I suppose that depends on whether your warden needs a compelling reason to have sex! I agree that the place isn't ideal (lack of privacy in the camp), but the timing - I think having death hanging over them might make them in more of a hurry.

Well, I wasn't even thinking of the lack of privacy -- I was thinking more of their relative positions.  If it's a human, there already is a class difference.  But even if not, the fact that Zevran has made himself the warden's indenture could be another issue.  It is possible that he thinks the sex is one of his expected services.  One banter you may hear is Zevran saying he is glad he is able to choose his own master.

And again, you may need a more compelling reason to have sex with his/her assassin than attraction.  If you don't trust him, especially since you know he uses sex as a technique to get close to his victim, that could definitely get in the way of thinking the attraction is enough.  If you have a relationship going on with another companion, that could be another.  The warden may be still suffering a broken heart.  There are plenty of reasons, just like in the real world, why just an attraction is not a compelling enough reason to have sex.

Top of page!  Hmmmm.

I was toying with a mage, and actually brought up the "how do I know this isn't part of your plan" dialog before and after the tent, and it was so cute/funny. I may do that the next time I really romance him.

Yeh, when I've gone that route, it was his response that really convinced my character that she could trust him. It also made her realize it was a bit more than just a tumble.

Toolset time :) Not taking all the branches though (I'm far too lazy for that).

Warden: How do I know this isn't part of your plan?
Zevran: Hmm. This is true. Seducing the assassination target is a sound tactical choice. (serious)
Zevran: Do you know there are poisons that I can ingest which would be harmless to me and yet be already killing you as we speak? (teasing)
Warden: I'm sorry. I shouldn't have brought that up.
Zevran: No, by all means. I tried to kill you. Why would it not at least cross your mind? (not in the least offended)
Zevran: Allow me to say this: I am no longer in the business of attempting to kill you. Not only would it gain me little at this point, it also happens to be incredibly hard. (making a joke)
Zevran: But even so, is it not a little late for such suspicions? The die is cast, so to speak. And cast rather well, I might add. (amused)
Warden: Does this change anything?
Zevran: Chuckles Why should anything change? (teasing -- this is not his opinion but rather his interpretation of what the player said)

Edit: I could put up a video, but right now is not a good time to fire up dragon age.

He gets offended if you ask AFTER going into the tent, though, right? Or am I remembering that wrong? It's been awhile since I've done his romance since I usually play my DN and she's too caught up in her personal problems to romance anybody.

That is the conversation after the tent time.  But you can offend him in that conversation if you go down a different tree.

Edit: though the VO note says "disappointed," which makes more sense than offended.

Here's that part:

Zevran: Do you know there are poisons that I can ingest which would be harmless to me and yet be already killing you as we speak? (teasing)
Warden: Is that a denial? I can't tell.
Zevran: Are we not past this? Tsk. I thought we were. (disappointed)
Zevran: Allow me to say this: I am no longer in the business of attempting to kill you. Not only would it gain me little at this point, it also happens to be <emp>incredibly hard</emp>. (making a joke)

etc etc etc

Ahh my hero. Is it just me, or when you initiate the tent, and he asks if there's something in there that needs assassinating, is he basically not sure you really want him? (Also that dialog tree has a funny discussion about him trying to kill you too that I liked) . It almost feels like he's in complete denial that you'd find him desirable.

Also hilarious is when you recruit him, and go the route to tell him to kill loghain, then inform him he can serve you if you're an elf. He gets all "what..what...wtf??"...lol

*grin* That's not an elf thing -- it's if you don't hear his proposal before getting there!  But it is great.

his script note on the assassination thing...

Zevran: Oh? Is there something in your tent that needs assassinating? That is my speciality, or so I'm told. (playful)

I do like it when the warden invites him -- he is just laughing and teasing him/her the entire time, and does NOT make it easy for them at all until it's spelled out completely.  But it's fun hearing him be playful.  I also like the "pillow talk" greeting; first time I heard it I laughed so hard -- had he been real, I would have smacked him.

It think he is just being funny asking if there is something to assassinate in Warden's tent. I can hardly picture Zevran to be uncertain about his sexiness.

Oh I know he knows he's sexy as all get out. I just wondered if he had doubts as to the warden actually feeling that way. Tis hard to tell with him sometimes...lol

I can imagine lots of reasons for characters I haven't played.   I haven't played through the female dwarf noble as far as Zevran yet, but I could imagine that character could still be too emotionally bound to Gorim.  It does make things a bit awkward that he seems to suggest sex as a service right from the beginning, but for my characters, by the time the option comes up, they've had a chance to talk to him and make sure he's willing.  With my first character, I did worry about pregnancy, but as it didn't seem to be an issue, it didn't become a reason not to.

For those with no reasons not to, then they don't need a compelling reason to do it.   There just aren't many options for sex and relationships, and in fact, Zevran might be the very first opportunity (despite being the last love interest to arrive).    I do think mutual attraction is reason enough to have sex (barring reasons not to) - probably one of the best reasons :).   It's a natural desire, not something that I feel my characters would have to feel compelled to do.  (As in real life, too).

I've never seen a pillow talk. Darnit. I've romanced this guy twice and I'm still missing stuff. I'm still stuck on how to handle the "in love" avoid the tent til after the earring thing. I can't decide if I want him to initiate, or whether I shoud just suck it up, say no, then ask after the earring. Yes, I want my cake and to eat it to >.<

Oh do it in the landsmeet. And the Chantry. How bout Ft Drakon on your way  to the Arch Demon. Everyone else can be busy trying to figure out Sandal's presence while you two sneak off.

And I think I read about Leske, but I have a crappy memory, which in this case is good.
