Heh, I love that banter. ;D  It is early, and it's another great example of how bold and out in the open Zevran is about his attraction to the Warden.  And (at least as far as I can remember), never in a demeaning way either.  He admires the Warden a lot and thinks everyone else should, too (ref: banter with Shale about how attractive everyone is ;)

Edit: omg too many top of pages lately!  Have some Satinalia :P

The Shale/Zevran banters are great too. When he says he wouldn't mind if he got the femwarden pregnant... Well, hah, it doesn't go quite like that, but that's the basic upshot. Of course, in that one, if he's with a male warden, he says it's not really a concern.

You have just inspired me to write a one-shot at some point (maybe Wednesday?) where the Warden has to quit because she's pregnant and since Alistair is also a Warden and thus it's highly unlikely that he'll be able to be the father it will probably have to be Zevran. Posted Image

*grin* If you link it, I'll read it!

I have to admit, that is my favorite romance banter.

Thats the best part. People think he's sleazy and all that, but not once does he make a disrespectful comment  in reference to his love interest.  I stumbled onto a new path in the initial "tell me about your adventures" conversation too, where he asks if he'll get a kiss. He's just so darn funny, and sweet...too bad he gets blown off so often. I romance him more than Alistair these days.

Yeah, but none of the other DA stories I have were actually inspired by this thread and only two of them even have Zevran in them and not not even as a romance as one features the aftermath of Leliana and Wynne succeeding in killing the Warden and Alistair over the ashes and the other has a heartbroken Warden who isn't romancing anyone.

My city elf is the only one I can see having Kids. I can't WRITE it though. She's newly created, and doesn't have much story past being heartbroken about Nelaros, and very slowly falling for Zev's charms along the way, taking Gwaren so they have a real home, and having a child. A daughter I think.

That reminds me, the wiki says Zev has a problem with the city elves, does he ever specifically mention this to the city elf PC in any way? I've played one and romanced him once but I kinda just went through the motions so I didn't pay attention.

Ah, don't take the Wiki too seriously. Zevran's a city elf. He makes a comment about Alienages being the same everywhere in the Alienage, but no, aside from nothing living up to Antiva, he doesn't really say anything bad about city elves.

Edit: I forgot about the peeing on the tree comment.

He makes a couple snarky banter comments in the Alienage--one regarding the tree and the other about alienages in general. He never specifically says to the CE what his problems are, but it's easy to infer that he sees them as being lazy and accepting their poor lots in life instead of fighting for something better.

Yeah, my CE is the one I imagine having a child with Zev--a daughter who they'd name Adaia. It seems like something Zev would like, as well. And it brings out the fangirl squee in me. :P

I think I'm terrible. I always see my HNF as the one having a baby with Zevran while married to Alistair. A son, who is heir to the throne. I see him being raised in Gwaren by the warden and Zevran.

Hmm ok, I remember I wasn't impressed with his reaction to my catastrophic wedding, I mean Shianni is standing RIGHT THERE!!. I missed the other comments though. Oh wait, the one about them peeing on the tree! I was almost upset about it, then I remembered the three drunks by the gate in the Origin and thought "ya know, the man has a point there..."

As for kids, yeah I see Zev being an great Dad. He'd do anything it took to protect his family. And my warden would feel completely at ease having to go off and do warden crap with him at home. Of course, that is IF the awakening slide didn't SUCK>

Zevran would be a great dad as long as you make sure he understands what's age-appropriate. Being raised first in a ****house and then by the Crows I don't think he ever really learned that.

Hmmmm, I'll have to disagree here.  He's not stupid, nor insensitive.  Despite his upbringing, I think he'd have a clue when it came to that.

I'm not saying he'd be completely inept but he may slip up occasionally. I know actual parents who did have normal upbringings who have accidentally mentioned something inappropriate around their child.

Well, everyone does.  Heh, today a friend of my older kids was over and he told a dirty joke, not realizing I was there and it was funny and I laughed so hard.  They were all really embarrassed.

The thing is, with younger kids it goes over their heads anyway.

True, but those with problems in their childhood generally make SURE their kids don't see what they've seen, or learn what they've learned, or be exposed to what they were. Some to the point of obsession. My husband and I are both children of divorced mom's who's husbands cheated on them. Both of our fathers were absent from our lives, and did nothing to support us. As a result we've worked twice as hard not to make those same mistakes. We were also both raised poor, and started off our family the same way. think duster. So he busts his butt and does what he does so we don't have to live like that.

I think what Zev has been through, and seen as a child would actually cause him to strive to never expose that to his children.

I can't imagine him having any experience with kids, though, so how unless he gets some then how is he supposed to know what to do with his own?

It's not rocket science.  It really isn't.  Kids don't come with instruction manuals, but at the same time, there's no great mystery either. He obviously is not short tempered nor does he say cruel things out of anger.  So he's already a better parent than many out there.

Edit: ROFL, I make it sound like he's a real person.  But seriously, patience and remaining level headed are two of the most important things when it comes to raising children.

This. And you do not NEEd experience with children to do be a good parent. I had never touched a baby in my life when I had my first. And I'm happy to say she is a (don't tell HER this) wonderful young lady, with great manners, alot of respect for others, and a solid head on her shoulders.

You also don't need experience with children to know what not to do, or to know that you don't want them exposed to the bad things you were.
