And I don't think it even burned me out! Obviously making myself work in short bursts and pausing here and there when I didn't even yet feel like I had to was very helpful. *totally just figured this out, yes XD* Pausing for a few days when the basic groundwork was done helped too, I think.

I'll be doing some writing, and then mmmmaybe I will finally draw one of the solo-Zev ideas that's been pecking at my brain. He's an inspiring elf.

And I'm a terrible person for not finishing my Aeducan origin so I can read your fic.  I just got distracted by shinys (looks at ejoslin's  and charsen's Zev mods).  My DC needs some Zev love before my Aeducan can get past the first conversation with Gorim.

I  the DN origin but I really hate how it ends. Then again, all of the origins have tragic endings because how else can Duncan force you to join the Wardens if you're RP someone that doesn't want to.

Is there any point in wondering how these people got tattoos? I mean, I doubt they had needles in all these settings and the brand sounds like it was, well, branded on but what about the other kinds? Like the ones the Dalish have?

Needles did exist back then. But they were not as sharp and thin as they are now. Undoubtedly getting a tattoo was a painful process. The dalish use it as a "rite of passage".... I hate to say the quote and not be 100% accurate, but if I recall it loosely enough, the blood writing is started and if the Dale cannot maintain their composure, they're considered not yet grown. Only once their tattoo is finish with the pain mastered (I think it's symbolicly related to their theory of not submitting, as is their oath against humans) are they respected more than children. After that your test for your role (hunter, crafter... ie SquirrelCheeks and SorryMasterArathorn) seals the deal and you can wed and have children.
That's my impression of the system, anyways.
