If you're implying the Wardens get hit on, I must be wearing the wrong brand of cologne. The only one who's ever come across as actually flirting (in my opinion) is Bella in Redcliffe. Kaitlyn will get all sort of fluster-y (it might be an elf thing, because there's a dialogue path with that) but outside that, I haven't noticed excessive swooning in the streets. For Alistair, maybe... bastard prince that he is.

I swear to you someone mentioned "legendary Grey Warden stamina" to me.  I must now replay the entire game to find this and take a screenshot to prove it.

I don't regard that as flirting anymore, though. Could be my chauvinism shows but oh well. I mean, there's no actual need to hit on anyone at that stage. The next day, well, that's a different thing.

I do get the impression that people find the player characters attractive, so I find it difficult to make an really unattractive character (now that I know how other characters will react to him/her). I think one of the reasons I'm struggling to play through my Dalish rogue is that I don't really like the way he looks, and it's hard to convince myself that the other characters do.

You could make the fugliest PC possible, and it wouldn't matter. Someone in the game would find them attractive. Hell, if you look at Artemis, my Dalish Female, she's not exactly attractive...

And that's why widespread 'Grey Warden fetish' is the only possible explanation.

Yes.  My son made a pretty ugly character, who was an old man.   I think he got a bit fed up with it, because it didn't make much sense.   You don't get a lot of guidance at the start when you create your character.   An elderly PC doesn't work well in any of the origins.    My Dalish rogue isn't ugly as such.  I just don't like the way he looks.

But the flirting does have it's appeal to a womanly vanity or conceitedness now, doesn't it?

It's not all flirting, though. That one elf spy in the tavern at Redcliffe and Dwyn both basically say 'Yes, I can see that you're pretty but go away.' That's hardly flirting and yet still affirming that you're apparently attractive.

Well, there's flirting, and there's flirting with intent. There's a lot of the former in the game, and precious little of the latter. Even with flirty Bella, you just get a kiss and then off you go. They are a bunch of teases, those DA characters.

I haven't played female characters. Which party initiates the flirting in your mind, then?

he's not bad looking. I think, though, the Blood Writing he has doesn't suit his features.

Sometimes people randomly say that you're pretty like Berwick does. You just walk up to him an he says that you're very pretty but he's waiting for something. Then for Dwyn you technically start it if you ask him to fight and he asks you how you plan on convincing him and you suggest a more personal reward, which he translates to mean you're offering to sleep with him in which case he says it's not worth dying for but also notes that you are, again, very pretty. Jarvia refers to you as the 'pretty one.' There doesn't even need to be flirting going on to make it clear that these people find you attractive no mater what your origin/actual looks.

Teagan, of course, is a shameless flirt if you just try asking him about his family.

Hahaha, I have to pretend, when characters call Alley beautiful or whatever, that they didn't actually say that. In those conversations I'm not really doing anything IC, so I tend pretend they went differently. In the fic, things are certainly different. The game doesn't know if a character isn't supposed to be hot, so it just assumes all PCs are handsome/beautiful and moves on. Can't really blame it for that.

It's always funny when I have Alley talk to Zev and he starts flirting with "the beautiful Grey Warden" and Alley in my head just wants to ask him if he's blind or drunk. The option doesn't exist, though, so I ignore those conversations IC-wise and write the fanfic versions accordingly.

(I understand some folks argue that Alley isn't really that ugly once they see the head morph for DA, but because she's not grotesque or utterly deformed in the face, putting her in a visual format = some people will always go "Hey, that's not ugly!" but I can't really help that, either. I don't think she's hideous, but she's not meant to be a pretty girl. Adding the scar tissue the head morph doesn't have helps a little, too.)

I guess I just accept that some parts of the game aren't going to synch with Alley's face. That's okay though... a lot of things don't synch with Alley's face. XDD Except, apparently, things that break her nose or slice her up.

He totally is, and it's kind of hilarious.

I'm pretty sure that's a large part of why he's practically a meme in his own right. Any girl!Warden could have bagged him if it hadn't been in the middle of a zombie apocalypse.

yeah, Missa would've if they weren't so busy what with the whole abomination zombie thing, and Teagan having to organise his sister in law's funeral. So she boned Ser Perth instead.

...What?

I know a couple of my fem Wardens would have happily bagged him... Even in the middle of a zombie apocolypse.

Well, being that Ser Perth is voiced by the delectable Elliot Cowan, who is the 2nd sexiest Mr. Darcy of all time, by proxy makes him utterly bone-able. I approve of Missa's tastes *thumbs up*
