Whether it's casual or committed -- the dialogs truly support both. What is constant is you have someone who has been taught that falling in love, that any attachment, is wrong. If the warden brings up love, Zevran will say it's impossible.

However, there are so many dialogs that support that he was falling in love from the start, including the discussion with Wynne when she apologizes.

You don't have to play it that way. You can definitely have it be casual, have it be FWB all the way until he falls in love and the dialogs support that. But since there is so much that supports it the other way as well, it something that I at least can't have strong feelings about it -- both are right.  But I still get the feeling no matter how hard he is trying to keep it casual, he was falling in love from the start.

Doesn't he actually say that at some point? I'm pretty sure I remember him saying that he knew from the time you spared his life that romance was going to happen (not just sex). I could be wrong but I haven't got access to the toolset to check atm.

Maybe not what you were looking for, but he does say something about feeling confused since the first time he came to your tent.   That swings it for me.   If he was confused, there must have been something going on from that point, I think.   He thinks it's casual sex, but he's already starting to fall in love.  

When I say, he thinks it's casual sex, though, I don't think it's in the usual sense.   I really like that he leaves it up to the warden, about whether the sex continues or not.  There's no pressure, but I think he wants it to continue.   It's never quite casual in the one night stand sense, because it can't happen until after some conversations, and particularly after that one you've been talking about when he asks where your arrangement is going. 

I'm not sure what to think of the tent option not coming up from the beginning - whether it's meant to mean he's reluctant, or that the warden is reluctant.  Probably the warden, because he more or less offers sex at the ambush.   He just then takes a step back and waits for you take him up on it.  (Or you can wait for him to offer further down the line).

yeah, they are both identical. And they are easy to change -- just make a ring you like and export it with the name of the rings in the mod. Copy the .utc file to your override and bam, your own ring. =)

I know the stats are the same.  It's just because one ring is lucky, it feels to me as if the other one is unlucky.  I would worry about having an unlucky ring!

Well, Zev DID try to kill the Warden. I'd be reluctant to jump into bed with an assassin before having some kind of reassurance that he wasn't gonna try to finish the job. So yes, I think it's due to the Warden being reluctant.

As for who initiates the sexytime, I prefer it to be him for 2 reasons. On the one hand, you can see it as a form of power struggle: the attraction's been established, now each is waiting for the other to give in. And Zev, who's supposed to view it all as casual and not care, actually gets impatient and breaks first. On the other hand, it also breaks the "master-servant" dynamic, to a certain extent: he's not simply obeying the warden, the initiative comes from him.

@ ejoslin: Concerning the sexytime kisses: how did they mess those up? They're the pre-1st time kisses, yes? Does that mean the ones in the console versions aren't the proper ones or something?

In the vanilla game, aside from the kisses being short and not that passionate (grin), most responses for going to the tent do not lead to a kiss. Instead, the camera just focuses on Zevran and he says his line while closing his eyes. There are a few lines that actually lead to the kiss, but most do not. For instance, if he propositions the warden, there are five paths (or three, depending on where you count the path splits) you can end up going down (if you take him up on it), four will not lead to a kiss and one will. This is wrong, though. The script note is very clear that all his responses should lead to a kiss, not just that particular one.

Edit: It's not as bad if you proposition him, but still, there are paths that should lead to a kiss in those that do not.

Wow, I must've gotten lucky then: I got a kiss when I tested inviting him to the tent. Let's see if I can repeat the performance when he propositions the warden.

But you're right, that IS lame. Seems the case for the PC game keeps piling up.

No you don't.  On the pc you can move straight ahead by pressing both mouse buttons and turn by turning the mouse.  A vast improvement that I only discovered on about my fifth playthrough.

lol and yes, of course... loads of private spam! we spam each other several times a day. in fact, he spammed me so long last night i didn't have room for it all. but it was ok, i spammed him til he was full too.

These are amazing!  I love them .  It's so completely different from anything else.   You seem to be able to do things that the designers didn't even think of.

Jayelet, dialog tweaks has already put it in. I have four copies of my fixes to zevran_main -- two of them are dialog tweaks compatible; there's not a Spanish option for that, though, is there. The way my toolset is acting, I'm not sure if I could get you a loadable b2b -- I could add them in for you and try, but there wouldn't be the jealousy comments that are in dialog tweaks. I did other fixes as well. I could make you one for translating, but it would not have the dialog tweak fixes to it (I'm not comfortable with making a b2b with someone else's work), and I would have to get charsen's permission to release one based on ZevRing.



Right now, I can't save files in my toolset so I'm not sure how well behaved a b2b would be.

this is exactly what happened to me a few weeks ago. basically no one knows why it happens or how to fix it, sadly. reinstall usually works but meh. =/ you may have to dupe your unsaved dialogue files to new dialogue files, try to use Terra's program to redo the strings, see if you can B2B it and then do a full uninstall/reinstall. sadly there is a big chance you will lose work. it really sucks. the toolset is very unkind.



jayelet, i still need to send you that party_events.dlg too. i'll send you that tonight. but yes like EJ says, DT basically adds in kisses for most files. i definitely recommend it. i'm currently trying to redo the kisses from DT.



do as you like with Zevring EJ, lemme know if you release it and i'll link it from my mod page too.

Thanks Ejoslin, but dialog tweaks was the first module that translated into Spanish (Zevran portion only, of course), and when I offered to its author did not want ^ ^.

But kissing on that module are processed, so adding them said no to the module, but the file Zevran_mail.dlg: P
