It was an all-too-rare moment of self-recrimination, too, where Blair realizes half his problems are because he's kind of a jerk.

Edit:  Drat, that's where it was.  I lost an entire new scene I was adding.  But at least I remember what it was now so I can rebuilt it--bigger and better than before!

Is this going to prevent today's update?

Slavedriver! No, this will be a short section after the chapter after today's short update. I had to get it sorted out because I was thinking I'd de-emphasize some content in today's to bring it up later, and was trying to figure out where in heck I meant to put it. So still on schedule. If the last two paragraphs would stop giving me a headache.

If he had liked you, you may have learned that he was actually hoping that the warden would kill him.  He never expected to win, and he certainly did not expect to be spared.

Concerning the Tamlen-Zevran comparison...I can see where it's coming from: Zev's stories do show a reckless side to him. I think the main difference is that Zev is smarter. Or more street-wise, if you will: even if he got himself into sticky situations in the past, he always seemed to fall on his feet. So maybe he didn't always think things through, but he always got out of messes somehow. Tamlen...no so much. Probably because he's never had to experience the conditions Zev had. Had Zev been raised as a Dalish and Tamlen as an assassin...who knows? They might've had even more in common. As it is, Tamlen has a naivete that even young Zev probably didn't have. And that's his fatal flaw.

On a different topic, I've just hit the Landsmeet, and I can't seem to decide what to do with Alistair...I mean, Anora does sound like she'd be more capable as a ruler, in a purely practical sense, but I really don't like her. So I certainly don't want her to be queen on her own, but I don't even think I want to marry Alistair off to her. He's hardened, so...will he be ok on his own? I'm not sure.

Then again, I could still feed him to the archdemon...I really don't want to, but the alternative would be just...creepy.

Back on the Zev topic though, I finalized the romance (was grinning like an idiot at the second earring convo). Accidentally clicked on Morrigan in the field afterwards, and was surprised to see she had an opinion about it. Made me chuckle though. "He must be good in bed if you took so many risks to be close to him." GW: "Oh, you have no idea"

Yes, if you talk to him in the cave and tell him to talk if it will calm him down he'll ask why you came with him. If you say that you wanted to be with him then you two are set as potential future bondmates and he'll confess his love before he attacks you.



Also, hardened Alistair will do fine on his own although the epilogues imply that the pair together are more effective than either alone but that's metagaming.

I know there is a lot of picspamming in this thread too but I don't recall really seeing a lot of picspam of Zevran done by other people. Instead, there are a lot of screenshots from other games and real people.

Confused. Are you saying there is not enough Zevran at all, or that the Zevran that is present is art done by the person posting? If the first, I don't think so, if the second, I post Zevran pics that are not drawn by me all the time (since I don't draw), and the pic at the top of this page is not drawn by Tellervo.

The friday pic spam is just a Tradition now, and as such can be removed from this statement, and CZ's GUIS I DID THIS IN A GAME is also another thread tradition and opens up some interesting conversations and I  it.

Zevthread's actually kind of chilled in some regards, and has to be with the nature of the love interest aspect of it.

I could get pyschological about thisssssss, I suppose. If we remove the posters that are here for the lulz and the GOODTIEMZ, as well as the ones who view Zevran as a friend for their warden and not a LOLHOT HE IS HOT RIGHT? figure, you're left with a wide bunch of people who take "their" Zevran and bend him and shape him to what they want.

Throw in the bisexuality element and/or the moral depravity, and you got a lot of Zevrans to bend and shape around your stories/wardens. No one's going to be absolutely astounded with every picture posted here of Zev art, as that's not "their" Zevran, if you see what I mean. He gets it more then Alistair/Morrigan as those characters seem fairly... straight (not a pun!) in their approach to their characters and the romance. Leliana has the chance to be just as broad, but her fans seem fairly quiet.

People latch onto different things with all the characters, but Zevran seems more varied. I'm sure there's someone here  who's sick of my Missa/loldwarf spam, and loathe what I do with him. "He wouldn't say that, blah blah... " etc so forth. i'm cool with that, even if it occasionally pushes me to wave my "dwarves are awesome **** you" flag angrily sometimes.

Zevran fans! Can't please 'em all. All the above can be complete waffly bollocks, I'm not sure.

*eta* There was a point here somewhere, and now I crave waffles.

I also think there's not a lot of Zevran picspamming because we've already seen most of them. The Ali girls post a lot of screenshots of Ali and various mods, but I just don't think most of the people here are like that. There used to be more pics, but I think a lot of us haven't played the game as much lately, so we don't have new ones. The thread is also just a whole heck of a lot slower than it used to be.

And agreed with Soignee's lovely post! It's true that everyone has their own Zevran more than Alistair or Morrigan--you can see it in the range of fanart or the fact that many people mod their Zevs (whereas there are almost no Alistair mods, and those that exist are pretty subtle). So I think that makes people tend to keep their images of him a little more personal and private than with other characters.

And also for some reason I think this thread just ended up attracting people who normally aren't into fangirly/fanboy squee.

Edit: And now I want waffles, too.

Agree with soignee, I just don't like a lot of Zevran art.  There are only a handful of fanart pics that I do like.

Yes, I loaded up DA and found the last savegame for Blair was back in February.  I ran into a combat and got half the party killed because I was so out of practice, and kept going, "Wait, he doesn't have that spell yet??  He's got it in my fic!"  Of course since February he and Blair have >50k words written for them, but that doesn't make very good screencaps. 

I have some screenshots, and have posted a few, but all of us have played the game and seen similar scenarios, so why post screenies?
