Best bet is to keep him a Dex+Str Dual Wield Rogue, unless you are on PC and have the Re-spec mod. Thanks, I actually play on xbox and PC..  finally got the PC version because of the mods but, controls are much easier on the xbox for me.
It's great to have input on what's available game wise on console.

He also has the best tactics default out of everyone, I never ever touch his tactics. It's so nice to always have him attacking whats attacking me...it dies before I finish killing what I ws targeting. And the mod is ZevASAP. The cutscene with him and Howe will trigger as you head to Lothering, and after the camp nightmare you should meet him on your first outing.

I think you're talking about Charsen's mod ZevranASAP.  For build, I always respec him and make him a cunning rogue because they're more damage and better utility.  Surreal had some great advice for gear.

I actually managed it most of my Aeducan's playthrough. I struggled at first. It just didn't seem to fit her. Lirterally and figuratively, but I stuck with it. Until the landsmeet. There's just nowhere to go. Especially since she made Harrowmont king, it felt right that she return to Orzammar at the end. Doing that while in a romance or chancellor with Alistair just wasn't going to work for me, no matter how I tried to justify it. I realize I'll get the stupid "for a time" epilogue slide with Zev, but I'm going to ignore it. He told her he was with her till the end so...thats good enough.  I'm not happy with her completely. I may play it again, but I don't know.

But I don't see the problem.  They want to change their title to "What's the (Romantic) Appeal of Zevran"?  I suppose they could, but it would be silly as they discuss Alistair!

Edit: As far as thread pages, I already lost one bet thinking they'd overtake us FAR before now!

I was tempted but I knew that he couldn't go back to Orzammar with her and if she gave up Orzammar for him she'd only end up resenting him. Plus, you know, heartbreak. I RP that Aunn and Gorim were together for two years and so after she finds out it takes pretty much the rest of the trip before she's moved on enough that seeing him at the coronation wasn't awkward and Zev doesn't deserve to be a rebound guy. Still, he was a great friend.

Yup, that's why he's always in my party. I have a tendency to not watch my own PC's back, so having a party member there to do so is wonderful.

I think Zevran's romance is done better if it's done slowly.  He is fighting falling in love so hard, but bit by bit his defenses crumble.  It's very sweet and sad at the same time, how he tries to keep the warden at a distance but doesn't quite manage to do so.

Edit: I love how it's in his default tactics to attack anything that attacks the warden.  I always leave that one in there, even though it's not great if you're playing a warrior.

Second edit: I'm such a sap, but I still think one of the most touching things about his romance is that he'll tell a warden he adores about his last mission, but he won't tell a non-romanced warden about it until after Taliesen is killed.  He trusts his lover so early -- despite all he says, there's a real closeness there.

His romance is amazing. it's just as good if not better than Alistair's (that's right...I said it). And at first it drove me nuts that it didn't really pick up til late in the game, but I think it rather appropraite that his romance peaks as the games does.

That after...  That's put in by dialog tweaks.  And yes, it's a good change.  If you have sex with him before he's in love, or in the vanilla game, the after talk is QUITE different!
