good stuff
Oh, I like it when people have just started on Zevran. I can repeat all the good stuff about him without feeling guilty.
But so true, he's just as good as a friend without being romanced. He will be a loyal friend, and the Warden can count on him.
I don't understand this Zevran hate either. His romance is so easy to turn off. Don't hedge, don't challenge him (the don't bother line), just say "No" and he'll back off for good.
Now Leliana..., every play-through, no matter how rude my PC is to her, she suddenly falls in love. I don't mind her, I have little use for her, she and Wynne usually stay in camp, but having to constantly break up with her is getting tiresome.
Can you imagine the screaming and yelling going on in the forums if Zevran was that glitchy?
What's a "bromance"? I'm sorry, I'm not English. I'm pretty good at it, if I say so myself, but I've never heard that word before.
Ah. You know... I wonder if some of the guys screwed up, thinking being too blunt would offend or something, and thus hedged instead of saying no outright? I'll have to try it in a playthrough just to find out. Yeah, haters are just... insecure imbeciles who are going to miss out on possibly the best storry and character development in the game.
I truthfully don't like Leliana. My Dalish liked her well enough at first... She was kind to him, had her own religious beleafs that she liked to share with others, and liked to ask others about theirs, but didn't try to force her faith on others, so I respected that. She was a bit ignorant of the Dalish, but unintentionally so, and when I told her so, she handled it wonderfully, saying she never realised how easy it is to acsept things the way they are, but I make her realise how frong that is, and now she has much to reflect on, and thanked me. I quite liked her at that point, and started the ritual of showering her with gifts. lol
THEN she opens up to me about how much she loves shoes, and how being a killer was such fun untill she was betrayed and tortured, and she reveals that this was the only reason she fled to Ferelden and the Chantry... to escape. She had implied in various earlier dialogue that she's repentant, but when she opened up to my character, she did not sound it at all. She sounded like she had not a single regret about it. I couldn't be rude to her about it, because it would seem hypocritical from someone who is romancing an assassin, but there weren't good options to politely chalange her views or dig deeper, ether. She came off verry shallow and complacent, and my aprooval of her droped dramatically f only there was such a meeter. At least Zevran is conflicted about the nature of an Assassin, and deep down has a lot of regret. Not to mention he was abused since as early as he could remember, raised in squalor as an Assassin aprentice against his will no less, and forced into acsepting his fate or suffer the consequences. What was Lelliana's memory of her past? Lovely sitting rooms where she could model the latest fassions and the great fun of the most dangerous game. Ugh. I will not do her personal quest.
Shame about the glich. If she starts doing that in mine, I might just ask her to leave. It's so... ugh... my character feels it would be cruel to turn her away... he would hope there's more to her, like there's more to Zev... but if there is anyone at camp that makes him uncomfortable it's sweet sweet Leliana. *shuders*
It's a shame about Alistair's glitch towards the end of the game, as well. I would be so pissed if Zev had a glitch that serious, because it would be such a waste of an amazing character and storry. I really think a patch should be done to fix these obvious glitches. It's lazy of them not to. They're making plenty of mony, so no excuses about deadlines and alocations of funds, etc.
Oh, and a bromance is basically funny slang denoting a strong plutonic (non-romantic, non-sexual) love between guys.
