One of these idea's means I need to ask a favour. I want you to imagine this thread as a room where we all are, what's the furniture like, is Zev 'there' or is he there in a painting or something, etc. Be as detailed as you like.

If I do choose to do it won't be until I've got some practise pictures done and then it could end up taking a while.

Zev is sitting in the middle of the room, in a reclining pose, sort of like a centerpiece... there to be talked about and around.  I'm suddenly seeing it as some sort of party, with everyone standing and mingling as party goers do, with him on a divan, obviously the center of focus but not the subject of scrutiny.  Like a piece of fine art tying a room together.  Does that make sense?

That sounds like it would fit this thread so perfectly, Tell!

Hey, if I were doing something like that, I wouldn't mind half-assing the guns. There's enough detail elsewhere that you're gonna have to do.

Someday I'll do a Sanzo fanart and put lots of detail into his S&W M10 and then I'll feel better.

Edit: As it is, if I do "Elves In Black" there may be 1911s involved. Unf.

Aro, if you ever get frustrated with your art, just remember there are people out there who spend way more time on their stuff than you. People like me. Because I sit down one day and think, "This would be amazing!" without considering the ridiculous amount of detail involved and my complete and utter lack of knowledge of the programs I'm using. So I've been staring at this same darn piece far longer than is healthy and it's much beyond the point where I can tell if it's good or not. That and the worst is yet to come because gosh darn it he HAD to be in CLOTHES. Stupid clothes. If everyone could be naked all the time I'd be a much happier person. SOMEDAY I WILL FINISH THIS. But in the meantime, Princess artwork is distracting me, amongst other things. And every time I go to work on this I put off the hard stuff in favor of tweaking. Constant tweaking. NOTHING GETS DONE BY TWEAKING. *sigh* Is it obvious I'm going insane?

Hahaha, the current chapter of IO is like that. Partially because it could go in several different directions as of the instant that I paused it at, and I dunno which way I waaaaant it to go. D:

And Nonvita. XD I only just recently started getting faster. As in, as of the last picture before Mark of Death. I spent over sixty hours of work on the first portrait I did. It didn't even involve clothes! I really honestly do burn out on art for years at a time, there's huge gaps all over the timeline of my devart account. I think this will be the first time I manage to do three pictures before a burnout. D: And I'm working sloooowly to try to avoid it as long as I can.

I usually end up staring at stuff, drawing or writing equally, until I literally cannot process any of it anymore. I had to read one of my recent IO chapters out loud to myself just to catch redundancies and such because I honestly tried re-reading it for the four-hundredth time and there was absolutely nothing that made sense. It was even worse than when you read a paragraph and then can't remember any of it because it didn't soak in -- it was like that for every. single. sentence. D: D: In stories where I usually write longer chapters that happens for almost every single one of them.

And the best part is, when I finally re-read that IO chapter again, weeks later, and it made a little sense again? I had still missed some crap. The fact that I haven't had to teeter on the edge of deleting these last three pictures (though Mark of Death came close at the thirty hour mark) has been really novel. Usually I'm so sick of looking at stuff I make in any medium I feel like I could spit blood by the time it's done.

I'm still envious of folks who can just randomly draw their ideas.

And lol shoes, Mina. Whenever I try to wear narrow sandals my balance gets thrown off, and I dunno why. I can climb around on a mountain in 5-inch heels, but narrow sandals and I aren't generally on speaking terms.
