And Wynne's take on the matter is so horrible that I'd rather she didn't say anything. When she says her 'who could ask for more' and you say Alistair she says something about how he's a poor boy but people would rather gawk at a something living and by that she means you. If you say Loghain she's all snippy and 'well, he can't have expected anything more.' It's like: I get you don't like him but he just died to save everyone! Show some freaking respect! Even Alistair is more respectful of Loghain's sacrifice.

*pokes soignee* Do Not Apologize for "walls of text". I love reading DDW, and seeing how a truly good writer does chapters like this helps me learn how to write chapters instead of 500 page long short stories.

I can understand people in general caring more about Loghain, people who didn't know them both, and obviously Anora would care more.    But for Alistair not to be remembered by the people he fought alongside is very bad.   The ungrateful lot.  What a crappy ending for him.   Poor Alistair.  I can hardly blame him for pissing off and becoming a wandering drunk now.  Maybe he senses something I didn't.

off to play the game as Veylya. she is going to try to take things slow with Zev...we'll see how long that lasts. She's grown up watching her sister be a NH and her drunk abusive mother complain about her father and it's warped her mind about intimacy. She thought Alistair was cute as well, but very dumb, but as soon as he told her about being a hidden noble she *really* knew that he was only going to be a friend (he does make her laugh though) she was not going to become a noble hunter and disappoint her sister who has dreams of Veylya somehow becoming a paragon someday.

She's very much into Zev. but is afraid of jumping in too fast. she see's that they have a lot in common. off to go adventuring ....

What you say is not ...

That last sacrifice of the character, can only be done, but you are in romance with Alistair. So I do not think Alistair is the most hurt in that scene.



If a very "romantic scene", but ruled out the truth.

But Alistair is always "super good" history. One thing that I am not at all agree.

They're lovely scenes, and yes I'd love to see ejoslin's suggestion for a Zevran variant.

(By all technicalities, I've completed Alistair's romance in a game more times than Zevran's: 1 vs 0...)

First time through I romanced both characters and ended up breaking it off with Zev for Ali until Ali flung himself on the AD, at which point Zevran had already been glitched back into love, so at the end we went off traveling together and lived happily ever after and it was really nice. Once I realized at the end that I'd missed out on some awesome lovage from Zevran I found this wonderful thread and the rest is history. Second playthrough I romanced no one, and such is the extent of my DA playage. That would also be why I have nothing insightful to add to this thread.

I played the Dragon Age, about 20 times.

3 With Alistair, the first three.

17 with Zevran.

Why?

A character started with Leliana ... ends up with Zevran.

Morrigan began with two characters ... Zevran ended

With so many wins without a doubt Zevran.



And if I know all the endings. But my favorite hero remains Zevran.
