For some reason, I hate the thought of
anyone in a speedo, including Zevran. That's probably sacrilege
though.

Sacrilege indeed! (Though honestly I just enjoy the thought for the lols, speedos are really awkward.)

Hmm, true. I vote for Princess.

So something like this:
Princess: *prances down the beach in a tiny swimsuit like a Baywatch babe*
MG: *gurgle gurgle* HELP!
Princess: Ladeeda, I'm so pretty!
MG: *gurgle gurle* HEEEEEEEELP!
Princess: *finally notices MG*
MG: *gurgle gurgle* HELP ME!!!
Princess: Like, oh gosh! Like, I'd love to help and all, but like, yucky! I don't wanna mess up my hair! *prances off down the beach*
MG: *drowns*

Edit: Whyyyy twice in a row? :pinched:

But she can be used as an emergency flotation device.

I could run in those.  Don't ask why I learned to run in heels.

But I wouldn't wear them.  I find them quite fugly.

I'm not usually a wedge fan but it's more practical for the beach. And Miu Miu are like, kings of wedges.

Also espedrilles are lovely for the summer; I get to wear my vintage 50s dresses and pretend I'm on a movie set, or something <3

Only if it's filmed, because I think that may be too hilarious to ignore.

I have a pair of these.  No, I am not joking! They are black, not camo, if that makes any difference...

I do barefoot when I can at beaches, but it's not so safe anymore.  I agree with Soignee about flip flops, oddly enough, though I'm not offended by the sight of them--I couldn't care less what other people wear.  Flip flops are for wearing in public showers where you need a shoe you're not worried about ruining.

Now you guys are making me think of this prompt: http://dragonage-kin...438308#t1438308 over on the kmeme (don't worry, it's nothing that will make your brain melt from reading it). Go give that prompter some beachy sexytimes (no, it wasn't me who wrote it, I'm just a lurker there, although that one is sufficiently void of need for sexy and can just be cute that I might be brave enough to try it)

Brave the kmeme, Sres.  Actually, scratch that.  I want more Sandor! :P

They're not socks... I do have socks to wear with them, though! Yeh, my kids beg me not to wear them when I go out with them. I just use them when hiking, though.

i can, with two drinks in my hands and while slyly winking at the bodyguard. I can teach you to walk in heels, it's easy. Shoulders back, stomach in and remember to swing those hips!

I think it might the hips that gets people.  I'm one of the last people anyone would expect to wear heels, let alone walk well in them, but it's all about the swish.  (Here is where I admit to a certain amount of amusement when I see girls who are all dressed up and clearly can't walk in the pretty heels they've dialed up for the occasion.)

I actually kinda like those, but I wouldn't have a bloody thing to wear with them.

The swish is definitely key. The other thing is having heels that fit well. The pair I bought in Japan is the easiest pair of heels to walk in I've ever owned. Strangely, however, even though Japanese heels are amazing, Japanese girls are still completely unable to walk in them. They look like they're going to snap their ankles the way they walk. *shudders*

Edit: And ejoslin those are hideous. Hate to break it to ya.:P

He doesn't say that he doesn't care what the warden does with the earring.   He's just saying that it's up to the warden what they do. (It does seem exactly the sort of thing that somebody might say if they wanted to give something special to somebody but know what they felt and didn't want them to feel obligated).

If I had something of sentimental value and gave it to someone, I would be devastated to find they then threw it out or sold it for a buck at a yard sale.  You just don't give away important items unless you have some expectation the recipient will value them.  Zevran's saying that at all seems strange and conflicted.  It's almost as if he's confident of the Warden's reaction and their not wanting to get rid of it, and is more lying to himself about why he's giving it and minimizing its significance to himself.  The Warden's hurt feelings are collateral damage.

I think there's a choice over how to interpret it, but to me, the explanation I've given makes most sense in relation to the other dialogue.  Why would he hurt the warden?  Like I said, if he wanted to keep his feelings hidden (or even lie to himself) he wouldn't need to give the earring at all.  By giving it, he is putting himself out there a little - maybe not enough for some, but more than the warden is doing at that point.  He tells the warden that it has meant a lot to him - and yet he's willing to give it to the warden without any guarantee that they'll treasure it.

I'm sure he would be upset if the warden sold it, but he makes it clear that it's freely given - no conditions.

I sense a really good story here...

I'm a Teva fan myself.  I have the closed-toe variety for the lab and the sandal version for any other time that there is no snow.  As short as I am, I should LOVE heels, but I extra-fail at girly where heels are concerned.  I end up wobbling around like a drunk, twising my ankle(s) and then causing myself (and sometimes others) serious bodily harm.

Aro and I will be the ones hiding under the giant umbrella.

mmhm, it's the strut. heels on, strut in action. *fingersnaps*

Contrary to popular belief, I do not live in heels. Since I am obsessed with the gym now I wear trainers. Though the thought of doing a body combat class in heels is now filling me with so much glee I sort of want to do it...

No, I agree, Ejo. Speedos seem to cut the body oddly and screw up proportions to me. I'd rather see a pair of swim shorts that say something about the guy's personality, or nothing at all. >}
