I assumed he was supposed to be the impulsive type. "Let's go see that cave!" "Uh, shouldn't we tell someone?" "Noooo let's go nooowww"... silly boy.
I can't decide if I feel like the Dalish origin is rushed or not -- but is it just me, or does Duncan come off as a bit of a douche? At least, a lot more so than the CE, HN or mage origins? :| I guess in the other origins, he's saving your ass, but for the DE, it can just feel like he's pulling you away unwillingly.
Haven't played any dorfs yet, but I think my preferences in origins so far is CE(M) -> Mage == DE -> HN.
(Heh, Ostagar is a big stoppage for me, too, Ostagar + Lothering... my HN's never left Ostagar, took me quite a while to push my DEF out of Lothering, and I rebooted my mage back to Lothering and he's still there at the moment. Kill your own damn bears, bandits and bugs, people!)
Although Charsen looks like "I didn't do it!" on this picture, he is the one who chose and pasted the avatarsTellervo wrote...
*sigh* At least the same actor voiced my favorite Gargoyles character... And has some of the best dialogue in this series.

Am I Number one (Jonathan Frakes)? That means Nonvita is my wife. Great!
And Jonathan Frakes is the one who voiced David Xanatos. Awesome!
I'm the same way about Lothering. It's quick but it makes me lose all of my motivation...The reason I keep starting new characters is mostly because I hit Ostagar and then stop. I haaaate Ostagar. The Wilds, mostly, with the stupid side-quests I always feel like I have to do since I didn't notice them on my first game. The Tower is alright, but the Wilds... sdfesdftweg I hate it. Lothering is boring too, but quick.
My DN couldn't bring herself to be comforted by anyone who didn't happen to be a dwarf, my HM was such a horrbly shallow and self-absorbed persn none of the LI wanted anything to do with her, and my HN would rather be Queen but my DE, CE, EM, and DC certanly helped recover from their Origins that way.Glad to see I'm not the only one who got all twitterpated when my dwarven noble found out Gorim had moved on. But then, there was this handsome elf, and....
I don't know, when he says 'if you become a GW you will be cured' I took that to mean 'it's the only way to save your life' and in some of the other origins it's really not like you have anything bette to do. HN, on the other hand? You need to find your brother and worry about dealing wtih Howe's treachery and Duncan could have helped you escape easily without making your unwilling, dying father promise to make you a GW. That seriously pissed me off and made my HN my second-least dedicated Warden to date (my DC just reallly had nothing better to do and only stuck around in Ferelden because the plot demanded it) so she quit the minute the Blight ended.I can't decide if I feel like the Dalish origin is rushed or not -- but is it just me, or does Duncan come off as a bit of a douche?
