Oh, I get it... I think I trigered it DURING the whole hoopla of trying to get him in the tent.  XD

In order to even get the option, the romance has to be started.  Homophobic males would scream if it were any other way -- and they still scream because I guess Zevran's romance starting lines are SO subtle.  It's pretty easy to start, though, if not paying attention.  And since he doesn't proposition the warden until 71, it's not something you'd necessarily catch.  The only thing that really changes is his greeting and the tent option if you go to "I want to discuss something personal."

Ok, that all makes sence.  Boy oh boy do I have a memory for details.  *head desk*  I blame lack of sleep... I didn't sleep last night at all... and now that it's night again... wide awake.  It's always this way.  I can sleep when the sun comes up, though.

I had fun doing those dialogs, though.  He is being SO playful.  I would imagine it's a slightly different dynamic with m/m than it is with m/f because he is really making the warden spell it right out, and I think that would be more natural with a man. There is a very good reason I like to wait until he asks.  But I have to admit, it's very funny.  Especially since the second time he called my warden a tease when she said, "Well, if you don't want to . . . " Completely unexpected answer.

Edit: Rest well!

Zzzzz. . . Tired. I wrote up the Blair/Wynn and Zevran/Wynn conversations for my fic. I think maybe I made her *too* mean. It's a fine line!

Ah!!!  XD

It is great.  I'll do the slower relationship in another file.  My elf just realy took Zevran's whole 'I think you're handsome and we should live for today' mentality to heart.  XD  So the playfull coy Zevran who wouldn't go in the tent literally had me doubled over in my seat, I was gigling so hard.  XD  Though I think Dristen felt pretty confused and put out.  LOL

I look forward to fic!

Thing to remember with Wynne is, as hurtfull as she can be, it is never meant that way... She is not aware, in her mind, that the way she aproaches people and the expectations she has of them are just plain cruel.

Like in her first banter with Zev...  She seemed completely oblivious to how presumptuos she sounded and how cruel it is to talk down to him about THAT subject in particular.   Likewise she didn't understand why it was terribly hurtful to confront the Warden so sternly about her relationship with Zev.  She thinks she's trying to spare both of you the pain of loss, and spare the world the risk of failure due to distraction.  In theory that is understandable... But her unwilingness to hear the Warden out, and her constant measuring of others against her self and her own sence of duty, are very cruel and condescending.  Basicaly, for all her grandmotherly charm she has when she shares her own backstory and such, she still lacks the social graces to aproach people with tact when she thinks they are doing something wrong, and does not understand that she does not have the right to impose her will on people she hasn't even bothered to get to know on their own terms.  Alistair can be much the same way, though less forceful.  His just results in silly little spats and temper tantrums.  XD

He is being playful, the way he laughs/chuckles in those two dialogs kills me!  Ahh... I wonder if my to-be Dalish girl might end up going down that route... hehe..

Speaking of differences in the m/m approach, I'm curious how this convo might resolve with a female PC.  This is with a male PC at Interested.

(after the "is there something in your tent that needs assassinating?")
PC: I bet you're good at a lot of things.
Zevran: Hmm.  That's quite an offer, especially coming from another man... if  we are both speaking of the same thing.

Having no particular opinion on the bisexual issue I thought Zevran was awesome! He was fun, outrageous, mysterious, interesting ... in my second playthrough I had my female warden juggling between him and Leliana because I could not decide which one I liked more. While I enjoyed most all of the characters, the two bisexual characters were my favorites, hands down.

ok I finished my male HN tonight. But I need help because I am a bit disappointed in a couple of dialogs I missed.

Got the first earring, rejected it. He was at 100 adore so he stayed with me through Taliesin. We had a positive conversation after that (was that where I went wrong ?) Because after That he was at love.

Lots of mi amora, public kissing, etc. Wynne said she liked our relationship. I ended up deciding to Save Loghain this time. WOW was Alistair ANGRY! Glad I was a guy this time! I did think it odd that no one else seemed to care.

I'm glad I did loghain once but might not be able to do it again. Although I prefer Zev I really love Alistair's clumsy little boyness, and it hurt me to hurt him so much. I doubt if a female char can do that to him. Tho I really do like how Loghain talked to me afterwards... After reading the books I decided I really did have to let him live just this once at least.

I got the lovely Zevran speech about "to the Black City"

Anyway, I go along quite happily waiting for the second earring conversation and IT NEVER HAPPENED! I'm soo disappointed. Do male Chars not get it ?

At the very end, Zevran is very happy. He is going off with me to help rebuild the grey wardens. But I so wanted that second earring speech. So, what did I do wrong?

Now, I need to decide between City Elf or Elf Mage for next play...

oh, and I've decided I'm going to avoid Leliana the ENTIRE time this next play through (well after I get Sten at least). She has really been getting on my nerves. I wont make her go away cause I want to hear the song again. But I'm just gonna let her sit and not talk to her.

When back at camp, you have to pick "I'm no wiser than you in that area". I know there's another line you can also pick that will get the earring talk back. However, if you pick "I feel the same way", the earring never comes back up.

Leliana, yeah, I understand completely. I don't have the heart to make my PC leave her in Lothering, but she most likely will avoid Leliana in camp. I'm so tired of having my PC constantly break up with her, even though she never romances the bard on purpose. She tells Leliana that she is a friend, that she is nothing more than a friend, avoids shoe and hair things with completely neutral and/or even slightly rude answers, and it still happens.

I'm beginning to wonder if my game is just really glitched in regards to Leliana. I truly don't want Zevran calling my PC on the carpet, making her choose between him and Leliana, simply because he seems to think that either my PC or Leliana is a man. I hate that bug in-game. I can fully understand that the m/m romance player is annoyed at having the epilogue that the PC is female and Zevran goes of with *her* instead of using the right gender.

I wish I could take a peek at the toolset. There has to be a way to fix that. It's a simple gender check, one would think. I mean, how hard can it be to acknowledge the woman romance partner as female, and the male one as a man?

Another snip from my Zev story, much further along (post-Archdemon). Also, as a side note, how do we add signatures on the board? I don't see where that option is under profile.

Sabriana, you know you want to tell him, "Maybe it would be better for you if we stopped."  It really gives the sweetest dialog, and yes, you get the second offer of the earring.

Anyway, just confirming that those are the two answers that lead to the second offer!

ES, *grin* this came up in another thread (yet again).  The reason I dislike Wynne to the extent I do has to do with this . ..  You need to roll a City Elf Female, and take Wynne to the gauntlet.  I pretty much guarantee you will see what she says in a whole different light.  I can tell you more, but I don't want to ruin that origin story for you (it's absolutely awful).

Just romanced Zevran for the first time... damn, I love him. That massage conversation was just priceless, I replayed it 5 times, everytime choosing different dialogue options.

When I read here (actually everywhere) that Wynne is a real pain when you're romancing Zevran I thought everyone was exaggerating... Apparently not, I really missed the option 'kill Wynne' when she started about Zevran and my Warden. x.x'

Oh, I agree.  Now, it does show Wynne at her absolute worst, admittedly, but it also shows that her advice is not really well-meaning or kindly; and no matter how kind her tone, she is harshly judgmental and cares very much about how others view her more than trying to actually help.  I took Wynne to the Gauntlet in that game after she had asked about my Warden's origin and told her she could find no fault in her actions, though she was shaken by the Warden's cold satisfaction.  So who were those comments really for?  To look good to the Guardian or the rest of the party?

To keep it on topic, I far prefer Zevran's comments there about self-flagellation.  Even Morrigan is more comforting than Wynne. (LOL< like I care about being on topic.  I just like talking about Zevran).

She's just as bad if you refuse to answer the Guardian's question, imo. You just said you don't want to talk about it, but she just keeps prying and prodding and trying to discover what you're hiding so she can give you another sanctimonious lesson in morality.

I took her to the Gauntler for the first time in my City Elf female playthrough. First time I've ever felt hurt on behalf of a bunch of pixels.

Edit: The best group for the Gauntlet I've found so far is Zevran, Morrigan, and Sten. They all agree that it's unneccessary to dig up the past and they all support you when you refuse to answer the question.

I don't think this is totally true.  She initially just sticks her foot in her mouth, but then if you make her angry is purposefully rude.  There's the famous "darkspawn take you!" comment, and I ran across another in the "What is a Gray Warden" conversation where she tells the PC that s/he just enjoys listening to the sound of his/her voice (I believe it was after I picked the response "You're not making this Gray Warden thing any easier" when she's lecturing about serving the people).

@ Ejoslin

Thanks, that was actually the line I was searching for in my head, which never works on a Saturday morning btw. Yes, indeed, I'm actually looking forward to using that one next time around.

I'm still staring at my dwarf lady, and I still have no idea whether to start the Commoner or Noble Origin first. Why are they making this so hard? I'm getting over the 'arm' thing, taking everyone's advise, now I'm bogged down again.

I think I'll start the Commoner first. I'm one of those 'social justice' and 'human rights' fanatics in RL, so maybe I can get really, really po'd in this playthrough. Lets see

1. Human Mage - silly, falls for Alistair and ignores all the warning signs

2. HN rogue - conniving, hard, practical. Sees Alistair as a stepping stone.

3. HN warrior - my bestest girl, ever. Prim and proper. Sees Alistair as a proper match for a Cousland

4. HN rogue - in progress. PTSD, weird, damaged. Went for Alistair, because he was there first.

1 thru 4 - Zevran to the rescue. He got them all, and he helped them all, one way or another. Poor Alistair. 1 woman who'd rather stick her head in scalding water than become his piece on the side (I guess I have to give my silly mage some credit there), and 3 women who just up and left him for a *gasp* elven assassin. :)

So I guess I'm due a really angry, spit on the world dwarven lady, lol.

@ Creature

So, Wynne, who my PC can't shut up unless they hit her with a 2x4 (an option that sadly not exists), tells the Warden that she talks too much. I see. Makes perfect sense. Of course, you'd have to be in Wynne's head for that. Ewwww.

Frankly, after finding out that she actually tries to entice the Warden mage back into the tower *in the middle of the Blight*, nothing will surprise me anymore about her. Make me angry, yes. Surprise me, no.

I always wondered what would happen if you refuse to answer. I've got to try that on my next playthrough. Certain origin characters shouldn't  have to answer, because the question asked is so unfitting. Did my PC fail Jowan when the whole escape attempt was a setup from the start? Please.....
